The salon just changed names in the last week and is now Cinder and Blume. I'll never go back after the experience I had today @manelounge and @katieclaytonhair I had booked an appt last Saturday for a toner and hair cut appt and confirmed with Katie twice via text. The haircut was $65 and the toner appt including a blowout was $90. I walk in today a few min before my appointment and wait up front for Katie. I sit in the chair and we talk about the haircut and I provide photos and she goes back to mix up toner which took probably 10 minutes. It seemed odd that she did not wash my hair and put the toner on dry hair but I assumed she knew what she was doing. I'd say just minutes into putting this toner on only the blonde pieces of my hair and not all over, the front desk person tells her at 12:15pm that someone else is there for an appt. I'm literally in the middle of talking and Katie walks away to go see this other client. When she gets back she says nothing at all so we sit in silence while she continues to put toner on my hair. After she's done, she clips it up in a hair clip and never brushes it through like other salons and tells me she forgot and needs to wash this other persons hair quickly and tells me to sit in the back on a plywood bench that is uncomfortable by the way for 20 minutes. I assume it's just a wash appt, but no she then starts cutting this persons hair as I wait. At about 23 minutes into my toner she comes over and tells me to go get it washed at the bowl but all she does is rinse it with cold water and then hot. She hands me a towel and tells me to go sit at the bench again. 40 mins later she waves at me after she's cut, dried and styled this other woman's hair. She just says, sorry I forgot she was booked. At that point I'm fuming, all of the stylists have seen me just sit in the back this whole time. No one offered me water like the other clients fyi. I literally told her I was upset and she took this other person and left me to wait. I told her my hair literally looked black at this point it's been an hour and almost 20 minutes with this toner and she never washed it out that my hair is so dark, Katie just says she's sorry but didn't know why I was mad, she was also helping me at the same time that she did this other person. I tell her that she never asked if it was ok to make me wait and that I'm also a client and that was bullshit. She then tells me my hair was washed earlier and you don't wash toner out. I told her she never washed my hair and she put this toner on my hair dry. She apparently forgot that she did that. I asked for a manager but she works for herself. She just says she won't charge me for the toner. She then cuts my hair in less than 10 minutes and I ask before she's even done what she's doing as we talked about and looked at photos of short hair. She says she forgot and now has to start the cut over. This second time was choppy. She then charged me $70 when a hair cut is $65. And when I got home I had chunks of hair 2 inches too long that I had to take scissors to even out my hair. On top of that the toner made my hair ashy and it's a grey/ green looking brown. It's so dark it's not even funny. I even tipped her 20% and I shouldn't have. And she didn't cut the front or add a layer in the back like we talked about it was just a choppy straight across cut in like 5 minutes time. Plus I left with soaking wet hair and she charged me for a full hair cut service which would include a blowout!!! This other person that walked in at 12:15 was more important and I didn't even matter to her. This was my 4th time seeing her and my last. Run the other direction. She doesn't care about you unfortunately. And the prices on the website on her instagram page are not what she charges you in person, beware. Last time I got partial highlights and a toner it was $25 more and she used 2 bottles of toner on my hair (it was not long hair mind you) and justified why the price was higher than quoted. I can tell you my highlights were silvery grey in the front and I knew the 2 bottles of toner were to hide her mistake. I could literally see silver in my hair the day I came home from the salon. I've been getting highlights since I was a teenager, I've never had 2 bottles of toner in my hair at one time and toner is usually applied in my experience on clean, wet hair and left on for 10 minutes and combed through and monitored and then rinsed QUICKLY so the hair isn't ashy. I wish she had done better, I really do. I'm sad I have to go to work like this. read more

Mane Lounge - Bad hair cut. I'm still finding pieces hours later to cut! - Hair Salons Near Me - Novato, California

I had a wonderful experience with my colorist, Jen Qunitos, at the Mane Lounge today. After following her from one of Marin's most high end salons she is happily establishing her loyal following at this beautiful spot in the Pachecho Village Shopping Center in Ignacio area of Novato. Jen is one of Marin County's most talented colorists and does not disappoint! For a great cut ask for Jenny Rico, who is also one of the best at what she does. Jenny has been cutting my hair for years and always knows how to give me that current look. Ignore the negative reviews and give Mane Lounge a try again-ask for Jen or Jenny for the finest service. read more

I moved to Marin County a year ago and didn't know any any salons around here so I decided to go to Mane Lounge for haircut and hair coloring. First of all, the place is so clean and nice and follows the Covid-19 safety protocols. Second of all, the personnel are very friendly. Susana was my stylist and I'm absolutely in love with her work. She's very nice and professional. Lastly, the price is very reasonable. They don't have a fixed price for all services for everyone. They charge you based on the length of your hair and what you want to do with your hair. I for sure come back here again and I definitely recommend this place! read more

Mane Lounge - Hair Salons Near Me - Novato, California

I've been going to this salon for so long and I can't tell you how excited I am about the renovations!! I always wanted my stylist, Susana, to work at a salon that matched her taste and talent but now that it's under new management it's soooo much nicer and classier. It's great that Pacheco Plaza has been becoming more upscale and finally has a salon that matches the aesthetic. The new salon owner is so sweet and you can tell that everyone is so much happier working there. Susana does amazing work and is always catering to her clients. It makes sense why she has so many clients. She offers suggestions to help me decide what I want done with my hair but ultimately she supports whatever style I want. She is down to earth, friendly and so stylish. You won't be disappointed! You can check out her work on Instagram @susana.styling read more

I've been coming to this salon a few years now getting my haircut every six weeks or so by Tiffany without any issues. She's sweet and always respects my time and almost never runs late. After every haircut she always asks me if I am happy or need adjustments. I am very happy with her service and hair colors with multiple changes throughout my visits. To the previous reviewer D.J while I respect your opinion but to rate someone by their "broken English" is unacceptable. You are proving yourself to be an entitled and racist oinker. If you have a problem with people with with non perfect English maybe don't go restaurants, don't get haircuts basically stay home as every establishments have people from all walks of life whom may an accent #bewoke read more
