We ordered takeout from Mama's Kitchen and were so impressed! Everything was packed well, still hot when we got it home, and absolutely delicious. We tried several dishes the lumpia, beef caldereta, beef steak, and chicken adobo etc and each one was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The caldereta had that rich, savory comfort-food taste, and the beef steak with onions was spot on. The chicken adobo had that classic savory flavor we love. Portions were generous, and you can tell everything is made with care. Highly recommend Mama's Kitchen if you're craving authentic, hearty Filipino food. We'll definitely be back to try even more!

Ordered bulalo from Mama's Kitchen as my first meal after giving birth -- and let me tell you, it was everything I needed. The broth was rich and flavorful, the beef was tender, and it just brought so much comfort. Filipino food hits different, especially when you need warmth and healing. It was so good and exactly what my soul (and body) needed. Highly recommend if you're craving real, comforting Filipino food!

Food is so flavorful and reminds us of Home in Hawaii. We recommend to anyone who loves Filipino food.

Mmm! Best Lechon Kawali (crispy duck) in the area! Must have Lumpia! New menu in photos. Today we tried the pork barbecue. Love the sauce, perfect mix of sweet and tangy. Pork was juicy and tender. Rice is always perfect. Consistently great food and service. Word of warning, if you want the crispy duck come early because it goes fast.

Mama's Kitchen... and you may ask yourself why its I still gave them 5 stars? It's a bit on the salty side and if they can bring it down a bit and it would have been perfect. I'm still leaving a 5 stars because improvements can still be done but it could be something more like my taste preference so who know I might have a strong taste buds to taste more salt then usual so again it could be just a preference on my end. For the food I can't find a a reason for me to find anything bad to say about this small kitchen. Mama servers her fresh made to order food and maybe it's already made I just seem to like it when food is not showing in front on most Filipino food such as when like a Buffay style . I like the fact that she takes time to make our food. So yes there is a wait depending how many customers she is currently making/cooking. If it's just you then your in for a treat! She hospitable when you visit her place of business (like you long lost auntie ) 1. The chicken adobo is one to try. It's was made well! I don't really order this dish but today it was something I wanted to try. Her style of adobo she makes is very good! See photo on how the adobo looks! 2. Lechon Kawali (pork) is a hit and miss and this one was not to miss when you like pork dishes... I would try this dish only if the other are not available. 3. The Beef Kalderta (Beff Stew) well this one is also a way you have to make it otherwise it won't taste well and Mama's landed a good style of flavors to add with rice and man this hits the spot! I yet to try the Short Ribs , Beef Steak, Lumpia and Sopao. For the soup your get the Bulalo. The location is a bit tricky on how it looks on maps because it's saying it's inside the Market and yes its inside! Small place and looks empty at times (morning more but the benefit was we got our food fresh and we kinda had our own chef cook for us!) I'll be back to make a 2nd review in hopes you see this and just on my tease preference hope it's not too salty when I see you again.

I ate one! 3 siopao, bowl of bistek! So bomb!

I have eaten almost everything on their menu! They never fail me! Consistent on their cooking and flavors! I love this place! The fact that it's in my favorite store is even better. Let's start, their siopao is elite. It always brings me back to my childhood. Soft fluffy outer bun that comes steaming hot with sweet pork on the inside. It's amazing that it doesn't dry out either. Perfection! The bistek is top notch! Lechon kawali... ahhhhh sooo good! If you want authentic Filipino food. This is your place! Give them a try. You won't regret it. Flavorful with good sized portions. Classically homemade= so delicious.... I absolutely appreciate their authenticity for being in Utah. Service is always great. Thank you!!!!!

Really decent food, very slow to prepare and kind of unorganized. What we ordered: Chicken adobo beef caldereta roasted pork pork skewers beef steak beef soup While it too so long we were strolling in the Ocean Mart store that was pretty nice, little smaller than the one in Sandy but cool nonetheless. If in Roy again want to try the Hawaiian and Korean place that is next to this Filipino joint.

Almost empty noodle container and full broth container in back.

Really good family restaurant. I got the Bulalo Mami, to-go. The lady I ordered from was so kind and accepting of my extra requests. The dish was only a little over $10, but she packed it! She gave me one large container with my noodles, veggies, meat, and broth, and then a second container full of broth and egg. Added some fish sauce and it was delicious! Will go again to try the Mami and other dishes... Highly recommend.

So awesome they joined the food court here!…read more One of my favs in northern Wasatch front is the parent restaurant for Dakine Grindz. The plates are good, although they seem to have been hit hard with the food costs like everyone else. My favorites though are the Adobo fried rice and the grilled meat kabobs. the adobo fried rice is so flavorful! it's rich taste and hearty vinegary goodness makes me get it some time by itself for a quick lunch. I also love getting spam musubi for a quick lunch grab. two for 7 bucks makes for a cheap tasty lunch. I like how they put sauce on the inside. service is awesome! they are so friendly, and i love the Filipino/Hawaiian vibe of the workers. so chill and nice! thanks for making it easy to get to you when i pick up my Asian groceries in Ogden!

This was our first time at this location but have ate at the Sunset location on multiple occasions…read more The Sunset location always leaves us satisfied, so I was expecting the same with this location. This location was so disappointing to say the least. Customer service was awful, the lady who took my order was not very welcoming or friendly. She seemed like she really didn't want to be there, even rolling her eyes, and was kinda rude to another customer who tried to order after me. We got the chicken katsu plate with mac salad and white rice. They forgot to put Katsu sauce, so the meal just felt so incomplete. The Mac salad was just sad, and just tasted like macaroni and mayo, no other seasoning.

This Filipino restaurant serves up all the classic Filipino dishes that everyone loves. We tried out a variety of items including pork adobo, beef kalderata, lechon, lumpia, pancit, pork bbq sticks, and Paksiw na Pata. Everything was so delicious and flavorful! The *only* complaint I have is that the food on display doesn't have labels. For someone who isn't as familiar with the food, I had to ask what each item was and took note of them, but it definitely would have been more helpful to have some sort of reference. The owner was so sweet, she ran out of pancit (which is what I was really hoping for) and she went out of her way to make some for our table. The restaurant was well-kept and had plenty of seating room. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to try or enjoy Filipino food!

I know this is a landlord problem, but it wasn't a good first impression for a food vendor. Although my family always teases me that I smell things that they don't smell. So it could have been just a me thing, but I digress lol... We ordered 8 dishes. I wish I knew the names. I know there was a beef and onion dish and a beef stew type dish with root vegetables. Tender and both delicious. There was a pork dish with a coconut based stock which was my favorite. Chicken Adobo, a pork stir fry type dish and lastly a pork stew dish with blood in the sauce. Yes, you heard me right. If you like blood sausage this is right up your alley. Both of the pork dishes (stir fry and blood sauce) were a little too salty for me personally, but tasty otherwise. The lumpia was good and we had a side of rice and pancit. The pancit was just okay for me. The woman who helped us was awesome and very patient with us. Explaining all the dishes we had questions about. Overall a good experience. Glad to see multiple Filipino restaurants opening up around town.

I called Balabe a few weeks in advance to inquire on catering services for my work place…read more Communication with Ibou was really smooth and he was able to provide different options the employees could have such making the food gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian. On the day of the catering event, Ibou came and had to go boxes labeled with each employees name on it. This took out any guesswork for me which made me appreciate the small details he put into the catering service. He provided a bottle of dressing for the salad and 2 chili oil bottles for the food if people dared to eat spicy. The plate that I got was called Yassa which was chicken in lemony onion sauce with rice and salad. The Yassa plate was super flavorful and easy to eat and the dressing was to die for! I would highly recommend trying out Balabe if you're in town. Follow them on social media and find out where they're at with their food truck. If there's something I can dock points away is how expensive it was to cater. If I were to add up the total price of tax, tip, and delivery, the total came out to be about $26 per person just for a plate.
