We started with a pitcher of red Sangria - great! Then we split the lemon pancakes that were light, fluffy and not sweet bit delicate lemon zest. Such a great restaurant with friendly staff and authentic Italian food. I came here on my own for their happy hour on a Friday night and sat at the bar. So glad I did because I got to speak with the host, who was so attentive, and talk with some other diners and the bartender. I of course had to get the spritz flight. Every single one was made perfectly! You get a limoncello, a Hugo and an Aperol for $15. Full sized! I had the meat balls and pesto gnocchi the goat night and can I just say... I was told the gnocchi would be like pillows and I was not lied to. Such good food that I came back the next day with my sister and brother in law. I dined at this restaurant several times and I always had a great experience. I went back last month and had a terrible experience. We ordered one small appetizer which took 30 minutes to arrive. Another 40 minutes passes, so I ask my waiter why the entrees are taking so long. He said he is waiting to fire the entrees so we can finish our appetizer. Huh? We had one small appetizer for 3 people. Then the entrees arrive and the same pasta I have ordered many times before was dry because there was not enough sauce. I asked for a side of sauce and I was told it would cost extra even though I complained that the pasta was dry and didn't have enough sauce. I agreed. 20 minutes later, I still didn't receive my side of sauce and my entree is getting cold. I complained to my waiter and said can they please remake the dish with an adequate amount of sauce. The new pasta returns swimming in an absurd amount of sauce. At this point, I gave up and returned my dish and left shortly after and went to the Capital Grille for dinner. The owners were not at the restaurant that night and I am wondering is the staff stopped caring because the owners were away. read more

Old school decor with classic landscape murals on the walls, white tablecloths, quiet sophisticated music playing. Service was knowledgeable and so attentive, and the pizelle appetizer, bucatini amatriciana with guanciale, bucatini with meatballs and pappardelle with mushrooms and sausage cream sauce were all phenomenal. 3 couples decided to try this space out cause we saw reviews and Instagram that it was really good and authentic. We made reservations for Valentine's Day. Once we got there, the host table was outside which I get if they want more space inside but we were ushered into this tent that was connected to the restaurant like a ooo up tent as if we were tail gating. That in itself was horrible. I gave this 2 stars instead of 1 because at least our service was nice. However, the website did not say that the menu would be limited and we all literally wanted other items that were on the main menu. Even calamari they couldn't make. That's a staple at Italian restaurants! So then we order our drinks, it took 35 minutes for our drinks to arrive. After we got drinks, it took another 15 for the waiter to come back to take our order and then we waited about 40 minutes for the food. Then we ordered another round of drinks and that took another 30 minutes to get to us. Why would Prosecco take 30 minutes to pour? The food was not outstanding at all, felt like I was just at Olive Garden. The carbonara was $28 and the veal was $42. For how the food tasted it should not have been that much. All in all, terrible experience, won't go back. Please do not overbook yourselves to sit people at an extension outside your restaurant that made it less special. The service is great and the drink options were great pairings for our appetizers. We started with the Famous Pizzelle which is fluffy fried pizza dough topped with tomato sauce and parm. Very good but wish it came with a side of tomato sauce for dipping! Went with the Trio Signature Platter for our main which is a TON of food for 2 people but let us try three popular dishes. My favorite was the Amatriciana which had perfectly seared guanciale and soft tomatoes that made up the sauce with a little bit of spice in it. Came here for restaurant week with some friends last Friday. We were seated right away there was no wait on a Friday at 7pm which was nice. The meatballs were great I would definitely get that again as an appetizer I wasn't super impressed with the pizzelle the bread on it felt over toasted or stale possibly? The bolognese was our least favorite of the pastas it just kind of fell flat not much flavor. I loved the mushroom paparadelle I ordered --the pasta was great and the sausage in it was wonderful. We also got the carbonara which was also a winner the flavor was awesome. I think the portions are maybe a little small for the price but you can tell they are high quality pastas. The dessert is where they lost us all 3 desserts we ordered were not enjoyable and I think with Italian restaurants good dessert is extremely important I wouldn't mind coming here again but I'm also not dying to read more

I kept passing by and finally took the time to go in. It's a quaint place. Decor is a " do it yourself " kind of feel with the plastic grass and large decal images on the wall. The place is wanting to be upscale, but it's not upscale. I don't know how to explain it. The menu has a nice variety of dishes. I didn't think the polpette was good, the sauce was overly salted and the meatball dry -as if it was handled too much during preparation. I had the eggplant dish alla Norma. I thought it was delicious. The table bread wasn't all that, but the service- -specifically Lorenzo, was terrific! The desert of profiteroles was yummy! I came here with a large group of 20 for a friends birthday. The service was top notch! The food on the other hand, was just OK. My husband and I shared the lobster ravioli and the seafood pasta and we were a little disappointed. The lobster ravioli had way too much sauce, so you don't even taste the lobster, and the seafood pasta didn't have any sauce so it just tasted like noodles. My husband and I enjoyed our evening so much. They also had a strawberry infused tiramisu. The server recommended baileys with it and it was good. What if I told you that a benevolent Italian family from Florence, who uses old family recipes opened up a restaurant in PHX? Mamma Lucy's is a gem and genuinely the most authentic Italian restaurant I've been too in the valley. Tuna carpaccio to start- delicate, light, lemony. The tuna was ultra fine and thin, melt-in-your-mouth good. The chicken parm was incredible. Mamma Lucy was on my list of new restaurants to check out for quite some time, so I was excited to finally go there with family last Sunday evening to celebrate a birthday! We were able to make a reservation for our party of 7 without a problem and were seated promptly upon arrival (actually some were seated promptly upon arrival and some came a bit later, but that was not a problem!) We went through some bread and olive oil while we waited for our apps and entrees to arrive... the kids especially enjoyed that. As for the appetizers, I was the only one who ended up eating a Famous Pizzelle (crispy, lightly fried pizza dough, tomato sauce, and Parmigiano). I described it as a pizza meets donut combo, but no one else was interested! I ate one of the three that came with the order. The eggplant and calamari were both hits for the entire group, however. I actually went with a special salad as my entree and I was happy with it! I believe it was the Lucia with shrimp and was comprised of romaine lettuce, red onions, celery, fennel, cherry tomatoes, capers, olives, shaved parmigiano, and lemon dressing. Others at the table enjoyed chicken parm, veal, and pasta... There was live opera singing on the night we were there, which was definitely unique, albeit a tad bit loud! The service was attentive and I believe the owner was onsite checking in often.
