Mamma's Pizza is our 'hometown' Italian joint here in little ole Rhoadesville, VA. The food is always consistent and the place is always clean. The servers are all quite young, but for the most part respectful. I think the most impressive part of the restaurant is that they handle large crowds VERY well. We never really wait too long and if you are seen standing around, they will ask if you need anything. My go to there is the Steak and Cheese with egg sub... oh my goodness... it's so good. They are also the only place that typically does justice to fries that I ask be crispy (double dunked). They recently started serving beer and wine too which was really good. The pizza if you get it in house is so fresh and yummy. I have not ordered anything for pick up so I can't speak to how it holds up, but, the fries hold up pretty good but then again, I only have about 2 miles to go. The only thing that kind of sucks is they don't do deliveries, nor do they participate in DoorDash, GrubHub, or Uber Eats. There is a Mamma's in Orange I think that does, but, not sure if they are a sister store or what. Never tried it before. You can order on line for pick up via Slice - you get points when you do and can earn enough for a free pizza so that is also a bonus. We come here at least once a week for their steak and cheese subs and they never disappoint. The food is always delicious, the staff is friendly, and the pricing is very reasonable. They're always busy, which tells you everything you need to know. Great local spot with consistently good food and service. read more

We haven't been here in awhile but we came here for lunch today. The lunch specials are a great value. I ordered a steak and cheese sub with fries and a drink for $11.99. They give you a good size portion for that. They still play positive hits radio to give it a great atmosphere. The staff is very polite. It is always great to come back here. read more

We can't say enough great things about Mama's! Although we have never dined in and always order online and pick up, our order has never been wrong and is always ready when we arrive. The people who work here are so nice and the food is always great. My husband's favorite is the bacon cheeseburger, and I love the classic tuna sub (you can tells it's made fresh) and the kids love the pizza! We always enjoy this treat when we are able too. We ordered chicken tenders and they did not come for 40 minutes. We asked repeatedly for them and were assured they were coming. We were told the order didn't get to the kitchen and then cut up chicken patties were tried to be passed off as chicken tenders. when we complained we were first told that was all they had, then told they were out of chicken tenders, then were given the correct order after the other 9 people at the table had finished. we were repeatedly lied to and the manager saw no issue with what had happened. Ordered 10 subs to feed a moving crew along with my wife and me. We got a sampling of their most popular subs. Crew raved about how good they were. I was pleasantly surprised as well. Honestly if there was a zero star I would press on it .the food was pretty good ,but then it's was time to pay I see that the total was $32.77 which we signed for but when checking my bank statement the total amount charged was $39.32. must have been an error on their system so i got overcharged , we called to let them know and he requested we come back. which we did because I thought he was gonna to fix an honest mistake. the manger or owner thought I was calling him a cheat which i definitely was not, started to get really worked up and upset took $7 out the register and ripped it right in front of our faces and threw it in the trash. he also threatened to call the police on us and pushed on my wrist very aggressively. my little brother and I really felt concerned of our safety. his behavior was very unprofessional and unnecessary this whole situation didn't need that .honestly I just wanted my seven dollars back Been going there for almost 10 year now I am very disappointed would have never imagined this would happen read more

Five stars to Mama's for my first visit. They came highly recommended, and I was not disappointed. We ordered the Italian sub, the roast beef sub and a gyro, and we were all happily satisfied. The meat portions were generous, and the vegetables were fresh. At the last minute, I decided to have a tiramisu. Best decision of the day! It was heavenly and complemented my meal. The price here is unmatched, and if you are in the locust grove area it's a must, although I'm sure this is ubiquitous. I have had a few sanitation issues the past few visits at Mamas. The last visit my fries fell out of the box and were shoved back in by the cashier with her bare hands before the hit the counter. I vowed to never set foot in that restaurant until today... I was lazy and hungry for a sub so I decided to say what the heck, maybe today will be different? I bought my usual chicken slovaki and fries. When I got home I sat down and took a few bites. Well into my 2nd or 3rd bite, I noticed a weird texture, and pulled it out to examine. It was the thumb off of a rubber glove. I drove back to Mamas to show them what was in the food only to be told it is just a glove. Now I was nice until that point, that was not exactly the answer you would expect to hear. I let them know that at no point is a glove edible, it is not sanitary and should not be in the food. And again with a smirk on the managers face she replied it is just a glove and pointed to her hand. They would have made me a new meal and they did ask. They don't seem to have a concept of sanitation and seemed more amused than anything so I declined. I did get my money back. It's a shame because they were my go to restaurant. read more

My family and I dined here tonight and had a Hawaiian pizza and house salad and it was terrible the salad had brown lettuce and tasted horrible and was tiny even though I ordered the larger one and the pizza was so covered in grease that all the cheese and topping just slide right off of the slice none of us could even finish a piece of it I will never go back totally disappointed would give no stars if I had that choice read more
