The other thing that helped during my pregnancy was how during one of my appointments I had an issue with high blood pressure and htye got me a couple bottles of water and some fruit to help me feel better.

With very few providers in the area it is so nice that Kaiser offers great knowledgeable doctors. The 5 min drive makes it easy for my trips with my newborn son who was born 2 weeks ago and the first week was so rough. The 2 female doctors including doctor Gossland who has been key in taking care of myself (my primary care) as well as my sons pediatrician. The clinic is very small and personal, just like everything in Waimea. I like the feel and the fact it is not super busy. The waiting room has about 15 chairs and a water cooler for fresh cold water, key for a new mom who is constantly breastfeeding and tired and exhausted. They also have a clinic to take blood work so You again don't have to travel the hour to go to Kailua. The only thing they don't have here is a pharmacy. You have to go to KTA or foodland. But really this is the only downside.

I would hate to have someone not go to him when I believe he has some great attributes and skills. I have never felt pushed to spend money. In fact, I have found Dr Mizuba to be more than generous, both with his time and his billing. True, sometimes he runs a little behind (maybe 10 minutes?) but it always seems it is because he is helping a hurting patient who really needs the extra care. I have been one of those hurting patients more than a few times, and I've always appreciated the extra time at no charge. He is expanding into some pretty cool modalities, but I don't feel they are all that costly for the reward in healing. I have never felt pushed to spend more, and he and his wife has always disclosed the extra costs. He seems to be very proactive in trying to get insurance to pay for the new items he offers, but you can't always get that to happen. I have found that it is worth going out of pocket. I have noticed Dr. Mizuba loves to help with injuries, and is especially skilled at this. His background is in sports, so this makes sense. Don't let his wife scare you. She takes awhile to warm up, but she is the one who is responsible for running the business side of things, and she takes her job very, very seriously. Someone needs to be one minding the books given their equipment purchases and paying office/staff expenses. As a small business owner on the island, I really respect that because it is really hard to do all that AND be in the medical profession. Please do look at Dr Mizubo when speaking with him. He does wear hearing aids and can miss things, especially when you are face down on a table. He's human, he really does care, and I have found him, his wife, and his staff so helpful when I've needed their skills. He doesn't deserve to be dissed for not reselling equipment purchased several years ago that he hasn't had the opportunity to maintain. That is what Facebook Marketplace is for.
