I'll never go back after…read morethe experience I had today @manelounge and @katieclaytonhair I had booked an appt last Saturday for a toner and hair cut appt and confirmed with Katie twice via text. The haircut was $65 and the toner appt including a blowout was $90. I walk in today a few min before my appointment and wait up front for Katie. I sit in the chair and we talk about the haircut and I provide photos and she goes back to mix up toner which took probably 10 minutes. It seemed odd that she did not wash my hair and put the toner on dry hair but I assumed she knew what she was doing. I'd say just minutes into putting this toner on only the blonde pieces of my hair and not all over, the front desk person tells her at 12:15pm that someone else is there for an appt. I'm literally in the middle of talking and Katie walks away to go see this other client. When she gets back she says nothing at all so we sit in silence while she continues to put toner on my hair. After she's done, she clips it up in a hair clip and never brushes it through like other salons and tells me she forgot and needs to wash this other persons hair quickly and tells me to sit in the back on a plywood bench that is uncomfortable by the way for 20 minutes. I assume it's just a wash appt, but no she then starts cutting this persons hair as I wait. At about 23 minutes into my toner she comes over and tells me to go get it washed at the bowl but all she does is rinse it with cold water and then hot. She hands me a towel and tells me to go sit at the bench again. 40 mins later she waves at me after she's cut, dried and styled this other woman's hair. She just says, sorry I forgot she was booked. At that point I'm fuming, all of the stylists have seen me just sit in the back this whole time. No one offered me water like the other clients fyi. I literally told her I was upset and she took this other person and left me to wait. I told her my hair literally looked black at this point it's been an hour and almost 20 minutes with this toner and she never washed it out that my hair is so dark, Katie just says she's sorry but didn't know why I was mad, she was also helping me at the same time that she did this other person. I tell her that she never asked if it was ok to make me wait and that I'm also a client and that was bullshit. She then tells me my hair was washed earlier and you don't wash toner out. I told her she never washed my hair and she put this toner on my hair dry. She apparently forgot that she did that. I asked for a manager but she works for herself. She just says she won't charge me for the toner. She then cuts my hair in less than 10 minutes and I ask before she's even done what she's doing as we talked about and looked at photos of short hair. She says she forgot and now has to start the cut over. This second time was choppy. She then charged me $70 when a hair cut is $65. And when I got home I had chunks of hair 2 inches too long that I had to take scissors to even out my hair. On top of that the toner made my hair ashy and it's a grey/ green looking brown. It's so dark it's not even funny. I even tipped her 20% and I shouldn't have. And she didn't cut the front or add a layer in the back like we talked about it was just a choppy straight across cut in like 5 minutes time. Plus I left with soaking wet hair and she charged me for a full hair cut service which would include a blowout!!! This other person that walked in at 12:15 was more important and I didn't even matter to her. This was my 4th time seeing her and my last. Run the other direction. She doesn't care about you unfortunately. And the prices on the website on her instagram page are not what she charges you in person, beware. Last time I got partial highlights and a toner it was $25 more and she used 2 bottles of toner on my hair (it was not long hair mind you) and justified why the price was higher than quoted. I can tell you my highlights were silvery grey in the front and I knew the 2 bottles of toner were to hide her mistake. I could literally see silver in my hair the day I came home from the salon. I've been getting highlights since I was a teenager, I've never had 2 bottles of toner in my hair at one time and toner is usually applied in my experience on clean, wet hair and left on for 10 minutes and combed through and monitored and then rinsed QUICKLY so the hair isn't ashy. I wish she had done better, I really do. I'm sad I have to go to work like this.
