My wife and I got the open gym week pass, they have everything you need to get a great workout in and it's open 24/7 making it super convenient to work around your schedule if you are vacationing. First off this gym is amazing for how small and well equipped it is. I didn't part take in work out session but I can say I met a person that expressed how much they loved the class lead workouts at the block. Great experience start to finish with our visit to The Block. During our 6 day vacation we were able to use their facility for 5 days. We opted for their $70 week pass which includes classes and open gym access. On Sunday there were no classes so we were able to use the gym with an access code that was given through email when we signed up for our week pass. Lots of great equipment including racks, barbells, free weights, kettlebells, TRX, medicine balls, turf area and more! Classes were effective ways for us to get a good workout in an 1 hour time. A truly unique and five star gym in Maui. The classes and coaches are all great. They each have their own flair of doing things and offer new and challenging movements and exercises. The gym has everything you would want in it and I purchased their week pass. Which is perfect if you are there on vacation and the most economical as well. Visited this gym for the four days I was in Kaanapali for open gym, loved it. Has everything you need, all of the local gym members were so friendly and welcoming. I'm such a fan of The Block. It's taken some time for me to find a gym that I could stick with; and honestly, I avoided coming to The Block for over a year. Back in San Diego I signed up for a functional fitness gym (centered around Olympic lifting, with a gigantic learning curve) that I ended up hating and dropped $$$ for a membership I never even used. Classes here couldn't be more different. More intimate classes make for more individual attention -- and kettlebells are a tool where you can start really small & work your way up as you master it. I initially got hooked on Boxing & Bells - part Boxing on aquabags, mixed with rounds of weights, core and cardio. Classes are dynamic and you're never bored. They offer a first class free & I highly recommend anyone who's on the fence to check it out. The best addition to my Hawaii experience: consistent exercise with good, unpretentious vibes at The Block. Multiple bench presses, squat areas, small to GOAT dumbbells perfect even if you're actually already in shape. And that's the key point here. This ain't a what the hell is this compromise hotel gym. That's why you are a tourist looking for clean, hard-earned, and reasonably-priced sweat from some heavy ass weight. Drink. Have fun. Then set up a routine for 45 minutes in the AM and feel good about yourself on the beach by noon. Hawaii. Food. You drunk during that MF sunset. && confident biceps to go along with it all. Get the tourist pass which is reasonable and actually probably 1/2 cost it could be. Parking is in a business area and seems busy when people are out. During peak AM hours, plan for 5 minutes and be happy with 2. They have classes too, but I decided to pursue the newfound greatness of lifting on vacation and loving every rep. The CrossFit style classes seemed positive and intense for what it's worth. read more

Awesome experience going for 7 day pass while staying in Kapalua. My Airbnb did not have a gym and I work remotely so I'm used to traveling/finding a place to train. This was the best set up for Olympic style lifting and the people at the gym are all extremely nice. Plenty of squat racks, barbells, kettles, pull up areas and dumbbells up to 100. When visiting Maui was looking for a gym that accepted guests and am thrilled that I found The Block. Had gone to another gym in the area to see about a guest pass and when I arrived the door was locked and folks inside didn't seem to want to help out but not at The Block. Here the doors are always open and folks are friendly and super helpful. You can even register for a guest pass on their website. It's a smaller space but everything is well organized and is maxamized to where you could have several people all doing their own thing thing during open gym and not be in each other's way. Everyone is polite and kind, making it easy to make some new friends if you're a local. (I'm only here for a vacay) the only part I had trouble with was the fact that there was no one maning the front desk around 11am on a weekday. I made myself a mindbody account and charged myself for a drop-in fee, which I assume is what they do there. All in all, this was an amazing facility that will definitely come back to once I am back on Maui! read more

This is a no frills, functional gym with all the free weights you need, including kettlebells. I was on vacation for a week and they offered a competitive weekly rate of $35. Its cozy, but for mainlanders keeping a early bird schedule, this gym is perfect, as they're open 24/7. At 5am, the gym was nearly empty, and it was like having my own playground. This is the best Gym to workout at, owner Anthony and Megan are friendly, welcoming and helpful. Anthony and Erik are very entertaining, they also take there time to demonstrate and go over each workouts and how to correctly use the kettlebells, dumbells and equipment. I am so happy that I signed up for the 6 week Get Fit Stay Fit Challenge with Miranda Smith and Bryson Nakamura. Since they were base on Oahu, it was a challenge having our questions answered, since they only communicated with us through Facebook. Other than that I met my target goal and completed the 6 week challenge. This challenge totally is a life changer I learned self discipline. I feel healthier, stronger, happier, know how to eat better and I love my results I've lost 23 pounds in 6 week and went from size 12 down to size 7. Absolutely love the Block! Attending the classes is what works best for me. There is guidance and group motivation. Everyone encourages each other and the coach walks around to make sure you are doing the moves properly, which is the biggest plus in my book. Such a great find! We've been visiting Lahaina for the last 10 years and we always struggle finding a place to work out while we're here. This was the first time we visited The Block and it was absolutely perfect. Equipment is a little old, but they have everything you need for a workout. The best thing is they're open 24 hours so you can go super early in the morning when you're up cause you haven't adjusted to the time change yet. You purchase passes online and they just check in once you get to to the gym, so the whole process is pretty easy. We went twice during our trip - once for the open gym and then for a class which was a cross-fit style class. The class was a good alternative with a good instructor (wish I could remember her name!) that you could modify based on your level. The gym does get a little hot and humid, but there are some big fans you can stand in front of if you need to cool down a bit. read more

Was visiting Maui for a week vacation with the family, and my brother in law and I were searching for an exercise class/gym to combat the influx of calories to be consumed when we stumbled upon the block. The workouts were brutal, never repetitive, and provided a mix of cardio and old world strength training- We had 1/2 of a workout built around the Turkish get up! Despite the brutality of the workouts, the collegial atmosphere fostered by Anthony made them fun. We even bought T-shirt's to commemorate our ass kicking fitness journey!
