Shortly after we walked in, we were warmly greeted by an employee who noticed we were looking at pendant lighting. Our contractor told us to ask for Michelle who turned out to be right behind the counter. All in all, it was a wonderful experience. She is knowledgeable about the inventory, offered her opinion (because we asked for it) about what size fixtures to get for the space over our island, and checked the system for availability while we looked around. Both employees we worked with were very professional, courteous and personable. Quite honestly, I don't understand the negative reviews regarding customer service. Our experience was the complete opposite of what negative "reviewers" posted. Without a doubt, Light'n Leisure will be our first stop for our future lighting and ceiling fan needs. The prices are reasonable, the merchandise is extensive and the customer service is excellent.

Turns out they had our email incorrect. Went in to pick up and waited for 15 minutes for two employees to be off of what were clearly personal calls in their "employees only" back rooms. (They were loud enough to be heard.) Guy who came out to help was nice enough, but by that time we were already annoyed to appreciate it. "Discounted" prices are the same or more as online stores. They have been "going out of business" for over a year. Wide selection is the only other positive.

So we went to the front desk, which had no one there. There was a map of the first floor, with no obvious elevator on it. I called both numbers that show up when googling, one of which went to the store, and another to a call center which transferred us to the store. No answer. We heard someone talking down the hall, I tried loudly to get their attention asking for help and was ignored before they disappeared. Called another number on their website, which went again to the call center. Asked them to try calling the store, given our results. My mom by that point found the phone number for the person we were meeting, which also went to the store. I was starting to walk around a little more, hoping to find an elevator, when apparently the the call center got through, someone came down to talk to us. They have no elevator. Their solution was for the person we were supposed to meet to facetime us while we wait downstairs. The person who spoke to us claimed we shouldn't have have been ignored and the phone should have been picked up, that neither thing was normal. Well, the other reviews here, which I did not read beforehand, tell a different story. This definitely isn't the place to go if you have mobility issues, and it seems like their customer service level in general is awful.

So you're standing in your big box store looking at that plastic light and wondering if it's good…read moreenough. Lemme help. It's not. We were standing where you are, but walked out and bought our light from Shiplights. This thing is solid, with metal that's gonna patina, glass in place of yellowing plastic and an upclose detail that those cheap lights pressed out of old water bottles can't even come close to (I mean, they're not even metal). It's so worth the money on looks alone. But then there's the customer service. We ordered a light. It arrived. Looked great. BUT... it was too small. Our fault, not Shiplights'. We just weren't thinking big enough. So we called them up and exchanged the light. But it was Covid time. Thought for sure this would take forever. Nope. Couple of days later the light arrived. It had an unexpected surprise. They credited us for the shipping. They hadn't offered and we hadn't asked. This is a small business, and it's Covid time. Plus, our mistake, like I said. But they credited it to us anyway. That's a standup business. That's someone you know is gonna help you with design challenges. Go ahead. Order the light. Take a risk and get some craftsmanship. It'll come and you'll be stoked. And if not, they're good people. They'll help get what you need. And that ugly, cheap looking light at the big box store? It'll always be there just in case craftsmanship and customer service aren't your thing.
