Stepping into Mammaw's Sweet Shop feels like a warm hug, instantly greeted by the comforting scent of freshly baked cookies that Tina meticulously prepares daily. This beloved Lafayette institution, which has graced our community for over two decades, truly lives up to its name, carrying forward a legacy of cherished family recipes, reputedly from the original 'Mammaw.' My recent dinner visit was a delightful experience, with the cozy atmosphere (9/10) providing the perfect backdrop for indulging in their incredible confections. The food quality here is consistently outstanding (9/10), and the custom cakes for events are simply works of art. However, the absolute must-try, and what truly stands out, are the Fancy Cupcakes--each a little masterpiece of flavor and decoration. It's clear that everything is made with passion and precision. The service (10/10) from Tina and her team is exceptionally friendly and attentive, making every guest feel valued. From the moment you arrive, you sense the dedication to quality and customization. If you're looking for something truly special, this is the place to go. The value (9/10) for such high-quality, handcrafted treats is excellent. I absolutely will be returning to Mammaw's Sweet Shop for more sweet delights. Pro-Tip: Parking is easy to find read more

Special ordered a bday cake. The decorations looked nice and the flavor was good, but the texture was very dry and flaky and the cake kinda just fell apart. Won't come back. read more

Ordered large sheet cake with logo for a special occasion. It was beautiful AND everyone loved the moist, tasty cake

Well I placed an order By phone, on Friday March 27th for a pie that I needed for today Monday March 30th. I go pick it up its not been made because it was not already paid for, in which if they would of told me on the phone I needed to pay I would have. So I took my business elsewhere. They need to train their employees better at taking orders and to make sure they tell you that it has to be paid for when order is made. read more

Mammaw's is amazing! I called them asking for a birthday cake the week of, and they were so fast, the cake was delicious and beautiful! On Friday I was unable to pick up my cake due to a negative circumstance coming up so I called them apologizing for the inconvenience and I said my friend would come 4 minutes after they close and they were SO KIND AND HELPFUL! Honestly they go above and beyond and are just great people! I absolutely suggest this place to everyone!! read more

Rude rude rude! I didn't feel welcomed nor was the worker helpful while I was ordering. And the quality and size of cupcakes is ridiculous. I'll take my business elsewhere... read more

We've been off and on customers for years. I stopped in to order a birthday cake, buy father's day cookies, and also bought cupcakes for my kiddos. Everything was delicious! There's a really fine balance between making something beautiful, but still assuring that it tastes good. They hit the nail on the head! read more

Their cupcakes and cake are amazing. Their icing is light and the perfect texture and sweetness. Their cake is also perfectly light and delicious. I don't even like cake that much usually. so good. read more

Mammaw's Sweet Shoppe did a beautiful job with the buttercream icing two tiered cake. The bottom was chocolate with a raspberry filling and the top was funfetti. They were unable to do gumpaste orchids, so I added fresh orchids myself. They were also unable to do the 3d fondant guitar like I asked for, so I did that myself. The smoothness of the butter cream, the plaques and writing were impeccable. However, the cake was dry and there was practically no filling in the cake whatsoever. I think i've had better box cake mix. The icing got good reviews though. The manager and bakers were very attentive to make sure that every detail was correct, and the cake came out exactly as ordered, and well within time for me needing it. If the cake tasted better, they were able to do the accessory items I had requested, and they were less expensive, I would give them five stars. read more

My favorite cakes & icing in the area. Variety of delicious bakery goods including cookies & cupcakes, affordable, and excellent customer service. Came here on a weekday to pick up cookies randomly as other coworkers have brought it to the office and they are delicious Parking is ample as this is located in a empty strip mall disappointing though that there were only two people working and three of us came from the office which ended up causing a line The cookie selection is limited but delicious from regular size to jumbo size The decoration of the cookies is always creative and fun We decided to be adventurous and order a variety of cupcakes however these were a bit lackluster in taste although they looked attractive in the case Pricing is fair On this particular day that we visited it was my first time at the business and the two employees were not the friendliest nor the most helpful especially when posed with questions about the flavors available in cupcakes and cookies that day I wish I had pictures to post unfortunately we devoured all of the goodies we had each purchased that day too quickly read more

Ordered two dozen cupcakes for a baby shower. The cupcakes themselves were awesome. The only thing is I wished they were prettier. I had the option to have pink icing but they upcharged for everything. Even with the extra cost for pearl like sprinkles and gold foil, they were still reasonable. Will definitely order again. read more

My boyfriends mom got us desserts delivered from Mammaw's for his birthday. We got blueberry crumble pie and sugar cream pie, as well as an assortment of four cupcakes. All of them were delicious! The pies were the perfect consistency and all the flavors were there, as well as the crust being top notch and not over baked. The cupcakes were very moist and flavorful and the icing on top was tasty - almost like a meringue style. I can't say much about the price as we didn't pay for it, but I would definitely order from here again. read more

I have order cookies and cupcakes from here and they are fantastic, but my most amazing experience was when I ordered my wedding cake. I didn't want anything to crazy and decided to get with the fake display cake and then 2 full sheet cakes. Not only was my fake cake GORGEOUS, no one knew it was fake! The sheet cakes were to die for, that we had very little left. The best part? I didn't break the bank on these! I shopped around, and they were the most reasonable. Oh and the customer service was phenomenal! read more

My friends and I have ordered many cakes, cookies, cupcakes and $1 (dollar) cupcake day events for over 5 years for each other here. We enjoy supporting local small businesses. My friend ordered a birthday cake here as my gift. It was decorated beautifully on the outside. The cake order: one chocolate cake layer and one carrot cake layer with their vanilla almond buttercream. I was very disappointed when I sliced into the cake!!! There was no chocolate layer, but a spot of chocolate and the cake tasted like gingersnaps. I later found out my friend, who ordered the cake, mentioning one of the staff members called him, letting him know something was wrong with the cake and for him to stop in immediately to talk to Aaron. My friend was across the street at Tippecanoe Mall, so he was able to stop in within 5 minutes and once he had gotten there. The staff member tells him Aaron had just left. (Why would you leave, after you call your customer and the customer tells you he's across the street from your business and is stopping by like right now???). My friend also mentioned a staff member (a nice short young lady) blurts out the cake was made incorrectly and why did we decorate it!?! She continued to hand my friend the cake and told him to contact Aaron, which he did later. My friend was very annoyed with the lack of customer service and unprofessional staff, as well as, Aaron. (Staff is a reflection of management, so I do not fault them at all.) We do not understand why a bakery, knowing the mistake to move forward, having their cake decorator decorate it!?! This is not the first time I have had issues. First time with another cake order was for my wedding and the issue was minor so I let it go. Their bake goodies is not phenomenal, but I still have referred many friends to patronize this local business and sad this is how they represent themselves. read more

I attended a consultation meeting with Mamaw's Sweet Shoppe with my future sister in law in preparation for her wedding. Mammaw's let us sample a variety of cupcake flavors, show ideas from Pinterest and the internet, and gave a quote for proposed ideas. They were professional and gave their opinions without being over-bearing. Their suggestion was to use a dummy cake for the centerpiece of the wedding desserts, then serve from a variety of sheet cakes. You can keep the dummy cake after the wedding or return it to receive credit for them being able to reuse the foam boards. I'll definitely update as we continue through the wedding planning process with Mammaw's. It is also really nice for weddings because the owners of Mammaw's also have a decor business and parter with a flower shop. It really simplifies the wedding planning process for a bride and her family. My suggestion--try the peanut butter lover cake/cupcake. It was amazingly delicious! read more

Have ordered cakes and cookies from them for years! We always get great customer service and they always go above and beyond! This will be the last time we'll get to order from them since we'll be moving out of town, so I thought I'd leave a review. Their cakes are always moist and have a little extra to them that make them that much more special. All of our guests raved about the cake we got from them this last time. And their sugar cookies are out of this world! They're not overly sickeningly sweet and have the perfect icing to cookie ratio in my opinion. My favorite is their cookies and cream cupcakes/cake. (I seriously have dreams about them) They also have some great seasonal cupcakes that I look forward to like the sweet corn cupcake. Yummmm Overall, this place comes highly recommended and I'd recommend getting your special event cakes/cookies from here because you won't be disappointed. read more

This place has the VERY best of everything sweet in Lafayette!! They made my daughter's dream come true with an amazing wedding cake and desserts!!! We live out of town and Aaron and Tina were amazing in their customer service, talent and joy!! I can't recommend them enough! read more

I will admit most of the cupcakes were very good. Some of them were alright, but the thing that really irritated me was the Aaron's lack of communication. We showed a picture of our couple cake we wanted, three weeks before the wedding. The night before the wedding, my husband got a text from Aaron asking what we wanted. Also, didn't hear back from Aaron until three weeks from the wedding. Communication was not consistent, and not professional. Please do your research before you go with this particular vender. read more

Customer service is terrible! I was told by their consultant I wouldn't find a cake for my wedding even close to as good as Mammaw's, however, I found a better Bakery! The consultant I spoke with was rude and pretentious not to mention making comments about "being a redneck." I asked about having the "naked" style wedding cake and the response was "this is how we do it and what you will get." I'm so happy I chose to look elsewhere for my cake because I'll be getting more cake that tastes better than Mammaw's, exactly the way I want it to look, delivered from Carmel, Indiana which is double the distance Mammaw's is from my wedding reception all for less than I was quoted at Mammaw's. read more

I'd go elsewhere they messed up our wedding cake brought cupcakes promised a anniversary cake free never honored. Lost our business

I attempted to work with Aaron on having Mamaws doing our wedding cake and cupcakes because their cupcakes are amazing, however due to his lack of response to emails and inability to read emails all the way through we will not be doing business with Mamaws. I first discovered Mammaw's when I was looking for my wedding reception cake and first fell in love with the flavors and then ambiance of the store itself...I was fearful I would not be able to find a place willing to make, what I felt, were two unique cakes. However, Mammaw's accomplished both cakes, with ease and grace. The cakes were delicious and exactly what I wanted. They listed to what I asked for, added the professionalism that can only be done, by well only professionals, and then crafted works of art. Then, I encountered Mammaw's in my day to day life, working as a wedding planner. I've seen them craft beautiful pieces of art for some of the pickest clients around, all while juggling 9-15 cakes in a single day and not break a sweat. They are goal orientated and customer focused. I think that any negative reviews on here are because maybe Mammaw's was being honest and the client didn't want to hear it, but at the end of the day, I would rather hear it straight, then be fed a line and over charged for something that wasn't exactly what I wanted. I go to Mammaw's for every birthday, holiday and any wedding needs I have because they get it right every time. Period. read more

My friend used Mammaw's for their wedding recently. The cupcakes were VERY late arriving for the wedding and when they called to check, they kept getting different stories on where they were. They waited 6.5 hours beyond the promised delivery time. Apparently Josh Lindbloom had an order that bumped the wedding order because they asked 'do you know who he is?' Josh's money must spend differently. They ordered a separate cake to use as their 'take-home' anniversary cake. When ordering, they were asked if they wanted 'bling'? It was expensive, but they figured why not. After the ceremony and reception, they realized there was no box for the take home cake. When they returned the cupcake stand, they were asked to return the 'bling' from the cake. Nowhere in the contract did it say the 'bling' was a rental item. No apologies for the lateness, just excuses and bad service. No more business will go there. read more
