Daniel Chen is the nicest, most friendly, restaurant owner with the best food in Canada. He accommodated our family so nicely and granted every one of our wishes. So happy with his service :). Best wishes Daniel, thanks for having us, Adam

Honestly these days there's not great value out of this place. On the weekends they break out crab legs but after tax and tip it's almost 40 bucks a person even if you don't buy drinks. I understand it's all you can eat but I don't know many people that can get their money's worth for this place unless you're only or mostly eating seafood. I'd rather just order Chinese from my local place and save over 60 dollars (based on 2 people) but this place is more of a special occasion place for us. It was a relative's birthday as it usually is when we come to this place. We've been here a bunch of times and there are some changes that they've done lately. They've added some raw fish to the sushi area but I noticed they don't make any actually sushi (nigiri or maki) with raw fish. They have like 3 varieties or so of raw fish (red tuna, salmon, white tuna) to the side. I tried the red tuna and the salmon and they didn't taste that great and/or they didn't seem very chilled. Health hazard? Maybe some of the hot food on my plate warmed it up a bit but it just wasn't as good. I've had sashimi at all you can eat buffets in Miami and it's night and day. These days a weekend cost if you don't eat seafood is NOT worth it IMO. 40 dollars after tax and tip is a lot for Chinese food considering you can get a lot of Chinese food for well under 30 dollars to feed more than 3 people and this place is much more for just one person. I didn't see too many dishes empty so they do fill them up fast, even the crab which I had none of and they do have a decent variety of food but it's not worth 40 dollars per person during the weekends (busy time).

I'm surprised at how hot and good the food actually was at this location. You would think it would be a run down location but it's pretty nice inside. I was pleasantly surprised since the last few times i've had Mandarin (at other locations) I wasn't too happy afterwards. I already want to go back for more!

I have been coming to the Mandarino for years. Over time they have changed and each location also seems to cater to their local community. Every location has the water feature in the front Every location has little umbrellas in their signature drinks This restaurant has become a place for groups to celebrate special occasions because it can satisfy every guests tastes including Mr. McDonalds That guy can have roast beef, mashed potatoes with gravy, and corn Niblett and a casa salad Mr chinois will enjoy some asian treats Kids go crazy for the dessert bar and pizza slices Being a pizzaiolo means I am critical of their horrible pizza but it's for kids not for people like me One thing that has changed over the years is a better sushi story with more selection. Sadly it still is a generic offering and their customers don't mind. Jiro who? They ask For 35 years they have truly offered a big spread and a chance for customers to fill their belly to the brim (which they do) with a very fresh offering of Chinese food One thing that the group table commented on was how the plates are smaller. That just means you take 2 extra trips to the trough and battle through the crowd around the torpedo shrimps In order to beat the owner and push him into poverty by eating more than what you pay requires arriving hungry and having a systematic approach to loading your plate on each trip My 3 tips are to enjoy a half portion of soup as your starter and to scope out the hot grill servings where they may have sirloin steak right off the grill. Don't have garlic bread or buns as that can fill you up with empty carbs that can be better served with more kung pao chicken

While the noodles were not crispy, the dish was loaded with chicken, shrimp, bok choy, mushroom & other vegetables that soaked up the delicious savoury sauce. We added a cream corn soup to round out. I've also had the Szechuan Chicken before and have to admit it's another hit fast food dish. This restaurant has a mash of different menu items including pho, sushi & Thai curry as well. The sushi rolls were passable. It doesn't have to be perfectly authentic to be a good option at the mall. While we've never tried the server experience, the metal takeout tables here work perfectly fine for a quick meal. For our latest meal, we had the Ginger Beef with rice which is another pleasant Chinese takeout dish popularized locally. It came hot out of the kitchen. The deep fry technique here preserved the tenderness of the beef much better than other places where I've tried this dish. It went well with the crispy batter drenched in sweet spicy soy sauce. Skip it or it hit? If you're looking for Asian food at the mall, an occasional visit here is not bad.

I used to get the kids meal which consist of fried rice or noodle with 2 pieces of chicken. Don't recall the price but it's less than $10 (I feel like it's $5 or less). The chicken is so good! This time around we got 2 boxes of chicken (24) and noodles for total of $32. Service is ok! And there's food court if you want to eat there. Otherwise mainly takeout spot. Also get the red sauce! It's so good with the chicken. They also gave me hot sauce packets and soy sauce.

China Wok Super Chinese Food provides the best-breaded chicken wings in the Greater Toronto Area…read more The scrumptiously marinated wings are coated with a seasoned batter (with unique, refreshing seasoning blends, such as rosemary) and fried to an absolute crispy golden brown. Once you start those wings, you can't stop. In fact, these wings are so good that I ordered 200 of them for my party last winter, and I still don't get tired of those damn wings! Also - they are great if you keep them in the fridge for a day & reheat them too. Although their fried rice and vegetables are not as out-of-this-world as their wings, they all still pack great wok hei while tasting surprisingly "healthy" (because they are not as heavily seasoned as other Chinese food places). I think the chef wanted to ensure that the other dishes did not steal the show of their wings. Overall, I strongly recommend China Wok Superb Chinese food, regardless of whether you want to grab a combo meal with wings, rice and vegetables or just ten wings for a meal. They are all great options with a decent price.

We were watching on YouTube and saw that the bloggers were reviewing the location in Richmond Hill. We assumed that the Vaughan location was the same one. So, that was our fault. But, we decided to stay and didn't feel like traveling all the way to the other one. We were immediately seated after we arrived. The place is pretty big, with a very elegant interior. Tables seating up to 4 people line the leftmost wall, which has framed paintings adorning it. Circular tables for groups of 8 sit in the center of the restaurant and on all of the tables are crisp white tablecloths with beautifully folded green cloth napkins. The specials are also written on a framed green chalkboard on the back wall and the place is illuminated by built-in spotlights. We ordered the following: Braised Tofu with vegetables - Daughter liked it a lot. She said that it tasted like Chinese takeout but in a good way. Basa Fish Chili Bean Sauce- This was ok, but I thought the sauce was the same as the other orders. Spicy eggplant with shrimp- Hubs said that this tasted similar to the braised tofu with vegetables and it was ok. Overall, we felt that these 3 entrees and sauce all tasted the same. It was ok but no big deal. This place is located next to a mall, so there was plenty of parking. Service was quick and friendly. We told our server about daughter's peanut allergy and it was noted on our bill. There were quite a few other tables occupied. I'm glad we got a chance to try this place. Always wanted to try Canadian Chinese food!

I ordered Hakka Chow Mein and Spicy Dry Chili Chicken take out. They told me to come in 30 mins and I showed up a little early and the food was all ready for me. No issue with my order (exactly as orderd). Kind of annoyed with myself for not paying cash and saving 10% (I saw this after I left and read the take out menu I took). The Hakka Chow Mein was actually quite good-tasty, well prepared (noodles were not too hard/soft); we ordered spicy and it had a hint of spice but not enough kick. The Chili chicken was decent as well-they have dry or wet options-I ordered the dry and it was good but once again the spice did not have enough kick to it. However, keep in mind that I would not be their core client (who may not be able to handle very spicy food like I can). It was good but not as good as a few of the other Hakka places I would categorize as the "gold standard". They offer Halal as well. Would I come back? For sure! This is a decent place in this part of the 905!

The restaurant was packed and it was a bit hard to get a hold of a server at times, but their service was pretty good overall given the speed, ability to customize some menu items, and attentiveness. We ordered the Scallops with Vegetables, and we got to choose what type of vegetables we wanted (usually we don't get to choose in other Chinese restaurants). We opted for choy sum, but we also could've chosen from a selection of mixed vegetables, bok choy, snow peas, mushrooms, etc. Surprisingly, the scallops came as jumbo scallops. I was expecting smaller-sized scallops like in other Chinese restaurants. The dish was tasty and I could taste the ginger. Seafood and Garlic Fried Rice was alright - no different than those in other similar restaurants. The rice was quite dry and there were small pieces of shrimps and scallops in the mix.

I had forgotten that it was customary after a Chinese funeral (his mom was Chinese and her husband was Vietnamese) to have something to eat after a funeral. I was moved that he was thinking of me during a difficult time. I said yes. He got his niece to get me the address of the restaurant. She conveniently had a business card, which made it easy. I saw Legend Chinese Restaurant. I put it into my maps app, and drove my friend and me over there. He insisted that I drive him. Maybe my company provided him comfort. I know that the reverse was true. It was nice to spend some more time catching up with him as we headed northbound. This eatery is in a plaza with Red Lobster across from it. We had dined there together eons ago. There was lots of parking. I backed into a spot and we walked over to the restaurant. A woman greeted us. Both of us wearing black made her realize that we were a part of a larger group that had come from a funeral. She pointed us into a closed area with wall dividers that separated us from the rest of the customers chowing down. We didn't have dim sum. Instead, we had an eight-course meal. I had never dined here, so I was looking forward to what we were about to eat. Each table had to make one seat space open for the server to come with food. I happened to be next to this gap. It has its pros and cons. I helped move dishes and such to make way for new dishes to arrive. Our server did spill some water on the table, but it wasn't crazy. I loved the lazy Susan. Our table had eight people. It was needed to get to whatever we wanted on it. We had hot looseleaf tea and hot water in tea pots. The tea was yummy, but I had no clue what it was. We ended up pouring the hot water into the looseleaf tea pot when we were running low. Our server was also great to refill the pot with the looseleaf tea a number of times. We got the following items during our meal: - Roasted pork - Shrimp and scallop soup - Chicken - Sweet and sour pork - Shrimp and scallops with sugar snaps - Steamed fish - Mushrooms with baby bok choy - Tofu pudding - Fortune cookies Half our table were vegetarians, so almost everything wasn't suitable, except for the tofu pudding. Folks at the table were kind to let me take photos of most dishes before we wrecked them, except for the vegetarian tofu vegetable medley that came out. They were so hangry that they simply went in. I have a mental picture of the generous rectangles of tofu, with mushrooms and baby bok choy. There may have been more veggies. I was happy that they could finally eat! We started with the roasted pork. It was excellent. The pork was succulent. The pork skin was crispy. Delicious! I loved the shrimp and scallop soup. It had small cubes of shrimp and baby scallops in a nice broth. The large bowl of soup sat next to me. It was deadly. I love soup. No one wanted seconds, so I polished it all. The chicken was tender. It was nice with the scallion oil. My friend and I remarked that the sweet and sour pork was excellent. It's probably because we are so used to chicken as the protein. The pork was crispy even with the sweet and sour sauce coating each morsel. The pork was tender. I loved the bell pepper and the pineapple chunks. The shrimp and scallops with sugar snaps was divine. I love sugar snaps and they were perfectly cooked while still crispy. The shrimp and scallops were large and yummy. I grew up with my mom steaming an entire fish. It's dealing with the bones that is annoying. Thankfully, a man at our table went ahead and portioned out the fish such that he eliminated most of the bones. Wow! Can I have this man de-fillet any fish that I want to eat?! The fish was naturally yummy from the steaming method. I loved the green onions on top and the soy-based sauce. I love mushrooms. The fact that we had an assorted mushroom dish with baby bok choy was awesome! Sadly, there was oyster sauce in this dish, so the vegetarians couldn't enjoy it with us. There were two different types of mushrooms. The large ones were meaty. The smaller ones were yummy, but difficult to pick up with chopsticks. I ended up eating them with a soup spoon. There was steamed rice at our table. I had some with the mushroom sauce. It was delicious. We ended up with tofu pudding. We got to scoop the tofu out and then add the syrup. The tofu and syrup were warm. It was a delightful dessert that wasn't all that sweet. We got a large bowl of fortune cookies to end our meal. My fortune said that I tend to be straightforward and honest. My friend joked that my fortune was completely wrong... haha! I used the washroom before I headed home. The women's washroom was clean. No complaints. I loved the food here. It was top-notch delicious. It was comforting and much needed. I'd love to have dim sum here and see what that's like. (413)
