They charged me over $1000 for the job which I thought was extremely high, but we had no choice as this was an emergency. That same faucet broke on us yesterday. Of course, I did not call Steve's Plumbing back. I gave 535 Plumbing a call and they were fantastic. Not only did they come out quickly to my home but they were very reasonably priced. I understand Steve's Plumbing works on commission so they charge a lot. 535 Plumbing charges a flat rate which is fair to the customer. My wife and I are retired so keeping expenses under control is important to us. 535 Plumbing sent two people to my home. Both were very nice and were very thorough to insure the install was done correctly and nothing was leaking. Thanks 535 Plumbing. I will be using again for any future plumbing needs I may have.

Unreliable at sticking to scheduled appointments…read more I'm a resident manager at a high rise. I just referred this company to one of my tenants. I used them a few times in the past and they were good. One of my tenants scheduled with them to repair an actively leaking angle valve. It was scheduled 5 days in advance. 535 just canceled the appointment the next day claiming that they don't have the part, and they don't know when they can find it. This excuse as pure bs. It's a common angle valve. I could go up to the hardware store right now and pick one up. If you need a plumber that will stick to their scheduled appointments, 535 isn't it. If you are a building manager, do not recommend to your tenants, they will only make you look bad.

Outstanding Service from Start to Finish!…read more We recently had a HALO H2Zero Ultimate whole-house water filtration system installed by Allen's Plumbing, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. From the very first phone call, Corrine was absolutely wonderful. She was incredibly kind, responsive, and professional, making the scheduling process easy and stress-free. In today's world, it's rare to find someone who communicates so well and genuinely cares about the customer experience. Our technician, Ty, was outstanding. He took tremendous pride in his work, patiently answered all of our questions, and clearly explained the system, maintenance requirements, and warranty. His craftsmanship was exceptional. The copper piping installation is clean, organized, and looks like it belongs in a plumbing showcase. You can immediately tell that Ty values doing the job the right way rather than simply finishing it quickly. We invested in a HALO H2Zero Ultimate system with a Sediment Guard pre-filter, and Allen's Plumbing installed everything beautifully with bypass valves, high-quality copper work, and a layout that will be easy to maintain for years to come. What impressed me most was the professionalism of everyone involved. From Corrine's communication to Ty's workmanship, the entire team demonstrated honesty, expertise, and genuine pride in what they do. If you're looking for a plumbing company on Oʻahu that shows up, communicates well, and delivers top-quality workmanship, I highly recommend Allen's Plumbing. They earned our trust, and they'll be the first company we call for any future plumbing needs. Mahalo to Corrine, Ty, and the entire Allen's Plumbing team for a fantastic experience!

As a home owner you have a lot of responsibilities where you need to juggle many responsibilities such as but not limited to finances, insurance, property taxes, preventative measures and maintenance. The other week I wasn't feeling well and stayed home from work which ended up a blessing in disguise as I had a leak in one of my 50 gallon tanks. I noticed the leak from the night before where I shut all but one valve and turned off the electric breakers. As water leaks can lead to property damage, I had to immediately get a plumber as I'm not a DIY person. I reached out to my BIL where he recommended either Allen's Plumbing (AP) or Roto Rooter. I decided to first check AP on Yelp and saw low ratings from good friends of Peter Y. and Victoria A. It's unfortunate my friends had below average experiences with AP where I was skeptical. But I trust my BIL and took the leap of faith. AP is a local company that started in 1982 servicing 24-hour service to both Oahu and Maui. The process was simple and efficient. I called first thing on a Friday morning and after addressing my issue, I was advised their plumber can be at my home at around 11am. Their dispatch contacted me a little before 11am to inform Jonah, their plumber, is on his way and arrived at about 1120am. After the assessment, it was determined that one of my hot water tanks had both internal and external leaks. I was provided an onsite quote of replacing the tank, installation, labor, parts, and disposal of the old tank. I was forewarned by my BIL of the higher than usual quote with AP, but trusted the integrity, service and professionalism of AP and agreed to the proposal. After committing to the quote, staff went on the road to secure my water tank replacement and came back about an hour later. This allowed me some time to clear the area and place more towels on the floor as water accumulated. When the staff returned, I advised them to use the side gate for a much easier access to the wash room. Luckily it was a breezy and sunny afternoon, ideal conditions in transporting the water tanks and installation. It took about 3 hours for Jonah and his colleague to disconnect and remove the damaged tank and install the new tank. I'm no expert in this field but waited patiently as I do have solar panels which perhaps caused extra steps in removing and installing. When I saw one of the staff load a box with the leaking water tank into their van, I sensed the task was soon to be completed. Prior to Jonah leaving, I did also mention my sink fixture in one of the bathrooms needed to be replaced where he also gave me a quote. It was already late so it was agreed I'd be calling back once I've made arrangements to have my sister house sit for me due to my work schedule. I paid my bill in full and the boys left my home. I had some minor tidying up to do as the laundry room floor was still wet. Overall, an amazing first experience with AP where I'd be sure to contact them again. I am impressed of their service, professionalism, dedication and knowledge of their industry by providing the service to get the job done. Note that due diligence is also required by the consumer. Highly recommended.

They came back with a proposal of $35,000. After reviewing the itemized estimate, I immediately advised her to get additional quotes. One line item alone was $1,660 to install four hose bibbs (spigots)--something she never requested. There was no discussion about adding new hose bibbs or performing related work throughout the house that would justify this charge. For context, hose bibbs are inexpensive parts (around $5-$10 each at The Home Depot or similar retailers) and typically require minimal labor. We obtained two additional quotes from other plumbers: $4,500 and $3,900 for the same repair. Based on this experience, the pricing from Steve's was extremely inflated and concerning--especially given that the customer was an elderly homeowner. If you consider getting a quote from Steve's, I strongly recommend getting multiple estimates before proceeding.

The work was done cleanly and correctly, which gave me immediate peace of mind. I'll admit I was a little nervous about the cost at first, but it was absolutely worth it for the quality of work and the reassurance that everything was handled properly. He was prompt, professional, and very organized throughout the entire process. I also appreciated that he took the time to spot-check my water heater and share helpful maintenance insight without any pressure. I've added JGR Plumbing to my go-to list and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, honest plumbing work.

But after Jaren took a careful look and walked me through what he was seeing, I decided to move forward with it--and I'm genuinely glad I did. What stood out right away was how professional, thorough, and patient Jaren was from start to finish. Like many of the Yelp reviews say, he doesn't rush, he doesn't cut corners, and he doesn't talk down to you. He took the time to answer my questions in a way I could fully understand--even as someone who knows almost nothing about plumbing. That kind of clear communication matters, because it turns a stressful situation into something manageable. And here's the part that really earned my respect: he didn't oversell. When it came to the water heater, he didn't just point to the age and say, "Replace it." He explained why it mattered, what could happen if I waited, and how upgrading certain older plastic/PVC materials to brass could save me money and headaches down the line. It wasn't pressure--it was education. It felt honest, practical, and grounded in what was best for my home. He was also incredibly flexible. On the same day he worked in my unit, the building complex was dealing with additional plumbing repairs by another company, and it created delays and coordination challenges. Still, he stayed calm and professional. He was at my place from about 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM, and while I felt bad that it was such a long day, it reassured me even more--because it was clear he wasn't rushing. He was making sure it was done right. The results speak for themselves. His work is clean, organized, and flawless, and the difference is obvious when I compare my updated plumbing setup to other units I looked at before he worked on mine. His attention to detail is on another level. I also want to give a big shout-out to Arley for her help when I first reached out to JGR Plumbing. She kept me updated, provided clear estimates, and communicated Jaren's arrival time for the initial unit check. That kind of responsiveness makes a big difference when you're trying to coordinate repairs. Finally, I have to mention the pricing: for the amount of work completed and the level of quality and professionalism Jaren delivered, the cost was very reasonable and fairly priced for this type of work. If you want a plumber who shows up with skill, integrity, and pride in their work--someone who treats your home the way they'd want theirs treated--I strongly recommend JGR Plumbing.

He changed my toilet and knew where the leak was emerging from which was great. The cons, they are a bit pricey--and I had gotten a few quotes from other plumbers but they did a 28$ fee to come see the issue and then gave a verbal estimate about the repair cost. They came the same day I called and was extremely responsive. The cost to change a toilet, remove my toilet. Fix the leak and assess the damage was 1375. Which is a pretty penny. Other competitors, ive got estimates of 500-700 for just toilet installation (not to fix the leak) and 175 an hour on top of additional fees with slower response time. So I guess it varies between response time, quality and a gamble. I did tell him that I had a budget and if he could work out the cost with me. So that was nice. Would I call them again? What I thought would be about 1k was over 4k. A quarter of the price of my roof project. That's not the expense I thought it would be and I did this to be fair since the roofer has an upsell to remove it and place it back on. Needless to say, I'm going with the roofer's price.
