We've been wanting to try Lucia for YEARS, but we're terrible at planning ahead, and as everyone knows, getting a reservation here can be tricky because they're almost always full. So, we decided to try our luck and randomly showed up right when they opened, hoping we might be able to grab two seats at the bar. What we didn't know was that I was talking to one of the owners. I told her that if she couldn't seat us, we completely understood and that it was totally okay. She responded, "This is my restaurant, so I want you to eat here." I thought that was absolutely adorable, and she somehow worked her magic and got us seated at the bar. We started with cocktails, and they brought us some delicious olives to snack on. We also ordered the fresh bread and butter, which was the perfect way to start. For dinner, we shared the ravioli and Wagyu bavette, and WOW. Both dishes were absolutely incredible. My immediate thought was, Why the hell have I not eaten here before?! Everything tasted incredibly fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and perfectly balanced. You can tell the ingredients are high quality, and there's clearly a lot of care that goes into every plate. Honestly, this was exactly what we needed after a crappy work week. It turned a rough week into a really special night, and I left already thinking about when we could come back. One of my favorite things about restaurants is when you can genuinely tell that the people behind them love what they do. You can feel that at Lucia. The owners have clearly put their heart into this place, and it shows in the food, the atmosphere, and the experience. I will absolutely be back. One important note: MAKE A RESERVATION!
