Mango Cafe is outside of Fruit and Spice Park, so you can eat here before or after your visit, or if you're just in the area without going inside the park or paying admission. The menu was more diverse than I would have expected for a cafe at a garden. I had a salad and my husband had a wrap. Both were good, though not above and beyond what you would normally eat at any other decent cafe. If you're in the area, it's an affordable place to eat with prompt service. However, I wouldn't make a special trip from afar just to come to the cafe alone. read more

When researching place to go and must see for our trip to the keys The Mango Cafe was listed with "the best lobster rolls around" we arrived at the restaurant which is actually attached to s spice park. Kind if neat. We didn't tour the park. The sign at the door for the cafe says to call and place your order. During this COVID time they do not allow customers inside. I ordered the 2 lobster rolls ($11.50 each) and was told she would bring them out in about 15 minutes. We sat under the avocado trees in the shade at the picnic tables. About 15 inches she brought out the order. The lobster rolls come with homemade chips. The home made chips are delicious. The lobster roll is served with lettuce on a buttered, grilled and browned hot do bun. You get two per order. The lobster rolls was good but to be completely honest the lobster roll in west bradenton is much better. read more

Nothing special about this place. The food is very average and the service was very slow. With only one other table seated, it took the waitress approximately 15 minutes to even greet us and take our order. The food took a long time to cook and seeing as how the restaurant was empty, I'm not sure why. It's also kind of cramped in the dining room and I suggest sitting on the patio. The patio is a little more spread out. I had the tuna wrap and it was average (at best). They don't give you a lot of chips and I left still hungry. I probably wouldn't eat here again. The tuna salad wrap was prepared fresh and presented very nicely in a wire basket lined with deli paper and filled with kettle style potato chips. The portion was plentiful and could be shared. The dining area is quaint and has a cozy indoor/outdoor nook in the back where you could listen the birds and get some fresh air. The server was pleasant and brought the food out to the table. This little cafe, located well off the beaten path in an historic house at Fruit and Spice Park, offers surprisingly good sandwiches, wraps, and salads, all for less than ten bucks. People rave about the lobster roll, and for good reason. Other options include a Tuscan chicken panini, a Cuban sandwich, and pulled pork. Drinks are bottled from the cooler, but smoothies and shakes are fresh. They supposedly have good key lime pie, though we didn't try it. Well worth a stop if you are anywhere in the area. read more

This little hole in the wall cafe in what appears to be in the middle of nowhere is just what we were looking for. Covered front porch with views of palm trees and lizards and mango trees. Found this cafe next to the Fruit and Spice park. We had some time to kill before the tour at the park so we decided to get something to eat. Everything on the menu is pretty affordable and they have something for everyone. They even have lobster rolls, which I was NOT going to get. I went to Cape Cod a few months ago and had a fantastic lobster roll so I wasn't interested in ruining that memory. But then we saw an article they have in the cafe about how good their lobster rolls are. The article was published only a few months ago. Now that piqued my interest. We both got lobster rolls at $9.95 each. I still was skeptical but I was pleasantly surprised. It didn't have a whole lot of mayo and the old bay was a nice touch (I live in Maryland and I know old bay). Was it as good as the one in Cape Cod, of course not--but it was good nonetheless. The service was fine, no complaints there. We were able to sit outside to enjoy the great weather. If you're heading to the park, come here for lunch, you won't regret it. Just make sure you come before 4:00 pm because they only serve smoothies after that. read more

WOW WOW WOW! This was one of the best experiences we had in Florida. First of all, the Fruit and Spice Park is a MUST! Totally worth the drive from FTL or Miami. There is also a place called RF Orchids a few blocks away and that is also a must! Now to the cafe, the fruit sampler! O.M.G. Every single fruit is perfectly ripe and is like having a taste explosion... :D in your mouth. We've never even heard of most of the fruit we tried here. Onto the main meal, the lobster roll... Holly lobster! Just when we thought nothing could beat the appetizer, this godly creation comes out. Hands down the best lobster roll i've ever had in my life. read more

My boyfriend and I both loved this place. The server was so attentive and kind, really made us fell welcomed. We appreciate her recommendations as we were very satisfied with the food we ate. My boyfriend ordered the Tune Wrap which was recommended and Wow! He loved it! I ordered the Lobster Roll and it was delicious. We were both very happy with food. Returned for lunch with my sister. I ordered the lobster roll and she ordered some sort of salad. The lobster roll was delicious and so was the salad. Huge portions as well (huge for us but we are both small women). I've come here twice now with my UM CMA group after our prayer retreat at the Fruit and Spice Park. Both times I order the lobster roll ($9) which was absolutely amazing. The size of the lobster roll is great and they give you a ton of lobster. Well worth the price. This last time I also ordered a mango pineapple smoothie which honestly had to be the best smoothie I've ever had. You could taste real mango in it and it was just perfect. My friend ordered the lobster roll. I was skeptical when I saw the price but I wanted to believe it. When her plate arrived with 2 rolls on there I knew something was up. I tried a few pieces which I knew was imitation crab just to confirm my suspicions. Then I went digging for what could possibly pass as lobster and even that was imitation crab.
