My husband and kids were waiting outside for me and since he knew we were on vacation he made things so quick and easy. For needing urgent care in an unfamiliar place I was treated so well and really wasn't out much time at all. I could not believe how helpful and friendly he was. The next day I was already feeling better (thank goodness) and was able to enjoy my time on the island. What a wonderful experience, I am truly grateful to have found him. I would say even if there are closer urgent care offices still go here, I am sure the level of care is worth it!

I was told by Kohala that they would fill my insurance for me. Over three months later, they still hadn't sent the claim to my insurance. From there, it was excuse after excuse. It's now April and Kohala coast urgent care has been paid by both me and my insurance. They received payment in January from my insurance. I reached out to them again and ask them to send me my overpay. I even sent them my EOB. They told me that since they had been paid they would now send it to management and get payment out to me. That was January! We are now in April! I reached out to them again and was told by (she said she was the supervisor, but I found out today she isn't) Charae that according to Billing, they had already sent me out a check and that the check was returned. I have every email between Billing and myself. They asked if my address that they had was correct and I said yes. I've now asked them to produce a photo of the returned envelope with the check they sent out, because I just not buying it! It's now almost been three months since they promised to send me a check! I have hospital bills and I was recently in a car accident and have a $1000 deductible. $200 isn't going to make or break me, but it will definitely help! I am so disgusted with what they have done. This cannot be legal!

He really listened and took his time with me - about 30 minutes. My appointment was not related to colonoscopy. My issue is related to unusual symptoms after gall bladder removal surgery. He recommended a couple of tests. I gave him a lot to think about While I was disappointed he didn't have an easy answer for me, but I truly felt heard ans we're scheduling a follow-up appointment. Really great guy, personable and empathetic. I always look for, and am drawn to, people with both Intellectual Curiosity and Emotional Intelligence. Dr. Ah Loy has both traits, a rarity in doctors. He's also helped my wife greatly with digestive health. I HIGHLY recommend him for gastroenterology services! And praise like that from me is rare, especially after he couldn't immediately put his finger on a solution for me. I'm optimistic that he will figure it out. The lady answered the phone assured me they could take care of me properly and have a successful colonoscopy. They offered to give me an enema. I said yes. When arriving I had to wait 45 minutes to get in. Once in I had to wait another hour for the procedure. I woke up to a doctor lecturing me on how I didn't follow directions properly so he couldn't do the procedure at all. How frustrating! Then we got stuck in Waimea because Uber doesn't come out to pick people up there. Again I told them in advance we were taking uber but they never told there could be a problem. We were at this endoscopy clinic from noon to 5:00pm. all for nothing! Then we paid an employee's relative $100.00 to drive us home! What a nightmare!

A recent appointment at the Physical Therapy Clinic was and is the best PT support in our town. Jelene, a Kama'aina who recently came back to Hawaii after her 25 plus years professional training and experience on the east coast is brilliant! She spends time to access and converse about symptoms and then develops a plan to teach you how to move forward to alleviate pain. Her experience matters! She is well versed in the physiology and outer workings of the body. Her brilliant mind and observations are gifts as she translates and demonstrates in layman terms her findings. She has a sense of humor and a personal history of physical therapy herself and understands traumatic events that affect the mind and body. Ask for Jelene if you need PT.

She has absolutely no compassion and was completely incompetent; She was accompanied by a holier than thou twenty something blondie nurse came and treated me like a drug seeker. Neither knew I'm a physician in the community. If they looked in my chart, they could see I don't have any drug history. However, I do have an extremely complicated neurosurgical history. After writhing in pain for literally hours with an extremely high blood pressure, Miss Blondie Remedial Nurse comes in and ask how I am doing and offers me a Celebrex! Are you kidding me? I screamed at her as my pain was excruciating. She then gives me her blondie high school attitude and brings in Hammer who does NOTHING except for scolding me for yelling at the nurse all while I am curled up in a ball, writhing in pain, and begging to be transferred out. Absolute disgrace of an incompetent doctor. I have had several strokes and I can't have spiking blood pressurelike that. Dr. Hammer was even arguing with my doctor on the phone, She is incompetent, arrogant, and should not in medicine. You know a doctor isn't good when they work as BOTH a hospitalist and Emergency Room doctor. I learned later through one of my professional colleagues that she has a terrible reputation and impossible to work with.
