The beds are terrible and uncomfortable, linens dirty, one extra blanket smelled of urine, dried bloody booger on the wall, nail clippings and 2 inch thick dirt and junk behind bed and end tables, springs poke you in the back on fold out sofa, carpet filthy and everything probably original. Extremely outdated. When we called management to make them aware, the only offer was to send a cleaning crew to come clean ( they took the urine blanket, vacuumed only what they could reach without moving furniture, wiped booger off wall, but left all webs and junk behind bed), they told us since we were ONLY staying one more night wasn't worth it to move us! Not offer of a credit just a 20% off IF we used them next time to book a stay . We left one night early due to such discomfort . Please look at our photos. read more

We have been a customer of Mammoth Reservation Bureau for years, and even though we had to cancel one trip in April 2020 due to Covid and well within the free cancellation period, Mammoth Reservation Bureau has not returned our deposits. This company has completely closed operations, is ignoring any emails or phone calls and to top it off, not receiving court ordered servings. They don't even have the courtesy to update their website to let potential new customers know that they are out of business. Better stay away from this bureau of nonsense. read more

I CANNOT BELIEVE WHAT OCCURRED THIS TRIP. UNPROFESSIONAL TO SAY THE LEAST. We have been using MRB for over 10 years when we come up to Mammoth. Up until now they have been very professional. My brother and I take an annual trip to Mammoth with my 89 year old dad. We booked our condo, as usual with MRB. When we arrived there was a jacked up truck illegally parked in the one and only Handicap Parking Spot next to the office. We had to park a distance away and my dad had to trek back up the office. Since there were no other customers in the lobby, we mentioned to the clerk that there was a truck illegally parked outside there office and they could get a stiff fine if the sheriff was to come by and notice it. There was an odd silence....so we asked if they new the owner of the truck. We were standing outside when an employee named Savannah came barreling out the door in a huff because she had to move her truck. We mentioned to her that she could receive a stiff fine if cited and her response was.. "It's my parking lot and I can park wherever I want." We were stunned by her attitude and went back into the office where the bookkeeper could not believe what she had heard. The owner (at least we were told he was the owner) came out and apologized for her attitude. Once Savannah realized she wasn't going to get away with her comments, she started backtracking. Saying things like "That's not what I meant.. and " I've had a rough day". It gets better folks.... When we checked out and went back to the office to return the keys we pulled into the handicap spot and noticed Savannah's truck parked behind the building. There was an unfamiliar face behind the registration desk. We turned in our keys and my dad wanted to know the disposition of his 300 deposit. She seemed to have no idea what he was talking about. Then we asked her if she could check what unit we had the previous year. She said she didn't know how to do that. I asked her if Savannah was there and she said "No she isn't here". I mentioned that I saw her truck outside and she then replied "She had to go out to do something". I knew something was up.. So I told her that I was pretty sure Savannah was here and was avoiding us. Seconds later Savannah pops up from under her desk..That's right ..she was HIDING under her desk. Acting like nothing had happened she gave us the information we had requested. We think the other person was merely a friend and did not work for the company. Savannah had convinced her to play the role and then lie to us about her whereabouts. We are seriously considering using another Reservation Company. Management is not paying attention to the underlings and they are really ruining the experience. read more

Q: You are ever so lucky as to be up in a gorgeous mountain town when a huge storm comes in and dumps about eight feet of snow. What is the last thing you want to do? A: Go down into town and return a set of keys that could've easily been left in the lodge office itself if not for the cranky b***ch who basically insisted it was returned to her person or risk additional charges. Nothing about this reservation was made easy and you would think with the expensive pricing Mammoth now commands there would be better customer service. Alas, no. We just arrived after 6 hours of driving to our rental unit in Mammoth and were welcomed by a terrible stench emanating from the pantry ! There is a dead rat in the pantry and another one in the sitting room ! Then we go to bathroom and there is dried out urine all over the toilet When we got hold of the emergency maintenance person , his first reaction was " oh sh...t" In all fairness , they moved us to another condo the next day that was in perfect condition and we were refunded for the first night read more

This place is awful. We reserved a cabin for the weekend and when we arrived friday night, no envelope with our key in the box. It sucks to drive 5+ hours to find out that you don't have a place to stay at 12:30 am. They have an emergency number to call and we left 3 messages. Zero response. What dah heck is the the emergency number for? I should have read the previous reviews before reserving with them. Luckily the Holiday Inn down the street had vacancies. When we finally did contact them during the week, I think the same cranky b**ch from the previous reviewer picked up and said they couldn't do anything. Didn't even say freakin sorry. Shop else where. I've reserved cabins on www.mammothreservations.com (another cabin rental site) and never had a problem with them. Should have stayed with them and will do in the future. I wish I could give them no stars. Avoid. The problem? MRB makes you drive down to their offices in town to return the key on your check out day instead of just leaving the keys with the on site management office at the condos. Why is this a problem? There's a whole mountain of fresh powder calling your name and you are stuck driving into town or taking the shuttle instead of spending time on the mountain. Isn't that the point of being in Mammoth...spending time on the mountain? These guys need to seriously rework their system to be more friendly to people who actually want to ride and not spend time dealing with key returns. read more

This is the worst property management company i have ever dealt with. Not sure how they are still in business. I am the son of an owner of one of the condos in snow creek and could not believe the treatment we received. I had an old key because a couple years back someone had been living in the condo squatting. How can something like this happen when there is a supposed management company taking care of the property. So i arrive to mammoth at 9:15 on a Thursday after a long drive to find my key doesn't work. I call the emergency number and no one picked up and the voicemail was full. I called three more times then she finally picked up. I explained to her i was locked out with three kids in the car and she said there was nothing she could do until the morning. She had a key but would not come and open the door. I called back to my parents and they gave me an on-site manager who quickly came over and let me in. The on-site manager was great but the property management company will be fired shortly. What a joke of a company. read more

I know that MRB can't make owners purchase TV'S from this century and I have no trouble ignoring the cartridge tape player in the entertainment center or lack of TV in the bedroom, but they are responsible for cleaning the room. The filth in our condo was beyond anything I've ever walked into. Stained mattress, stained pillows, extra blankets are not stored in plastic. They don't vacuum the old carpet very well so bring slippers because walking barefoot on this filthy carpet feels disgusting. If you have a problem with dust, don't come at all, it's everywhere. Did I mention that there were only four hangers in the closet? Two plastic and two old wire hangers. There isn't a dresser, but you can use the night stand drawers. We found a mattress cover in the closet, so put it on the mattress ourselves. read more

Luckily, I knew nothing about this business before wandering in last Friday. My daughter and I planned to camp for 4 days in Mammoth and attend the Blue Sky Music Festival. One problem.....30 fucking degrees at night and cold and windy all day. NOT fun. We found this place by accident and were helped promptly. We were booked into a very nice clean and WARM unit at Crestview for around 90 bucks per night. I had no problem turning in the keys to the bureau. We've been reserving cabins and town homes with the Mammoth Reservation Bureau since 2000; back then there were very limited online reservation services. Now there are a handful of new online resources and homeowners renting themselves through generic property managers, but we always find our way back to the original Mammoth resource, MRB! The MRB reservation staff continue to remain professional, friendly and attentive to email responses. They are more personal and helpful when planning your trip. Their office is easy to spot even during snow storms. The key/check out system could use some updating, but we don't mind. We're patient people, but if you book the (older/charming) Snowcreek SC314 unit, make sure to ask if all the plumbing is working correctly. We arrived when the maintenance crew was still fixing the main toilet. Then we found out the master bedroom's toilet plug kept getting stuck and we had to lift the back tank and close the plug down after every flush. I reported this issue to the front desk after we checked out. The kitchen was quaint and decent, although it did not have a lot of utensils (particularly forks/spoons) or matching pot covers (we had to use our own foil at times. The appliances are dated, but they were all functioning properly, so that was good! Cabin 101: Bring your own sponge and extra rolls of paper towels and toilet paper! We were a party of 12, we probably should have brought disposable plates and eating utensils. Overall, we had a wonderful stay in this well-kept, cozy, charming, comfortable town home. Good recommendation for large groups and families on an o.k. budget. read more

I've used this reservation company the past 3 times I've stayed in Mammoth and quite surpised with the bad reviews (although the reviews are a bit dated). I had my wedding in Mammoth this past weekend and I was able to get a discount since we were rented 6 condos through their company. No other reservation company was willing to do this! There is a big difference between the 3 star and 4 star condos. We rented four 3 bedroom condos and unit 32 was so much nicer than the other three. read more

The customer service at this place is absolutely ridiculous. No one in the office does anything! You can't make a reservation for anytime after March, due to the manager, Savannah, being lazy and not getting the summer rates posted. They never return phone calls. The manager acts as if she doesn't care about anything when speaking to her. She also looks as if she just got out of bed! No one looks like they want to be there or put any effort into anything. A friend of mine booked through them and when they arrived, the office staff never processed their reservation(which was made 20 days in advance) so they didn't have a condo to check in to. The worst part, they booked and paid for a 3 bedroom condo but due to them not doing their job, they had none available so instead, they put them into a studio and REFUSED to refund them any amount of money for their own mistake. Another huge issue is that, the cops are actually now involved with the company because they have not paid their owners any money for the rentals since April of 2019! They aren't taking care of their own clients to the point of legal action being taken. This place is a joke and I wold never recommend it. Ever. Everything about it is absolutely terrible. The staff are lazy, everything is disorganized and no one cares to do anything to improve it. They will not be in business for long. Boo!! read more

***DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMANY*** After many trips to Mammoth, I was shocked at the terrible condition of the condo we rented, and even more surprised by the terrible customer service from Mammoth Reservation Bureau. You have many options in Mammoth - do NOT choose this one! Our condo was filthy. From the reviews, we expected some dust. We did not expect animal excrement on the carpet in front of the sliding door, hairballs in the tub, or the overpowering stench of cigarette smoke. If I had packed my tent, I would have slept on the deck - it was the cleanest part of the condo. When we called Mammoth Reservation Bureau, the response was that the owner had stayed at the property and waived the cleaning. No offer to clean it. No apology. When contacted after our stay about this issue, we received no response. If you are looking to rent a condo - look elsewhere. If you are a property owner looking for a property manager - run. read more

I stayed in a condo managed by MRB with a 2 other families. I have rented several condos in Mammoth/June Lake over the years and this was the WORST condo I've ever stayed in (Mammoth Point - MP101). The condo was full of cobwebs, dust everywhere--everyone had allergies acting up, no spare towels (exactly 10 body towels/10 people), mildew in bathrooms, kitchen was just surface cleaned (food/crumbs in grout), carpets not well vacuumed (debris that could've easily been vacuumed was left behind), an empty beer bottle in the "kids bunk room" under the bed, the laundry area was a mess. I wanted to give this company the benefit of the doubt. But BELIEVE all the negative reviews about this company. They're neglectful of their properties. I will NEVER rent another property managed by this company again. read more

An extremely dirty, filthy apartment was provided to us by Mammoth Reservations Bureau for a 3 night stay. Yes we had requested an early check in, but ONLY if the rental unit was ready and available, and front desk staff confirmed that it was. In the unit, the countertops had a layer of grime, bathroom was disgustingly dirty, and debris was all over the carpet. Sheets, blankets, and pillows smelled of body odor. Initially I simply requested that housekeeping come again since it was possible the unit may have been overlooked. Housekeeping came when we stepped out to pick up some groceries, but did not really clean the unit. I contacted the front desk and asked to speak with the manager, but the employees repeatedly lied about the availability and whereabouts of the managers (Cole and Christina). After getting the runaround from employees over the phone, we decided to show up in person. The employee that "helped" us did not care in the least about the issue, refused to provide alternative accommodations, and refused to refund the unused portion of our stay, and refused to let us speak with someone else. She was, to no surprise, pathetically rude and incompetent to say the least. It became clear this was a repeat issue for them and they had become careless towards these complaints. I will attach pictures of the debris we saw on the carpet, which only barely scratches the surface as to how filthy the unit was - and not the kind of dirty a unit might get in between stays - more like this unit hadn't been cleaned for many, many stays. If California's health department ever visited this apartment, the owners would get multiple citations, or worse, the unit would be deemed uninhabitable. ****We were deceived about this rental from the start. We thought we were booking a unit through VRBO, but when we arrived and proceeded to pick up the keys, we discovered Mammoth Reservations Bureau was deceptively using the VRBO website (Vacation Rentals By OWNERS) to falsely advertise and rent out their dirty accommodations. Please be aware of their dishonest practices.*** Now we understand why Mammoth Reservations Bureau has a reputation for being the worst rental agency in the greater Mammoth Lakes area. The beginning of our rental started out good. In booking the condo, I was allowed to use a 10% off coupon, even though it was the end of the holiday period. the price was good, the selection of condos was good. When we arrived the condo was clean and pleasant, in a good location. My big problem came at the end of our stay. Checking out was a pain. They were so insistent about getting keys back to the office, and so intransigent about trying to work something out. the snow plows were still out and the main highway was closed. There was no way anyone was showing up at that condo anytime soon. I would suggest they need to work out a system for guests to be able to drop keys off with the on-site manager, or leave them in the condo for the cleaning crew to pick-up. At very least they could be friendly and helpful about adjusting the drop off time. I'll certainly think twice before booking through them again. read more

We stayed in a complex called Val Disere (unit 137). MRB has a nice range of places that they book. We had picked a more budget friendly place so there was no wifi, but everything else was fine. Cozy, decent kitchen, plenty of blankets, a spare bed in the closet, etc.The staff was helpful and very kind, considering that we were kind of snowed in on our last morning. We needed chains (which we didn't have) to get the 2-3 miles to the highway, so they let us hang out for a bit after checkout time until the roads were clearer. Obviously, they had the luxury of being so magnanimous because no one was booked for that night, but it was nice of them still. read more

I've used Mammoth Reservations Bureau 3 times in the last two seasons. In my experiences, they have demonstrated professionalism, exceptional customer service, and knowledge of the rental inventory. For my last trip, I looked at VRBO for at least two hours trying to find a pet friendly condo near the village during the holidays to no avail. I called MRB and spoke to Elsa... she was able to find me a suitable condo at Fireside during the dates I needed... A huge Thank You Elsa. In the furture, MRB will be my first choice when looking for properties. I'm puzzled by the negative reviews, and wonder if people are confusing Mammoth Reservations for Mammoth Reservations Bureau. We had an amazing vacation thanks to the gorgeous condo and friendly staff at MRB! They were completely accommodating of our late Sunday check-in. The unit was beautiful and had everything we could have possibly needed, including free wi-fi and long distance phone. The managers on site were friendly and happy to answer all of our questions. We walked to the lifts every morning. There is nothing that could have made this vacation better, and while I can understand other complaints of dropping the keys down in town- this is a condo, not a hotel! You stay there to have the amenities of home, and in that regard, MRB far exceeded our expectations! read more

We booked a four-night reservation through Mammoth Reservation Bureau at Bigwood Condominiums. After a six-hour drive we picked up our keys at this property management office, and proceeded to the rental. To our disappointment, the unit was literally a construction zone with scaffolding running up the wall from the ground all the way to the second-floor bedroom. Orange cones are barricading vehicles and pedestrians from entry along the building, and a notice of construction is on the front door of the unit. A neighbor, who stated he is a Board member, informed us that the plan is for a jackhammer to come in to cut up the asphalt. We are unable to use the Master Bedroom as the scaffolding is presently placed right outside that window, and the workman even left his tools on it. This certainly indicates that he is going to be working directly outside that bedroom window at the start of his work day. When we discovered this, I immediately called the Mammoth Reservation Bureau back, and though the phone was answered, I was told they were closed and that they were not responsible for the situation. No resolution was offered. We are spending our first evening of vacation worrying about being in the middle of a construction zone all week, and wondering how to try to resolve the situation tomorrow once the Bureau opens again. The Bureau does not want to take responsibility for our situation, and obviously the owner didn't. We were charged $150 per night, which had to be paid in advance. Had we had to cancel our stay for any reason there would have been no refund available. We did this with the understanding that we would be provided a unit that was not under construction, and that we would have full enjoyment of the unit, and be able to utilize it for the requirements of daily living, which includes sleep, eating meals, and having a measure of privacy. Buyer beware! I noticed while researching the local rental regulations that the local government of Mammoth is very concerned about the actions of tourists and that they not disturb the local citizenry. What about businesses like the Mammoth Reservation Bureau and condominium owners being required to ensure their property is in legally habitable condition before collecting a rental fee up front? Today I received an email from Mammoth Mountain regarding accommodations, ski packages etc and the Header of the email showed a United Airplane and the caption spoke of an airfaire sale at United... it boasts: flights from LA, SFO and DEN and listed the amazing prices. There were "book by:" dates and "use by" dates. So I clicked on the link to United Airlines and the special pricing was nowhere to be found. For 2 hours I was on the phone with Mammoth and with United and at one point I conferenced them together to find the flights that would comply with this "LOUD" advertisement in the email. At the end of it all, the customer service rep for Mammoth had to acquiesce that in fact - there were no special fares, there was no sale and all the pricing on United was their normal pricing. The United Supervisor explained to me and the customer service rep from Mammoth that in order for United to have a special fare, they would attach a coupon or a link. But that's not the case with the email from Mammoth - which clearly states that United is "lowering their fares" - IT IS ALL A LIE. Mammoth should be ashamed of themselves for false marketing. AND Mammoth should be held responsible for LYING. It's bad business all around! read more

I have used quite a few Mammoth reservations agencies over the years. They are all good, but Mammoth Reservations Bureau stands out with their quality of service. We rented condos through them twice this year and not only their staff is very courteous, but they also went an extra mile for us recently. There was a fire on the 395, the road was shut down around Bishop and we could not get through. Normally, we'd end up losing the money we had already paid for the condo. Cole from MRB worked it out with the owner of the Fireside at the Village condo 111 and they let us move to another date. Check out this property. The location is fantastic and it is much more affordable than the village. It is right next to the 80|50 in the village, just steps from the gondola. read more

I shouldn't be held responsible for the coronavirus. We made reservations through Mammoth Reservation Bureau as we have for the last 20 years that we have been going to Mammoth. We never get trip insurance. We've never needed it. And we didn't get it this time. We had no intention of cancelling. However, the night before we were to leave, Saturday night, a friend who works for mammoth mountain informed us the mountain would be closed the next day due to the virus! I immediately called the reservation bureau to inquire about a refund or a postponement of the reservation. Not only would the woman who answered the phone, I think she is the manager, Savanah, not agree to a refund she would offer absolutely no compensation. I didn't even want a refund. I just wanted to push out the reservation for a few weeks until the mountain opened. She refused to do one single thing to help. All she could keep saying was "unfortunately this and unfortunately that". She wouldn't call the owner of the condo, she wouldn't do anything. There has to be some kind of stipulation for this kind of extenuating circumstances in the business world. How could we possibly have foreseen something like this. I even checked the mountain's website Friday to be sure they were open and they were. It looked like all systems go. This woman has absolutely no customer service skills whatsoever and should not be dealing with the public in any capacity. She apparently has no concern for the reputation or success of the business. If you are going to Mammoth - I highly recommend you take your business somewhere else. We are now out our entire weeks lodging expenses. For something that is clearly out of our control, we should not be penalized!!!!!! If it was possible to give minus stars I would. Worst agency ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stayed at 16 chateau sans nom which was a pet friendly 4 bdrm condo. We only stay at Pet friendly places and found this place to be dirty with stained carpets. The barbeque did not work, big screen TV was broken, closet door was off the hinge, and trash can broken, and no extra trash bags. So dirty that when you walked barefoot on the tile your feet turned black. Thought we left a back pack in the condo and asked 3 times if they found it, still no answer???? This company advertises on VRBO and I thought I was renting from a owner direct. The condo was not where they said it was. I thought I was getting a condo in the Village and it was way down the street in a dumpy complex called Fireside. The pool was mildew infested and the condo was outdated and freezing cold. Used MRB to rent a basic condo for a spring break weekend. Scored small 1BR about 100 yards from chair 15, an easy walk. It was an older unit, decorated in "early batchelor" but we knew that going in. Beds were comfy. Staff was efficient and helpful, sent a maintenance guy out when we had an issue with the wood stove. We returned to a lit fire :) Key drop-off is the same at every other Mammoth rental place, these are individually owned condos/cabins, not a hotel, folks. read more

I'm going to have to agree with the comments about the cranky biatch. I only called to see what I need to do to pick up my keys because I got no information from them after I made my reservation. She was incredibly rude and short; very unappreciative to customers. She kept trying to cut me off and answer my questions before I even finished talking in an incredulous effort to get me off the phone. In addition, I made my reservation within two weeks of the travel days and had to pay the entire amount for the condo upfront, with no cancellation option (even with a fee). After I made the reservation online, all I got for a confirmation email was a 1 page receipt showing what I was charged. There was no room number on the receipt and when I called to ask about this, they said it was because they reserved the right to change their guests into similar units in order to maximize their occupancy rates. I wish I had checked Yelp before using MRB. The organization sounded quite official. We have stayed all over the west at ski towns both in condos and hotels. What was suppose to be a 4 star property (on the brochure) ended up being a two star (admitted by staff at check out!) We made the reservation just a couple days before arrival and the person assisting us seemed very helpful by going through numerous properties that could meet our needs. Once we agreed on the property (a four star) our credit card was charged (non refundable). We arrived to a 2 star property with safety issues and damages from what we guessed were from the winter tenants(?) When we looked over our itemized invoice, after our cc was charged (non refundable mind you and for a 2 star not a 4 star property), we found a linen fee and booking fee. Neither was disclosed to us at the time of booking. Interestingly, at the time of booking we were told to bring our own towels for the hot tub or we would be charged extra. HMMMM. So buyer beware. Their flip response to the condition of the condo was that we could have requested to be moved....to where? We had already gone through many properties with the booking agent. We were there to ski, planning to get up early for a morning of summer skiing so moving would have been quite disruptive, if they even had a another condo available. The insult was the misrepresentation/condition of the condo and the fees disclosed after our card was charged. It seemed the managers were well versed in putting off complaints.
