One outstanding auction from leadership down! Great inventory and accommodating staff! Worth the drive for vehicles that make money!

We have had multiple issues with Brasher's Portland…read more To start the lot is usually a disorganized mess. Cars are rarely where they are supposed to be. They also can't be bothered to put run number stickers on the back of vehicles so after test drives cars don't get put back where they should be because you can't see the inventory numbers on the back of the car. Manheim does this. Photos of the car look like they were taken by a 3 year old with a 10 year old cell phone. Most are blurry and out of focus, pretty much worthless for gauging a cars condition. On 3 out of the last 3 sales I have attended cars were listed as being available for sale, but never crossed the block. So I waste a trip out to the middle of nowhere to look at cars that aren't for sale. This isn't an isolated incident, this seems to be a business practice. And the final straw was today's auction where I bid and won on a car online. I have an email saying I won the car. I have a purchase order showing I won the car. I have a screenshot showing the car was sold. Then I get a second email saying I won a different car. And now they claim it's a clerical error that allowed me to bid on the wrong car. How can you trust that they aren't regularly changing offers, bids, buyers etc. to make more money? They're happy to take your money if you accidentally bid on the wrong car, but they won't own up and sell you something you rightfully bought. An ethical company would admit it makes mistakes, and either own it, or at least try to make an offer to help. These guys? Nothing. There are plenty of other auctions out there, don't waste your time here, go to other auctions.

An auction is an auction; it's hit or miss with the cars and your own responsibility to carefully look over any car you're interested in before bidding. I have a dealer's license and buy many cars from Speed's to fix up and resell. FIX, then sell, because they do not fix anything, they just sell. I've gotten some cars that were really good deals and some that I lost money on, but that's the way it works. I buy 10-15 cars a month and have never had a problem with them. Some of the employees are not very friendly, but I can't really blame them because I've heard the steady complaining they have to endure from buyers who didn't know what they're doing. So, if you know how to properly look over a car(basic mechanic skills) or have someone you can bring along who has the know how, this is a great place to buy a cheap car. If you have no car knowledge, stick to a dealership.

Purchased a car from Speed's Auto Auction in Portland, OR that was listed as "runs and drives." I…read morewon the bid and paid immediately. Right away, I noticed the mileage was over 200,000 miles higher than what was listed. The car didn't even make it 10 miles before it died. Turns out it needed a new alternator -- which I paid a mechanic to fix. After that repair, it still didn't make it 75 miles before breaking down again and needing a tow (which I also paid for). Now I'm stuck figuring out how to actually get it to "run and drive" as advertised. This was a huge misrepresentation of the vehicle's condition and mileage. Unless you're a mechanic who can fix everything cheaply yourself, I would strongly recommend avoiding this place.

I recently had the pleasure of speaking with Luba at AutoBidMaster, and I cannot recommend her--and…read morethis site--highly enough. As a regular customer and not a dealer, I had a lot of specific questions about how the process works and some concerns regarding my account. Luba was incredibly patient and thorough, answering every single one of my questions in great detail. She didn't just give me "surface-level" answers; she took the time to make sure I actually understood the platform. Her level of expertise and helpfulness has given me the confidence I needed to move forward. I'm now excited to continue my vehicle search and hope to make a purchase very soon. If you are looking for a site that offers both great inventory and stellar customer support, look no further.

As a living breathing human, you walk in & are completely ignored. There's multiple signs that say to scan a qr code and check in and then are prompted to download an app. I spent 4hours on the phone trying to get online access to esign documents but was unable to access my online account. So I drove my husband here from Washington to get his car totaled out. I was told on the phone to just come in person to sign documents and then when physically present they directed me back on the phone/internet which is where the problem happened to begin with. Let's go back ........ I only ended up at this place because my husband is an awful driver. Our car insurance is through the military and my husband is eligible for military insurance through me. Although I'm not the registered owner of the vehicle - my husband is, but all communications have to go through me to him because his coverage is through my military connections. We went in this morning on 4/07/25...... The person who "helped us" was incredibly hostile and unprofessional. I've never been so disappointed and disrespected by any "professional interaction" in my life. I understand that bad days happen. I understand that life is hard and it's Monday and everyone has their own unique struggles but what I don't understand is the disgusting attitude this ogre brought to work today. I can't even call you a person. You're an evil deplorable monster with bad tattoos and aggressively yellow nails. You disrespected me in such a way that I promise you wouldn't be possible if you weren't at work and taking out your unhappiness in life on others. I straight up thanked you for coming to work today and instead of having any level of humility or human compassion you chose to be rude. I have no idea what I did to you, but I can promise you that indefinitely I have nothing positive to say about you or the company you're supposed to be representing. You're ugly on the inside and the outside and you're miserable. Please keep that to yourself because wtf. You're a disgusting and vile creature.

Kevin the GM at Portland North has been one of the most difficult, and ignorant IAAI employee I have yet to encounter. His lack of follow through and communication is putting a great business model in a bad light. I have dropped the vehicle back with IAAI after being promised a refund check from the GM, It has not been over 3 weeks of repeatedly calling, leaving voicemails, messages with him and all of Portland IAAI branch (from where the vehicle was purchased from) and STILL have not gotten a call back. I have been a customer of IAAI since early 2008. I've watching the service at IAAI deteriorate year after year because of bad management. The GM (Kevin) at the Portland facility has been ignorant of his customers' basic needs and is driving IAAI into the ground. It's a shame to see a business with a good model be run to the ground with terrible customer service. In light of a few good people (Austin) who actually care about their customers I will wait another week from 03/21/22 to get this resolved. I don't hear back from Kevin or (anyone else in management) that can help. I will pursue LEGAL ACTION against IAAI to the full extent of law. I am not a bad person, I don't write bad reviews for fun. I cant believe such a simple matter has come to this. I will consider revising this review if somebody at Iaai will come to their senses and close this out before litigation time.
