I remembered how much I enjoyed the space the first time, and this visit reminded me why. The venue is beautifully decorated with a clean, modern aesthetic that instantly creates a calming and relaxing atmosphere. It also always smells amazing, which adds to the overall experience. The staff has been friendly and welcoming on both of my visits, making it easy to feel comfortable as soon as you walk in. The open layout and abundance of natural light make it a great setting. Whether you're attending a class, a community event, or hosting something of your own, The Pearl Aura offers a peaceful space that feels thoughtfully designed. I'd gladly return for another event.

There's a few fans on the cieling to keep things cool inside. The grounds are clean and well landscaped. I attended a private event here and there was plenty of parking. Several hundred people were on the property and there were no issues. The indoor area is also nice and has a small bar. For such a small bar they definitely had a decent selection although they did run out of a few types of beer and cider towards the end. I don't quite think they were expecting a crowd so big. Downside is cell service is spotty and forget about trying to use your GPS until you are back on the main road.

There's a great art range, and the tour guide was very informative to the Pope family and the daughter Theodate who did a lot of the architectural designing. The house has a lot of great things to look at (between the art and furniture in all the rooms) and at the visitor's center there is a small art exhibit. No photos in the house allowed though. There are trails on the property and a sunken garden. On a nice weather day, it's great for walking around the property. It was crowded when I went on a Saturday, and tours are on the hour, so don't show up at the last minute. Overall, a great site to visit!

"Quiet little old community, one-horse town You got to watch…read morewhat they're puttin' down" (Bob Seger) The William J. Pitkin Community Center sure does a lot to serve the community. Want some examples? Of course you do -well how about a banquet facility, fitness room, gymnasium, meeting rooms, a preschool, Community TV studio, summer camps, as a Special Olympics site, an emergency shelter, and a Senior Center, all within its 34,000-square-feet building. We visited their Community Center banquet facility last night. No, we weren't there for wedding reception, anniversary party, birthday party, holiday party, seminar, or meeting. Nope, we were there for the Wethersfield Volunteer Fire Department Association's Annual Beer and Wine Tasting fundraiser. The banquet room was huge, I mean really huge - it can hold up to 350 people, and there is plenty of parking, so if you're in charge of finding a venue for a big event, it might serve you well to check it out. We had a great time checking out the 23 tables of beer and wine vendors, the Teacup Raffle station with over sixty prizes, and the snack station with pizza, taquitos, cheese, vegetables, dip, crackers and bags of salty snacks. Some of the more memorable samples we tasted were Absolut Tabasco vodka, Good F*cking Rose Wine, a Root Beer Whiskey, and a Chocolate vodka. Overall, I was struck by how few true "beer" vendors were there and how many artisanal alcohol-based waters and sodas were represented. I guess the times are a-changing when it comes to drinking. Anyways -the William J. Pitkin Community Center was a great host for this fundraiser and the facility was very impressive.
