Also if you bring a stunt or racer kite of your own to the beach you can always buy any replacement parts or strings here. The part that bothered me is all the fake cards they sell. They had an entire shelf of fake singles. They are Chinese counterfeit cards. I see this stuff at card shows and eBay, but not at a shop. To the untrained eye, they look like real cards. Parents be warned. Customer service is meh. The workers were ripping packs which seems an odd thing to do when you have customers in the store. The staff has always taken the time to greet me as I walk in, take a look at my RC car and help me figure out what's wrong and tell me exactly what I need to do or in some cases even show me what to do. I've had such a positive experience every time I've been here! They recently (June 2024) added some fun tracks in the back for customers to use! You can also rent the cars to use back there if you don't have your own. A suspended obstacle course, a drift track and a couple other tracks. If you are into rc cars, or have someone in the family who is, this is definitely a place for you to try out!

But what I've grown to love best about them is their outright disdain for the lowest form of "hobbyist": The drone bro. Call it a "multicopter" all you'd like, pal, but your cheap piece of plastic trash is, at best, flying camera gear and, at worst, a suburban air rights debate just waiting to be solved in the most hostile way possible. I'm pleased that Hillsboro Hobby has never catered to these plugs, and I wish them continued success in selling the exact type of anti-air countermeasures that make these guys think twice about flying them over residential areas.
