The block is the best gym around! My wife and I got the open gym week pass, they have everything you need to get a great workout in and it's open 24/7 making it super convenient to work around your schedule if you are vacationing. When we first arrived, Coach Mike was very welcoming and accommodating, making sure we got the help we needed while coaching a full class. I highly recommend coming here! Great gym, good people. read more

We stopped by during our week in Lahaina and wish we had more time to do a class every day. Tyler was a great instructor - making adjustments g but not being overbearing. read more

First off this gym is amazing for how small and well equipped it is. I didn't part take in work out session but I can say I met a person that expressed how much they loved the class lead workouts at the block. I stayed for 8 days in Maui and was stressing about finding a gym affordable, close by and 24:7. The block was the answer. Tyler answered every question I had about memberships, door access codes and logging in process. Which made the experience that much better. Highly recommend the block and will be sure to come back! read more

Best place in Lahaina for a good pump, whether you're a member or visitor. Register online and download their preferred app to sign a waiver and check into the gym. Instructions are on your confirmation. Open Gym option is awesome. The circuit classes may look intimidating but are truly designed to strengthen your body and increase endurance. Love that they have water, hand towels for wiping, hand chalk and a few machines available - everything you need, really. read more

Great experience start to finish with our visit to The Block. During our 6 day vacation we were able to use their facility for 5 days. We opted for their $70 week pass which includes classes and open gym access. On Sunday there were no classes so we were able to use the gym with an access code that was given through email when we signed up for our week pass. Lots of great equipment including racks, barbells, free weights, kettlebells, TRX, medicine balls, turf area and more! Classes were effective ways for us to get a good workout in an 1 hour time. Shoutout to Bo and Tyler for the classes and your help! Mahalo and hope to visit again soon. read more

A truly unique and five star gym in Maui. The classes and coaches are all great. They each have their own flair of doing things and offer new and challenging movements and exercises. The gym has everything you would want in it and I purchased their week pass. Which is perfect if you are there on vacation and the most economical as well. I can't recommend them much they will give you the Hawaiian treatment and you will leave that gym sweating. read more

This place was awesome! Visited for a week while on vacation and the gym had everything I needed (and more) to continue my regular training. Quality gear, never too crowded, and very clean. Highly recommend. read more

I'm such a fan of The Block. It's taken some time for me to find a gym that I could stick with; and honestly, I avoided coming to The Block for over a year. Back in San Diego I signed up for a functional fitness gym (centered around Olympic lifting, with a gigantic learning curve) that I ended up hating and dropped $$$ for a membership I never even used. Classes here couldn't be more different. More intimate classes make for more individual attention -- and kettlebells are a tool where you can start really small & work your way up as you master it. I initially got hooked on Boxing & Bells - part Boxing on aquabags, mixed with rounds of weights, core and cardio. Classes are dynamic and you're never bored. They offer a first class free & I highly recommend anyone who's on the fence to check it out. It's always intimidating going to a new gym, but the coaches, gym fam & staff here make you feel right at home from the get go. read more

Visited this gym for the four days I was in Kaanapali for open gym, loved it. Has everything you need, all of the local gym members were so friendly and welcoming. They have a cable machine, your squat rigs, and a single wooden platform! Kettlebells, dumbbells, womens barbells and a nice small astroturf area with wind bikes. read more

The best addition to my Hawaii experience: consistent exercise with good, unpretentious vibes at The Block. Multiple bench presses, squat areas, small to GOAT dumbbells perfect even if you're actually already in shape. And that's the key point here. This ain't a what the hell is this compromise hotel gym. That's why you are a tourist looking for clean, hard-earned, and reasonably-priced sweat from some heavy ass weight. Drink. Have fun. Then set up a routine for 45 minutes in the AM and feel good about yourself on the beach by noon. Hawaii. Food. You drunk during that MF sunset. && confident biceps to go along with it all. Get the tourist pass which is reasonable and actually probably 1/2 cost it could be. Parking is in a business area and seems busy when people are out. During peak AM hours, plan for 5 minutes and be happy with 2. They have classes too, but I decided to pursue the newfound greatness of lifting on vacation and loving every rep. The CrossFit style classes seemed positive and intense for what it's worth. read more

Found this place before coming to Maui and purchased their week pass. I was only able to use the pass for three days due to being busy with other activities but absolutely loved coming here and wished I came to more classes! They had awesome coaches and truly an amazing workout! read more

Awesome experience going for 7 day pass while staying in Kapalua. My Airbnb did not have a gym and I work remotely so I'm used to traveling/finding a place to train. This was the best set up for Olympic style lifting and the people at the gym are all extremely nice. Plenty of squat racks, barbells, kettles, pull up areas and dumbbells up to 100. Bonus: one of the days dogs were outside and near the entrance. What is better than petting a cute dog between sets or after the work out? read more

I am visiting Maui and staying in Lahaina for a week. I work with Kettlebells in Oakland, Ca. I was bummed to have to miss my 3 day a week workout while I'm vacation . I called and spoke to Tyler and paid online. We walked in the gym and completed our 40 minute workout. Was amazing. I really appreciate this gym! :) Great spot!! read more

June 2022 - Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Allowed me to use the gym for just one week while I was visiting Maui.

If you are looking for an AMAZING gym with a welcoming staff, then this gym is FOR YOU!!! It's a clean gym with an open air concept. They have KILLER classes taught by helpful trainers. They also have open gym if you are not into classes. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! read more

I enjoyed the option to join the class or do open gym. Defiantly a great place to drop in for a WOD.

We were extremely fortunate and grateful that we found The Block during our vacation in Maui. Every trainer/worker we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I was happy to find a place that was so welcoming and nice to tourists. We paid for the "open gym" portion and we're more than pleased! The Block definitely has an awesome atmosphere. Thank you for making our stay in Maui even better! read more

When visiting Maui was looking for a gym that accepted guests and am thrilled that I found The Block. Had gone to another gym in the area to see about a guest pass and when I arrived the door was locked and folks inside didn't seem to want to help out but not at The Block. Here the doors are always open and folks are friendly and super helpful. You can even register for a guest pass on their website. Will definitely be coming back to The Block when visiting Maui and am hopeful they will open more locations in Hawai'i. read more

Tyler is amazing! One man show and has an amazing and friendly facility. Highly highly recommend this gym either local or visiting

Visited town and needed a place to lift, nothing fancy just plates and a barbell and a platform but the Block met and exceeded my expectations. Anthony was responsive, warm and very welcoming (which is not always the case with a lot of lifting gyms)! Awesome facility, great location and equipment! Thanks for making me feel welcome and I can't wait to come back. Wish I lived here, I'd join this gym in a heartbeat read more

Did a 1 day pass. CrossFit style gym. Has everything you could need to get a great pump. Great gym on Maui.

A great facility! Thanks to trainer Erick for telling me about the spot and being very helpful! Awesome guy! Pleeeenty of kettle bells and dumbbells, with serveral nice barbells and bumper plates. It's a smaller space but everything is well organized and is maxamized to where you could have several people all doing their own thing thing during open gym and not be in each other's way. Everyone is polite and kind, making it easy to make some new friends if you're a local. (I'm only here for a vacay) the only part I had trouble with was the fact that there was no one maning the front desk around 11am on a weekday. I made myself a mindbody account and charged myself for a drop-in fee, which I assume is what they do there. All in all, this was an amazing facility that will definitely come back to once I am back on Maui! read more

Finding this gym was one of the highlights to our trip here. We felt welcomed from the get go. Tyler is as good as it gets and truly made us feel at ease from the beginning. Going to new places can put you out of your comfort zone but not here. If your looking for some personal session, we watched Tyler instruct and he truly knows his craft. This place has everything you need, never was too crowded, has great music. So happy to have found it and you will be too!!! read more

This is a no frills, functional gym with all the free weights you need, including kettlebells. I was on vacation for a week and they offered a competitive weekly rate of $35. Its cozy, but for mainlanders keeping a early bird schedule, this gym is perfect, as they're open 24/7. At 5am, the gym was nearly empty, and it was like having my own playground. Highly recommend this gym for anyone looking to stave off those locomoco's. read more

I've utilized the open gym at The Block during my vacations to Maui. This is my go to gym when I'm here. You won't beat the price or the friendly atmosphere anywhere else. True functional fitness gym equipped with assault bikes, free weights, rowers, dumb bells, kettle bells and rigs. It's got everything you need. All the folks you run into here are gonna be welcoming. I've seen the classes operating and they're grinding too if you need that group environment. Love this place to say the least. Sign up if you're here. read more

This is the best Gym to workout at, owner Anthony and Megan are friendly, welcoming and helpful. Anthony and Erik are very entertaining, they also take there time to demonstrate and go over each workouts and how to correctly use the kettlebells, dumbells and equipment. I am so happy that I signed up for the 6 week Get Fit Stay Fit Challenge with Miranda Smith and Bryson Nakamura. Since they were base on Oahu, it was a challenge having our questions answered, since they only communicated with us through Facebook. Other than that I met my target goal and completed the 6 week challenge. This challenge totally is a life changer I learned self discipline. I feel healthier, stronger, happier, know how to eat better and I love my results I've lost 23 pounds in 6 week and went from size 12 down to size 7. Im going to be honest this challenge is super hard, I am very proud of myself. I will take what i learned and apply it to my every day routine and keep staying fit. read more

Absolutely love the Block! Attending the classes is what works best for me. There is guidance and group motivation. Everyone encourages each other and the coach walks around to make sure you are doing the moves properly, which is the biggest plus in my book. Cause if you get hurt, there is down time and no working out. The atmosphere is upbeat full of energy and you will have an awesome workout if you out your all into it. read more

If you need a place to workout for the week or permanently this place is great! I have been to plenty of gyms when traveling and this was by far one of the best. The coaches are friendly, humble, and helpful. I mainly used the open gym but also took a class and the instructor- Tyler was amazing. This place has good energy, no one stares at you and everyone makes you feel accepted. Keep up the welcoming spirts! read more

Was staying in Maui for a week and needed to find a gym, that's when I found The Block. I signed up for a week pass, which was VERY reasonable, and managed to get some great workouts in when I needed a break from the beach. The team was very friendly and helpful, the sign up process was a breeze, and it was convenient being able to just drop on whenever I needed. Would certainly recommend to others in the area looking for something similar, I'll def be back during my next visit. read more

We always try to find a gym when we go on vacation but oftentimes, they are way over priced. This gym had most equipment you would need for lifting as well as a couple bikes, a rower, and 2 non-electric treadmills for cardio. Tyler was super nice. The gym was accessible 24 hours. We didn't take any of the classes but they looked awesome. Highly recommend! read more

Such a great find! We've been visiting Lahaina for the last 10 years and we always struggle finding a place to work out while we're here. This was the first time we visited The Block and it was absolutely perfect. Equipment is a little old, but they have everything you need for a workout. The best thing is they're open 24 hours so you can go super early in the morning when you're up cause you haven't adjusted to the time change yet. You purchase passes online and they just check in once you get to to the gym, so the whole process is pretty easy. We went twice during our trip - once for the open gym and then for a class which was a cross-fit style class. The class was a good alternative with a good instructor (wish I could remember her name!) that you could modify based on your level. The gym does get a little hot and humid, but there are some big fans you can stand in front of if you need to cool down a bit. read more

I went to one class and the coaching was exceptional. I will be back all month and when I come back in the future. I have known Anthony for some time. His approach to fitness training is refreshing. On a personal note, I was looking at having some trouble getting to classes and Anthony offered to help me try to find transportation. That's what kind of guy he is and what kind of 'fitness family' he is creating here. read more

Nice gym, solid weekly rates. The owner does a great job being around the area. Plenty of equipment

I love the block! Group style weight classes is right in my wheelhouse! This place was a great find on our recent trip to Maui. The facility is perfect and the owner, Anthony, is a great guy. The workouts were challenging, but accessible for any training level. Was visiting Maui for a week vacation with the family, and my brother in law and I were searching for an exercise class/gym to combat the influx of calories to be consumed when we stumbled upon the block. The workouts were brutal, never repetitive, and provided a mix of cardio and old world strength training- We had 1/2 of a workout built around the Turkish get up! Despite the brutality of the workouts, the collegial atmosphere fostered by Anthony made them fun. We even bought T-shirt's to commemorate our ass kicking fitness journey! If you are ever in Maui, and need a tough workout, check out the block- your heart and lungs may hate you but that 6 pack on the beach will be worth it. read more
