Great little local studio with wonderful staff. The only drawback is it tends to be packed like sardines.

This is the best place I have been to for yoga classes! I love the teachers and classes. Everyone is so friendly and nice that works there. I highly recommend this place to anyone who likes yoga/heated yoga and I believe they have other classes as well. I am a yoga teacher and yoga therapist of 20 years and i am picky about where i practice. I was so impressed wit's Mangala from the moment i walked in the door! I was greeted w love as if i was already a part of the Mangala family. My class w Heather was above and beyond. She held the space for us to have a deep and connected experience on our mats. I left the class feeling amazing! And, to top it off.. when i called the studio a day later to say i had left my favorite water bottle and had already left maui to return to CO, the lovely person who answered offered to mail it to me! My water bottle arrived today and i am beyond grateful. This studio offers quality yoga classes and makes everyone feel welcomed. This is one of my favorite yoga studios on the island. The hot yoga classes are my favorite. Mangala Yoga has the best hot yoga studio in Maui. I am a hot yoga connoisseur. I have been to several hot yoga studios on Maui and Mangala Yoga is #1. What's really awesome about Mangala Yoga is that they offer a monthly membership in which I can go to unlimited yoga classes. Go online and check out their different offers. The teachers at Mangala are very professional and well-trained in yoga practice and theory. The staff is very courteous, professional, and helpful. The Studio also has a little boutique of high-quality yoga clothes, yoga mats and jewelry. I am so grateful and thankful that Mangala Yoga is on Maui. Love the deals they have! I literally just got out of Erin Adam's class; with slightly prune based fingers from the lovely sweat she induced, I really appreciated her flow. Easy to follow, I found myself empowered and strong in the peak poses due to the wonderful warm up she provided. I highly recommend her "happy hour" lava yoga on Monday Wednesday Friday at 5pm. While I'm talking story; I might as well share the class with Simone is like a story book: a dance of sorts; from his haiku classes to upcountry; I always look forward to when he's teaching. Kyra is absolutely amazing with her flow music and little tidbits of life wisdom she throws our way while flipping our dog or some other dynamic heart opener. A beautiful trinity to start. I'm excited to keep exploring the teachers and have complete confidence in my safety this studio holds priority as well as feeling happy that the experience coming here will be a joyful one. read more

After a few odd experiences with yoga in my past, I was a little hesitant to give it another shot. After moving to Maui though, it almost seemed like a requirement. Plus, Mangala Yoga's 30 days for $30 Kama'aina special was too good to pass up. I am so thankful I gave yoga and this studio a chance. I started with their restorative candlelight classes which moved at a nice, slow pace (perfect for a beginner like me!). In the past year and a half I have since tried all their class options. I love that they have such a variety...from yin to vinyasa to hot yoga. There truly is something for everyone, and the staff are so warm and accommodating. Yoga has benefited me in so many ways. I have truly learned the meaning of "mind over matter". After 6 months of regular yoga practice, I was comfortable enough to stop taking my daily anxiety medicine. I've been to many different yoga studios across different towns, and this is definitely one of my favorite place. Here are some highlights: - Gorgeous studio space: I love the set up of the studio and how serene it feels. If you're visiting Maui and want to do yoga in a beautiful mountain setting, this is great. - Comprehensive and diverse list of classes: I like that they keep the type of classes simple. Hot yoga, intensive vinyasa, less-intensive vinyasa, and yin. I love hot yoga but some days I just want to relax with yin yoga. It's usually hard to find a studio that covers both styles. - Fantastic instructors: They are clearly knowledgeable and provide helpful adjustments when holding poses. - Great online system for signing up: You can pay online before heading out, making it easier to just walk in and do yoga! One of my favorite Yoga studios of all time. I was so incredibly blessed to do a work trade here when I lived on Maui last winter. Being part of the Mangala family was the absolute highlight of living on island. The Hot Lava flow is the best right before heading to the beach or going about your day. This place is a pretentious rip off. I got a 10 class pass, and didn't use it within their allotted time period, and they wanted to charge me an 'extension fee' on top of the 110 bucks I'd already paid, just to have an extra 30 days added. The girl at the counter in her saccharine way kept telling me, "We want you to come" (so we can extract more money from you). I say no to Mangala. read more

As if my stay Upcountry wasn't already the most amazing experience- I went and found this studio-my yoga home away from home. I bought a visitor 4 class pack and ended up buying a couple extra drop-ins because I needed more! I only ended up taking the Lava Flow classes but EVERY instructor I took class with was so badass. Even if you aren't staying upcountry, the classes are worth the drive, it's not even that far. Plus you can get malasadas at the bakery across the street so bonus. read more

Took several classes here during a recent stay in Paia (the studios are in Makawao and Haiku, not far from Paia). This is a lovely yoga studio with competent teachers and a warm vibe. Each teacher introduced herself before class, inquired about injuries and welcomed me, a nice touch. I took 2 types of classes: Island Flow and Jungle. Every 1.5 hour class was memorable and left me relaxed and physically and emotionally more open. One of my favorite teachers was Michelle Ford. Mangala has deals for visitors and residents trying the studio out for the first time. Definitely give it a go if you're into yoga and want a place to practice while nearby! read more

I struggled with a dislike of yoga for years. I knew it was good for me, but I was never able to fully enjoy the practice. However, my first week at Makawao Yoga changed my perception forever. I absolutely love this studio! I was an unlimited member for a year and a half, until I moved to Wailuku. I love the schedule: classes at the same times every day, so it's easy to remember. The instructors are all top-notch. The heated vinyasa classes are my favorite. Clover is a phenomenal and passionate instructor. I highly recommend taking one of the studio's various workshops when offered. Plenty of parking, love-and-light filled studio welcoming you to practice, and everyone is friendly. When I moved to Maui almost a year ago, I was looking for a yoga home where I could delve deeper into my practice. I initially was drawn towards Mangala for the close proximity to me and their amazing Kama'aina deal ($30 for 30 days of yoga!!) but I've stayed for the top of the line classes. I'm personally a power flow kind of girl, and I LOVE the heated infrared classes at the Makawao studio. I attend about 1-3 classes per week and I've never felt stronger or healthier. The classes are challenging enough for yogis of any level, but also provide a spiritual centering and purposeful practice. Through physical challenge I am able to calm my busy mind and awaken my inner being. My go-to teachers are Annmarie and Clover Love, but I love them all and have never attended a class I wasn't happy with. Mahalo Mangala! read more

Was in Maui for work in August and attended a vinyasa flow class at Mangala (unheated, but, with the humidity that day, felt like a heated class). The teacher was very skilled and knowledgeable, and taught a nicely vigorous class, with options to either increase or decrease the difficulty of the poses. The studio itself was very nice and clean. Small parking lot around the studio. It was full by the time I was arrived, but I found easy (paid) street parking close by. read more
