I saw some menu items that sounded light and refreshing (like the lox with cucumbers) and figured it was worth a try. As I followed my GPS and other people walking in, I had no idea what to expect -- but the moment I stepped inside, I was blown away. The space is filled with beautifully curated shops and venues all under one roof, and the energy was vibrant, electric, and welcoming. People of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures were there -- it truly felt like a community gathering spot that instantly felt like home. I placed my order, grabbed the lox and a Coca‑Cola, and found a free table amidst so many people enjoying themselves. The community feel was unmistakable -- people chatting, laughing, and soaking up the atmosphere. The food was wonderful, the service was fantastic, and overall the experience was unforgettable. If you're looking for a place that's more than just a meal -- one with real heart, vibe, and community spirit -- this is it

That said, I was disappointed by the size. For $20, I expected a thick, hearty sandwich, but this felt pretty skimpy for the price. Ordering was also a bit frustrating -- I had to repeat myself three times, and the employee taking my order had AirPods in. When your job involves communicating with customers, that really shouldn't be allowed by management. Good flavors, but between the small portion and the ordering experience, it's only 3 stars for me.

The food had always been delicious until this last visit. Given we are regulars at the place, we know the quality of the food has been consistently fantastic and the wait for the food is typical - not too fast or slow - enough to prepare the meal given how busy the place has always been. This last time, however, it was a good 45 minutes before the order came to the table. Neither one of our meals was very good. I was very hypiglycemic by this point and so I ate the french toast that was completely uncooked inside. At first I wasn't thrilled that the bread was considerably smaller than it used to be until i bit into it to find cold wet mush. I should not have eaten it at all. My friend had ordered a patty melt - medium which should be light pink in the center. It was bloody red. She sent it back and about 20 min later it came back exavtly the same. She sent it back again. Another 20 minutes later it came back well done and with spices in the meat that made the meat taste lousy. So now she had a burger that wass over cooked and tasted bad. She didnt gat to eat because by that time we were done. I wish i had turned back the french toast. I kept hoping with every bite it might be cooked. Not one bite was cooked. Not even one. Being hypoglycemic I felt like I would lose my cool if I didnt eat something so I ate. It turns out the place had been bought and the new owner really didnt care. We got to talk to the brother of the new owner who only said that the place has been very busy and that should speak to the quality. He couldnt care less about our experience. All I have to say is that they are going to be losing a lot of money having to replace meals and once people find out about the sudden drop in quality of the food, those peeople that have been filling the place will not be returning as we wont be either. We refuse to go somewhere that the owners could care less about their patrons.

They just keep placing another brisket on, and the ribbons of beef keep falling. The order counter is tiny, with a line out the door: regulars, tourists like me, and food delivery drivers all waiting their turn. There are meat trimmings everywhere, tubs of pickles, and the sense that the folks behind the counter know exactly what they are doing. The small dining room is packed with people sitting elbow to elbow, gripping massive sandwiches with stadium mustard in the corners of their mouths. It is loud, cramped, messy, and glorious. I've gone to heaven.

I joined the line just before 11 and got inside about 11:50 AM. I'm currently standing in line waiting on my sandwich which is a corned beef melt. I ordered a corned beef melt, which is toasted rye, cornbeef, double Swiss cheese - hot & melted with Kraut on the side and dressing. I got a side of potato pancakes, and also coleslaw. The folks were extremely friendly on the inside, very welcoming and very efficient as they worked to make who knows how many meals. And you'll be glad to know every sandwich comes with a dill pickle, wrapped in its own paper and ready for delicious consumption! The dill is a big deal to me because I like spears, as in the pickle not necessarily (in this case) the pop star! Come early and be ready to wait! The place is really kitchsy and has a great atmosphere. And the folks really make it awesome to be there. It has the feel of a destination restaurant the kind of place that is an experience to visit not just because of the food because of the culture and the people and the phenom that it has become.

I visited Milky Way for lunch. It's a kosher vegetarian cafe with an attached catering business…read more(PKC - Preferred Kosher Catering). As much as I wanted to love Milky Way, it wasn't for me for various reasons. The cafe is spacious and casual. You order at the counter and seat yourself, which keeps things simple and quick. You can also order at the tablets located by the checkout for self-service. It seemed like a go to location for the Jewish community with a lot of guests dining in and socializing. This community building was great to witness. The cafe has everything - to-go options, bagels, bread (lots of choices), pizza, smoothies, calzones, and more. I included pictures of the menu. I ordered two coffees, chocolate pastry, cheese danish, and Kani salad from the to go fridge. Coffees were self-serve and tasted like some cheap ground coffee. Chocolate pastry and cheese danish looked really tasty. But both were stale, I'd say a few days old. I would really enjoy them if they were fresh, they were really big. Kani bowl reminded me of poke bowl but with imitation crab. The idea was amazing, portion very generous but execution not so much. The rice was not fully cooked, and again the whole thing tasted like it was in the fridge for a while. It had sell by date or 5/7. It's too bad nothing was fresh, this food really had potential. I saw several people takeout pizza so maybe that's a better choice at this cafe. Service was not friendly at all. Not to the guests who seemed new not to those who seemed regulars. When I asked questions about pastries, it was somewhat dismissive. It just wasn't a pleasant interaction. I was disappointed. If you're in the area and looking for a meat-free or kosher option, Milky Way might be a good cafe to checkout. Perhaps stop by for a pizza or earlier in the morning for fresher food.
