Absolutely loved my experience here! I must admit exploring new studios can always be intimidating. I didn't know if the aerial yoga would be for a beginning student. So I thought I walk over and explore for myself, Beth was so kind and helpful. I ended up purchasing a 6 pack deal signed up for my next class before leaving. Thank you Body in Balance for the Aloha experience, Amy is an amazing teacher! read more

I took a 4 class series of intro to pole with Celeste. I had absolutely zero experience with pole and Celeste did an amazing job at making sure everyone was comfortable, had the knowledge on how to be safe, and giving us some great classes. I would absolutely go back and do it again! read more

My fav instructors are Stephanie and Wendy but everyone is full of aloha - smiles and encouragement. I went from once a week to twice a week on the reformer and feel great. Don't forget your socks! But if you do no biggie, they have some for $15. You feel like ohana here. Couldn't love it more! read more

My go to Pilates studio! There the best!!! Hands on,, knowledgeable, and extremely professional. Been a client for years!!!

I made my way to the studio that is nearby where I'm staying to make movement happen in my love for aerial yoga. You can find this place along the industrial area of town and it's street parking for the most part. When you walk in, the front desk is immediate and I walked in on a class that was in session. Right away the owner, Amanda who was instructing the class reassured me that it was fine and the lovely lady at the counter would help me out. Got that squared away and was all set. First things first, when coming in to do aerial yoga it clearly states on their website that form fitting sleeved tops and pants to the back of the knees or longer be worn. Take this into heart. I had a sleeveless fairly fitted workout top on thinking it would be fine as I'm accustomed to it. However there is a reason for that. Amanda made mention of it, I didn't have an extra shirt on me but she was kind enough to loan one for the class. As for the class, what can I say? I'm not new to aerial yoga but I can say I loved it. I even sweated a little more than usual. Amanda is a wonderful instructor. She has a great way of cuing and the transitions from one pose to the next come together so well. She also works to everyone's level and is very patient. I learned some new things myself. I left with that feeling after any aerial yoga class and that is pure bliss and opened up. An excellent place to get all kinds of different movement in while away on vacation. I will certainly make my way back here to try out the other classes as well that are grounded nonetheless are fun and challenging. read more

I recently moved to Maui and shortly after started coming to body in balance. From the very first class, everyone is so welcoming and make you feel right at home! All the instructors are so knowledgeable, welcoming, nice and provide just the amount of energy you are looking for for a class! They offer a wide variety of classes, which I LOVE! So far I have done 3 different forms of class and love them all, I can't wait to keep trying new work outs and meeting new members & instructors. 10/10 would recommend whether you are visiting and looking for a work out OR looking for a long term studio! read more

My girl friends took me here for my first aerial silks yoga class. It was a blast to do together and something I've always wanted to try. These classes are becoming more popular on Maui. I'm glad to see Body in Balance offering this both Aerial Silks and Aerial Yoga classes. The studio is a 2 floor space, our class was on the first floor. They keep this class small, 8 students max. We came in, took a seat. We went one by one, learning basic skills on the silks. Our instructor was by our side the whole time as it our first silks class for the six of us. Two other more experience gals were in our class who worked on more difficult skills during their turns. Our instructor gave great instructions and was very patient as each tried the basic skills. I appreciated that she worked with our beginner level and also accommodated her more experience students too. At first I thought going one by one would really limited what we got to try during class. But it was a great balance. Aerial silks require a lot of strength which we don't have as beginners. So taking turns allowed us to receive one on one teaching while also getting to rest a bit before trying another skills. I highly recommend checking this class out if you like yoga or pilates and want to try something new. We had ladies of all ages in our class, from early 20s to mid 50's. A few of them were pretty nervous at first too. But they challenged themselves and really enjoyed the class. I'm sure I'll go back for another class. However I leave in Kihei so an hour drive each way isn't ideal regularly for me. read more

Took their Barre class which was pretty good - EXCEPT for being told off for drinking water! C'mon peeps, this is Hawaii - you get hot and thirsty quickly here! Didn't like that Bikram vibe! read more

I've been taking pole classes with C.A. Her energy is stellar - very sweet. She has a great structure to her classes and is open to requests. C.A. has a great balance between challenging you and honoring your body's needs to take pause. I am in between levels so I find it very helpful that she can offer a modification to a trick if I cannot quite do it. I love that she asks about our pole goals. It's a very proactive approach she takes to tailor classes to the needs of her students. C.A. is also in tune! I've experienced a number of times where someone's goal is already on the agenda for that day. Love her spinning pole class. Go! read more

I was looking for an Aerial yoga studio while in Maui, and found this studio searching on google. You will need a Mindbody account to sign up, but they are easy to reach by phone or just pop in. As an aerial yoga teacher, I need to maintain my practice while on travel. The other challenge is I'm 55 and my sacrum has been burning for weeks (due to my regular job at a desk). After taking Beth Russell's Flexibility and Mobility class, an Aerial Yoga Class, then her Aerial Rx class - My back feels great! I'm always looking to learn new techniques, and a book load of new ideas from Beth. I highly recommend her class for any age or mobility, read more

Now, I understand that when you're vacationing in Maui and enjoying the delicious Mai Tais & spam musubi (YUM!), working out may be the last thing on your mind. But find a few days to refresh your mind & body and you will enjoy your stay even more. I dropped by for a reformer Pilates class. Drop by for the "equipment" class is $30 + tax. Great studio with plenty of sidewalk parking. The downstairs is dedicated to mat Pilates and yoga. The upstairs has 5 reformer Pilates machines. Very clean and inviting. I was the only one in the 8:30am class with Jenna. Jenna was fantastic! She noticed the scar on my foot (I am about 9 months post foot surgery) and was extra accommodating. She showed me how to use certain parts of the machine I wasn't familiar with and helped to adjust my body for a deeper stretch. She was extremely positive and reminded me about my core & breathing. You can also purchase a block of 6 classes for only $90 if you are staying longer. Highly recommend this studio if you are visiting. Everyone is very friendly and will welcome you with a smile. So happy I dropped by. read more

I was in town for only a short period of time so I was only able to attend one pilates class. I liked that the class was small...5 reformers...and the instructor, Or, was knowledgeable, had a sense of humor and, more importantly, his instructions were easy to follow. read more

I have been addicted to Pilate and looked for a studio in Maui while on vacation. Glad that I found Body in Balance. Bought a 10 lesson package for reformer class. Took an aerial yoga play class here and it was amazing. I wasn't really sure what to expect but it was so much fun and we had a really great time. Worked up a little sweat too. I couldn't help laugh during some of the upside down moments. The instructor was really great and the studio felt super well taken care of and professional. Really positive environment and experience! We'll be back! read more

Tucked away in this industrial complex is a gem hidden oasis. Somewhere you can go to let your body restore to its natural state and your mind retreat from whatever it is you need to get away from. I was first hesitant to take a class here being that im a big girl thats out of shape when it comes to any type of yoga or fitness classes but consider myself to be average when it comes to outdoor fitness. The staff was very assuring and helpful that yes! these beautiful silky fabrics would hold me in my journey to aerial yoga. My first class was with amy in aerial play who is a young bubbling personality thats vibes had me really getting into my zen mode. The moves were foreign but she took the time to help adjust me and give me options for an easier or harder(ya right) way to do things. My second class today was the regular aerial yoga with amanda. I found out quite quickly the two classes were very different. The second being more intense and challenging and depending more on myself then the silks. Amanda had a nice touch of pushing and supporting me in the moves but also being mindful of my limits as a newcomer. I did a full inversion this time around as shown in my pic. Amanda also was kind enough to snap a few photos and send then to me!!! All in all the pain i entered the room with melted away and my mobility was restored in this hour of body wellness and i cant wait go to my next class. Thanks amanda and amy. read more

Great customer service! I was vacationing from MN and contacted the studio to see about doing a private stand up paddle board Pilates/Yoga lesson. They did not have a regular group session since I was traveling during the off season. Beth at front desk contacted numerous instructors and bent over backwards to book a private lesson for me. My instructor, Kara, was wonderful to work with as well! I had never done Pilates so she catered the lesson to my abilities. She spent extra time with me as well so that I got the most out of the experience! read more

Amy Baca is an incredible Pilates trainer and I just did a 1 hour private session with her. I have only taken pilates once years ago, so I am a complete beginner. Took a "spa yoga" class with Jenna (I think that's what it's called) and my gosh her voice was so soothing! I felt very relaxed while she instructed the class and the aromas that lightly filled the studio was just perfect. Not too strong, not too subtle, just right. I went with a group (we forgot to call beforehand) and Jenna was so kind to squeeze us into the class last minute. This class was at around 6pm and I just felt so relaxed and ready to hit the sack. Such a perfect way to end such a busy day. I would definitely recommend this class! read more

I am an annual visitor to Maui and an avid Pilates junkie. I was so thrilled to find this studio three years ago and have visited the studio each year. I generally buy 6 classes and go to their various Pilates reformer classes three times each week I am here. On Mondays there is a Pilates advanced reformer class that is tough, challenging, and exhilerating. I walked out of that class feeling so much better than when I walked in. The other two classes I enjoy is the Core Reformer class on Wed and Friday. Each class has a different instructor so you are challenged and given the insight to proper Pilates form from each of them. I only wish we had a studio like this in my home town that offers such a wonderful variety of classes. read more

WOW! What a fun, interactive and confidence boosting work out! Amanda was truly fantastic. Our group of 19 celebrating our bachelorette showed up almost an hour late and not only was Amanda so understanding, she still gave us a great class with the time that we had!
