Therefore, I could never benefit from the session/s on any level. Also, I wasn't ready for their expertise to begin with. To many distractions in my personal life. I was to blocked off because of my own personal anger issues, anxiety, selfishness and being controlled by my own ego. But that all changed when I had a serious accident in August/2022. I first met Jon Marie about 2 years ago. At which time, I was experiencing extreme physical pain from a severe back injury. Subsequently, I ended up getting emergency spinal fusion surgery in Honolulu. But during my first session with Jon Marie and prior to my surgery, I was able to calm myself enough to find my center balance with the pain I was experiencing at the time. This helped tremendously with my breathing and re-directing the pain through my mental strength. In other words, it helped me find strength within. To manage the pain without pain meds (allergic reactions). Something, I never knew you could do when you have an extreme spinal condition. Fast forward to March/2025. With my back healing up nicely and slowly resuming my normal, every day activities, I was able to schedule a session with Jon Marie once again. This time, without the physical pain I was experiencing during our first session. To be completely honest, the session I recently had with her was life altering in a way that will benefit me for the rest of my life. In ways, I don't even know yet. If that makes sense at all. I was able to express and release very personal issues that had been negatively affecting me for some time now. I can't even really explain it exactly. But I am in complete peace now with these issues from the past and feel more connected to life now as a whole. Both physical and spiritual. My husband and kids were waiting outside for me and since he knew we were on vacation he made things so quick and easy. For needing urgent care in an unfamiliar place I was treated so well and really wasn't out much time at all. I could not believe how helpful and friendly he was. The next day I was already feeling better (thank goodness) and was able to enjoy my time on the island. What a wonderful experience, I am truly grateful to have found him. I would hate to have someone not go to him when I believe he has some great attributes and skills. I have never felt pushed to spend money. In fact, I have found Dr Mizuba to be more than generous, both with his time and his billing. True, sometimes he runs a little behind (maybe 10 minutes?) but it always seems it is because he is helping a hurting patient who really needs the extra care. I have been one of those hurting patients more than a few times, and I've always appreciated the extra time at no charge. He is expanding into some pretty cool modalities, but I don't feel they are all that costly for the reward in healing. I have never felt pushed to spend more, and he and his wife has always disclosed the extra costs. He seems to be very proactive in trying to get insurance to pay for the new items he offers, but you can't always get that to happen. I have found that it is worth going out of pocket. I have noticed Dr. Mizuba loves to help with injuries, and is especially skilled at this. His background is in sports, so this makes sense. Don't let his wife scare you. She takes awhile to warm up, but she is the one who is responsible for running the business side of things, and she takes her job very, very seriously. Someone needs to be one minding the books given their equipment purchases and paying office/staff expenses. As a small business owner on the island, I really respect that because it is really hard to do all that AND be in the medical profession. Please do look at Dr Mizubo when speaking with him. I wasn't able to use insurance for varicose veins so was very cost conscious. The consult alone was $199.. which would not go towards the cost of any procedure you'd do. I wasnt able to get a quote without it so I eventually did it. After the consult, I was told I'd need a $400+ ultrasound of my vein before they could quote me... . I'd in the consult, there must be some ballpark figure you could give me, but understanding there were variables. I was told $2500-$3000. I asked the DR. again before going for commiting to the ultrasound...$2500-$300 INCLUDING this $600 I'm spending? Yes. So I did the ultrasound, having to pay upfront. Then they suggested I ultrasound both legs since it would cost the same, so I did that, all puzzled why there wasn't a one leg charge. Everyone all along the way were very nice. The quote came in around $4500 for one leg NOT including what I'd spent. $5100 compared to $3000 is nowhere near the 'ballpark', and I tell them I can't do it for that much and how I felt about that. A few weeks later I get a call from them for scheduling- I guess my deeply expressed feelings about this didn't make it past the deaf ear it fell on. THEN I get a bill for $840+. I call to say 'what the heck'. I'm told, oh you already paid it, disregard. I never paid that amount or owed that amount... they are ALL over the place with their charges and lack of communication. $600 down the drain... a hard pill to swallow.
