I'm so happy that they are open and they are letting people walk around most libraries are not doing that yet. I needed to use the computer and print some stuff out. The best. There use to. E four computers per table section but now it's two per table. I think there is 8 near the adult mystery section. There was two in the teen room, but of course if your not. Teen you can't really be there. They do holds like other libraries but unlike others you don't have to call to pick it up. I travel from my hometown because I've been having issues with pick up. Basically the computer will say I have a hold available for pick up but when I try and schedule a pick up it says I don't. Dah I've complained numerous times but the problem persists so I'll travel by bus to mamaroneck and pick up my items till they decide to allow people in. But I never have problems with mamaroneck. In fact I just attended their first zoom coloring class for an hour. I miss coloring in person but it was fun but they are only doing it once a month. read more

Upon the town's drastic budget changes and the amount it time for this building to be built you'd like something wonderful would be inside....but no. - when you enter, you will give your books in but they will not check them in immediately - the librarians are loud and will rush you off to another section - the children's room is covered in fabric which is known to carry germs longer. it also has over 6 foot tall bookcases in a children's room. there is also no bathroom nearby - the bathroom is in the basement. near rooms that are used for nothing. frequently you'll find people hanging out down here for no reason. Lastly, these librarians are not nice. The word "hello" is easy to say but it's not said here. They've replaced the head staff twice and no one is friendly. From a more personal point of view, I think this town tried to make a library that would match NYC standards in a town that doesn't care as much about a library as Rye or Larchmont does. The front steps even manage to flood when it rains. I would like to see this library improve but it would cost the town too much money. read more

Mamaroneck Public Library is awesome​. The only​ minor issue is that the sine qua non principle of polished silence and quietness has been abandoned here most of the time. read more

The actual library is fantastic. The people in the children's library are wonderful! However the people at the front desk are extremely rude and off putting. They make me not want to come back which is super unfortunate because a library should be a welcoming place. They are not welcoming. I might as well been trying to check out of jail. read more

I have been a great fan of this library and the staff for the past 7 years....coming to many of their presentations, joining a fabulous memoir writing group, and finding everyone helpful and friendly...front desk, children's library staff. Many programs for many interests....crafts, public issues, etc. Can't beat the librarian and staff for working so hard for the town. read more

My children, and I have enjoyed the Mamaroneck Library and their wonderful children's programs for years! they have a wonderful selection of books in both the kids and teen room. The kids room is a bit loud at times, but its for KIDS, I wouldn't expect anything less, which is why its great that it is located at the top floor! I have children in different age ranges and there is always something offered and available for them all, from their story times to chess clubs. We will continue to enjoy all the wonderful programs that our local library provide for years to come! read more

If you are looking for a nice quiet place to read or work, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE where you would like to go to! It's extremely loud, even with earplugs, you can hear the librarians talking loud. You might as well just stay home! read more

When I visited, the library was quiet and the lady behind the check-out desk was friendly and patiently answered all my questions. I had items on hold here and found them on a public shelf opposite the check-out desk, which I'm not certain if I like or not. Nearby parking is metered. read more

Too bad Yelp will not allow for 0 stars because that's what the Mamaroneck Public Library deserves. The staff at this place is rude, obnoxious, nasty and just plain mean !!!! I guess they forget that it's the taxpayers who pay their salaries. I asked a few questions to the ladies who work behind the counter and they had a horrible "why are you bothering me" attitude". I felt like I was at The Department of Motor Vehicles .....they must hire women from the same application pool. These women hate their jobs and are miserable. Time to replace the staff....I just moved to the town and was so excited to visit my new local library. I'll never be back.....thanks rude, nasty ladies !!!!!! read more

Well...based on the 2 previous reviews, things have definitely changed since 2016 ! My experience with the staff was excellent and the selection of both non-fiction and fiction books was substantial. My children found required reading materials for school, movies/DVDs, and books for research papers. I was able to locate a book, place a hold on it, and within 6 days, I received a friendly phone call and e-mail to come pick it up. Very easy! Metered parking is not an issue for me. There are handicap parking spots, and an ample sized municipal lot directly across the street. There is also street parking if you don't mind walking a little bit. We frequent this library often and so far, we have been very satisfied. read more

I grew up in Mamaroneck and have been coming to this library my entire life. The librarians have always been welcoming and helpful. They offer lots of community programming, have a dedicated floor for children, and any books you can't find in the stacks are available through inter-library loan. Love the fact that the building is LEED certified and has several green roofs and big windows. Often come here to work on my laptop and browse the shelves. read more

I visit many of the libraries in Westchester County. Mamaroneck Library is one of my favorites. The staff is super friendly. The librarians are always approachable and very helpful. The front desk staff always greets you. In lots of libraries, you feel unwelcome. Not here. There are comfortable leather chairs to relax in and there are lots of computers for the public to use. There's a nice outdoor patio with an awning to sit during the nice weather and a coffee bar. This is one library I always return to because the staff is so nice. read more

My children and I love this library!! It's always clean, it's modern and the best one I've seen so far. The childrens' room upstairs has tons of great programs before and after school. They have 2 bathrooms and a water fountain on the same floor. The reading Nooks, toys, arts and crafts and computer area is really nice. They have big windows that allows a lot of light and kids have a great time in here! We are always there. Granted when you walk in they don't immediately scan the drop off books but these people are busy. It gets done. Actually when you walk into most libraries there is a drop off section or box and they don't get checked in immediately. The library offers teen programs and has movie nights. My kids actually ask to go to the library!!!! The front I have never seen flood. ??? There are 3 floors the bottom level is for teens and book sales and study and there are bathroom facilities there as well. The librarians are librarians. At first I thought they were snubbish too but they're always helpful and very nice. I think it's the most child friendly library i have ever experienced and I hope it can stay this way for years to come. read more
