Trying a new pizza place in IB.... Dinner date with the hubby. So yummy. They make their crust from sourdough. Staff was helpful & everything we ate was very tasty! #DiningWithTheAndersons #ManginisPizzeria #ImperialBeach #Sourdough #PizzaDate

8" Garlic Supreme

Finally had a chance to get back to Mangini's and it was even better than I remember. The owners were wonderful to talk with and I appreciate the open, comfortable space inside. The pizza was perfectly done with fresh and delicious toppings. For me, the crust and the sauce are what separates this place from others. The Mangini's love eating great pizza and sharing that same great pizza with others. They have accomplished their goals and we are all beneficiaries.

Meat lovers pizza

I am giving this place two star because the service was very bad, the cashier wasn't helpful at all, this was our first time there and she wasn't able to answer any questions about the food. Her only answer was i dont know. The place is pricey and I felt like I was at Chuck E. Cheese because it is family oriented and there was a lot of kids it was loud. You go and order at the register and then you go ahead and seat anywhere but you have to go to a certain place to get cheese and the stuff you need for the pizza but no one told us so we wait and wait for someone to go to our table and help but never happened we had to go and ask. For the price you pay I don't recommend it. But I have to say that the meat lovers pizza was good. That was the only one the Marguerite wasn't good.

Wings. Really good!

Okay so there exists several pizza places within 5 minutes driving time in this neighborhood. At least five that I can count, including the typical chain ones. Off the top of my head I can name seven. They're actually all good (in my opinion). I've had all of them at least once (and a few of them more than once, if I'm being honest with myself). Placed an online order (via Toast or whatever, and I'm actually not sure if they add a percentage or what ). We ordered a 12" pepperoni & mushroom, along with an order of the hot & sweet wings. It was ready within 10-15 mins after ordering it, all I had to do was walk in and pick it up. It was seriously busy inside which is usually a good sign, right? It appeared super clean and organized inside as well. Either way, I didn't spend more than 60 seconds in there to receive and walk out with my 'zza. The pizza is excellent. I repeat, the pizza is excellent. The crust is foldable, and packed with flavor. I'm normally a ranch dipper and I didn't even need to this time. The sauce has a great consistency, not too thin but not globby and thick either. Plenty of cheese, but no need for a knife and fork. The wings are a great deal too. They're large, meaty meat, and the sauce is killer... IF YOU LIKE HOT STUFF. My lips got nice and dry from the spicy sauce. The wings are plumpy plump too. I hope this place survives and thrives. I hope Mangini's does well and continues to set the standard for this side of IB in terms of social settings and places to eat. It would be nice to transform the edge of town a bit in a positive direction.

Great customer service. Delicious, fresh, flavorful pizza. Reasonably priced. Plenty of indoor seating. Give this place a go, you won't be disappointed.

Not bad. I like the thin crust. It tasted juuuusst different enough from a generic supreme that I enjoyed it a good bit.

Loved the ice cold bottle of Coca Cola and great beer on tap

The meat lovers pizza was some of the best we have had in years! The pepperoni, sausage, sauce and the hand tossed dough was amazing. The service exceptional and everything was so clean. Casual atmosphere great for parties, date night and for us we came here on our e-bikes from Coronado South on the Bay Shore Bike Way. Fantastic stop !

So fun watching them toss the dough!

This brand new pizza shop features sourdough crust and artisan pizzas! It is truly family friendly and everything we tried was delicious!! It's also veteran owned by a local IB family! Love to support the mom and pop shops.. happy to have a non-chain option! highly recommend the Hungry Commando!! I'll def be back to try more!

The new "Rooster" pizza with Pepperoni, marinara, mozzarella, Ricotta, and peperoncini on there sourdough pizza bread!

Amazing!!! All the pizzas we had were incredible. Sourdough bread on a pizza is one of the best I've ever had! The Hungry Commando is the best! The New Guy with pesto is also excellent. The new Rooster with Ricotta and pepperoncinis was really good. They have a wide assortment of different flavors. It is also a very family friendly place. Highly recommend!

My family and I (with little children) were always curious about this place, and we finally tried it today! I'd say, this place is a hidden gem. the place is really clean, staffs are welcoming, and food is AMAZING! My kids got the garlic bread and pepperoni pizza and they both finished it; my husband and I got Barbacoa and Garden White and we loved it. And if you are like me and love to chew on ice, this is the place! Ahahaha! Definitely definitely try this place.

Beyer Deli - The New Yorker sandwich at Beyer Deli is a MUST try!!

I'm pleased to report that Beyer Deli was everything you said it was. Thanks Yelpers!…read more Now that's a sandwich! The hours may be a little skimpy, but the meats are bountiful...pause. A little off the beaten path...yes Selective hours while you're probably working...yeah Worth an extended lunch to grab one of these sandos...Absolutely! Dena and the crew are putting together some seriously delicious and well-thought-out, stacked sandos. While you won't be getting a footlong roll, the sizable portion of fillings makes for an excellent meat to bread ratio. And speaking of bread, while most of the sandwiches come on a fresh torta roll, you also have your choice of sourdough, wheat, rye, squaw, French roll, wrap, or croissant. Now that's wassup. What I tried on this visit: The New Yorker and The Italian Both sandwiches were absolutely fire. I started with the Italian and the first thing I noticed was the beautiful, shimmering, thinly sliced red onion. The shine on the veggies immediately let me know they were perfectly dressed with oil and vinegar. Upon separating the two halves to reveal the innards, layers upon layers of freshly sliced meats were waiting to be devoured. First bite...ecstasy. Not only were the veggies dressed, they were also seasoned. The combination of the flavorful proteins, tasty veggies, and fluffy torta, were a HIT! This sandwich was juicy in all the right ways. My only wish is that I would have substituted the American cheese with more provolone or swiss. Moving on to The New Yorker...Hello Pastrami!! Bomb, bomb, bomb. Both the corned beef and the pastrami were smackin' on this hot sando. Wonderfully tender, lean, flavorful proteins were packed inside this torta for absolute deliciousness. I wish I had one right now. The only thing that would have made this better was some horseradish mustard. Along with sandwiches there are breakfast items including bagels and a burrito, salads, soups, chips, and a famous brownie. Unfortunately, the brownies were sold out by the time I arrived, but I'll definitely pick one up the next time they're available. Great pickles, free parking, a few outside tables, and some inside seating rounds out the experience. Call ahead to minimize the wait. Thanks Dena and crew! I'll be back!!!

I had the New Yorker and when I asked I didn't know what brea to pick so I was recommended sourdough with provolone cheese. I devoured the sandwich it was so good. You can tell they remember the returning customers when someone comes in to pick up an order and they mention, "you remember" pertaining to a specific way they like an order. Heads up, it's cash only

The last time I visited this business, it was still called Los Pollos Rotisserie and Cuban Bakery…read more That shows you how long it has been because House of Cuban Flavor has been the name for more than a few years now under the same ownership. It's located in one of the middle suites between an auto parts store and a supermarket in an Otay strip mall of Chula Vista. Parking was plentiful as there were way more spaces in the lot than customers even at peak hours. There were a few tables placed on the sidewalk in front of the suite, but no seating was available inside. The coffee making station was to the right when you walked in. To the left of the service counter were glass displays containing the baked goods and desserts. Four small menu boards hung behind the counter. From left to right, the category on each board was Sandwiches, Cuban Specialties, Plates & Combos, and Bowls. Several trays in the display case were empty during my afternoon visit. The cashier ensured me that nothing was sold out. Items that were not displayed still could be ordered and made fresh by the kitchen. The Cuban Specialties were broken down further into Stuffed Potato Balls, Empanadas, and Pastries. Each offering cost $2.45 regardless of its composition. That was disappointing because I have encountered similar bakeries in which there were similar choices for less than $2 apiece. My order started with one of each of the potato balls (meat, spicy chicken, jalapeno & cheese) including a variety that wasn't listed (spicy pork). These were fried and then placed inside a cardboard takeout container. Each of the four had a slightly different color and/or texture to distinguish them from each other. The size was slightly smaller than a tennis ball. The meat filling was my favorite because it had the least heat as the other three contained noticeable spiciness. I also bought a meat empanada, a guava pastry, and a mango & cheese pastry. The pastry dough was light and flaky. The portion size was less impressive for $2.45. I recall when some of these were sold for one dollar less so the value has decreased over time. The fruit flavor of the guava and mango respectively was sweet but not over the top. For this recent experience at House of Cuban Flavor, I gave a 3.5 star rating.

I literally told my sister "oooh a deli, I want a torta after" and then I headed into Bellus. As I was walking in the owner of this deli confronted me telling me not to park there and I let him know I had just been dropped off and wouldn't be taking up any of his parking and he continued "the car, the car" so persistently I had to just about yell at him that she left and we weren't parked there. Mind you his establishment was completely empty at the time. Not that it would be an excuse if we did park there( which I would never do). Throughout my entire appointment I was thinking about how crazy he came at me and when I decided to mention it to the esthetician student doing my facial she mentioned she had ordered some tostilocos from him the day prior that came with apple on them (unusual) and that the cueritos on them were mushy and when she asked for her money back on them he had an attitude about it, which I believe given what I saw from him today. On my way out I stopped to let him know that I was a potential customer and he totally deterred me from patronizing his business. Oh and shocker: his place was still empty when I told him this and it was lunchtime. Interesting.

I loved that they had a pre-made sandos ready to grab and go, so we each grabbed our own boxes and a matcha. The box I had, included a shrimp sando, egg salad sando and a mango cream sando. I also ordered a large corn matcha, I am really into corn matchas. They also had, pork and chicken as an option for protein, an all fruit box and poke. They have hot food too, we'll definitely have to come back to try it. The shrimp sando was so good, super flavorful and whatever sauce they use I ended up using as a little dip for my egg sandwich. The fruit was really fresh, my mango still had a really good bite to it and it wasn't too sweet at all. My matcha, was delicious, I opted for the large because I was acting as tour guide. The matcha had good flavoring and the corn was not at all overpowering, perfect amount of sweetness. We got the chicken katsu curry plate, gyudon bowl, spicy katsu sandwhich, shrimp katsu sandwhich, a strawberry sandwhich, a tuna onigiri, a taro tornado, and thai tea. We loved the shrimp katsu sandwhich, which was nicely crunchy with the slaw to balance it out, however it was deceitfully full, as the pieces of shrimp are cut in half to make it seem like there is twice the amount of shrimp, but when you bite into those nice meaty pieces, that's it. The gyudon was very umami and flavorful and had a nice space portion. The curry was flavorful and rich. I would skip the spicy katsu sandwhich, it was very bland. The drinks were great! The taro flavor is so strong in the taro tornado and the mochi bits are such a nice texture. The thai tea was a classic, always consistently delicious wherever we go.
