Those that think they can just do their own…read morewedding with an iPod just don't understand the value that a professional like Don brings to the event. He spent time with the bride and groom understanding the type of music they liked. He even researched the guests and asked for favorites! The DJ does so much more than just play music. He literally controls the flow of the event. He has special lighting and his sound was just great. We did a lot of research before selecting Tasteful Productions. Don is a music veteran, having been a musician himself for years. He even played a piano during the pre-event hour making for a delightful and tasteful touch. I think an important thing to note is that a DJ can be "too" controlling, but Don did enough without over-the-top control. In all my research, Tasteful Productions came up the most. Even the location recommended this service. My son and daughter-in-law still rave about the great night of music and dancing and how smooth everything went. They aren't the only ones...even our family and friends still talk about what a great DJ we had. We were very pleased.

Let me start by saying that Marx Entertainment provided both DJ services and Photo Booth services…read morefor our wedding. We were very unhappy with the DJ but happy with the Photo Booth set up and staff. My husband and I had DJ Craig for our wedding in September 2023. We had two meetings with him beforehand were we discussed how we would like the night to run. In addition to a list of "must-play" songs (something we were encouraged to complete), we discussed how we would like our table-dash, anniversary dance, alumni photo, and private dance to operate. We also noted on multiple occasions during both calls that we DID NOT want a lot of remixes. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with how DJ Craig managed all of these aspects except for the table dash and private dance. Here is where our issues lie: - Out of our 30 or so must play songs maybe half were played. - As laid out on the Marx Entertainment website we chose a "last song" for the dance floor. DJ Craig played the song we designated as our last song as a way to open the dance floor. - The first 30 minutes were exclusively remixes and bad ones at that. It got to the point where we said something to DJ Craig, and while the music did get better, he still continued to play remixes. Honestly, a Spotify playlist would have been better. - The anniversary dance was something DJ Craig suggested and we loved the idea. However, instead of doing what he had described to us where he starts calling people off the dance floor after some dancing and starting with short time increments, DJ Craig called for anyone married for less than 5 years to leave the dance floor after approximately 20 seconds. People hadn't even REACHED the dance floor to start dancing at that point, including the parents of the groom. Not to mention we are a young couple and that kicked more than half of the people off the dance floor in one sweep. - College alumni photo was announced at a very weird time and very rushed. Just felt awkward - We were immediately asked once the lights turned on to provide a positive video review for DJ Craig. This was extremely uncomfortable and we gave dishonest feedback during it. We would NOT recommend him. Like I said previously, the Photo Booth staff was excellent and we loved the book they made us. We also had no issues with booking or prior communication with Marx. While the set up and logistical execution of the event went well we didn't feel our opinions were considered at all in song selection and that the fun mini-events we had throughout the night went poorly

They provided a…read morededicated online portal where we could easily share lists of our song preferences and we were also able to meet both over the phone and in person with our DJ prior to the event to discuss details. Our DJ, Manu, went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure a successful event. He was in touch with us via phone and text a few days prior to finalize details, he arrived several (4-5!) hours early to make sure everything was set up correctly and sounding great, and once things got started I don't think he took even a 5 minute break! The music was great, he was a welcoming and enthusiastic MC, and I can't think of a single complaint. He even thanked US at the end for such a fun and warm event. We were so happy. We would hire them again in a second!

Craig was great in the run up to the wedding - he answered our questions, helped us work on both a playlist and a ceremony script, and communicated with our coordinator to make sure everything ran smoothly the day of. We are so glad we had Craig do the music and officiating for our ceremony. Stacy played all our music on cue and Craig was a great officiant. He let us have complete control over everything we wanted to do and say, respected the vibe we said we wanted, and of course most importantly sent in our marriage license as soon as he was able. We also got SO many compliments on his DJing from all our guests. He played the songs we asked for while also being able to read the room and know what songs would or wouldn't go over well. We had people dancing from the second the floor opened till we closed it down at midnight. Shoutout to Stacy as well who went above and beyond to help a family member with shuttle information when she totally didn't have to. This was our second wedding with this vendor and honestly it was worse than the first…read more The dhol player just left even though we'd arranged for him to keep playing inside the venue. The DJ said he'd escalate it to Rishi, but we never heard anything back or even got an apology. Setup was also a mess -- Rishi told us on our call they'd start around 7am - 7:30am, but when we got to the venue around 8am nobody was there yet. The DJ texted later saying he'd arrived, but that was well past 8. Because of this the Baraat got delayed and had to be cut short. Energy the whole time was flat. You could barely hear the music during the Baraat in our videos, and the DJ didn't really try to hype up the crowd at all. The monogram was another headache -- we were told 2-3 weeks and kept getting "don't worry, it's coming." We asked multiple times to see options before picking one, but instead we were basically forced into accepting the test version they sent over the day before the wedding, with no real chance to choose. I made basically the same design myself with AI in under an hour, so I don't know what the holdup was. On top of all that, communication was a constant struggle. We sent our song list with timing ahead of time and were still getting asked what to play and when on the actual wedding day. Overall one of the worst vendor experiences we've had, especially for a day that's supposed to be stress-free.

We've been gushing over the photos and videos of the dance floor because that was definitely a highlight for us. Our goal was to have a fantastic party to celebrate our marriage and Rishi brought just that to our venue. Several guests came to us after our wedding reception and complimented us on our DJ/MC team.
