I've been taking my son to one of the children's programs, and he really enjoys it. My main concern is the cleanliness in the children's section. I think that area could use more attention, especially around the Lego area and the kids' toys in terms of regular cleaning and disinfecting. The carpets in the children's section also seem like they could be deep cleaned more often. Honestly, I think more frequent carpet cleaning would benefit this location and many other library branches across Long Island as well.

She mostly just plays with the toys and runs up and down the book stacks. It is great to have her like to come to the library. Also, the place seems to have it all. My only complaint would be that there are not many computers there, and that the game room exclusive computers do not let you download games. I came to this library for the first time for toddler open play and I thought it was great! A lot of natural light comes in and it's a big space for open play with a ton of toy options and a table just for coloring. The one negative is once open play is over (about an hour), they put away all the toys. I've been to other libraries where they leave the toys out for the children to play with as long as the library is open. The parking lot is very big and there were plenty of spots when I went, which was a weekday at 4:30pm. I liked how the open play was in the middle of the day as early times don't work for my family's schedule.

A bonus is that the librarians enforce a quiet environment on the third floor. There is an eating area downstairs and local food areas are not too far away (more convenient with driving than walking). If you're planning on an all day study session, this place is good for that. First off the bathrooms are clean and secondly, the chair and table heights are appropriately spaced so that you're not slouched over. There are also plenty of outlets nearby and water fountains. There are a limited number of parking spots, which I've heard people have problems with, but I've never had an issue with getting parking.

I love taking my daughter here for the programs they have for the kids. There is a play area for kids with lots of toys and a sensory toy area as well with a few toys. They have seasonal reading clubs for kids to raffle for prizes. There are also lots of programs for kids and adults to utilize. There are also museum passes available to rent. Some passes now are digital to print out and some are still physical passes. Each have different regulations of how many admissions and rules which are listed on the library website.

I love all of the opportunities that this library has for its patrons. I often use the…read morecomplimentary museum passes. Most of the passes you can print from home, but there are a few where you need to pick the pass up from the library. I especially like to use the empire pass to get free admission to beaches and state parks. The library has a good selection of video games, DVD and blue rays. I find myself using this perk less often now with streaming being more convenient, but I will occasionally borrow a series that streams from a platform that I do not subscribe to or to avoid commercials. There are programs for patrons of all ages. Summer reading programs with some incentives are for adults, teens and children. My niece has been enjoying tots at night and story time. She also loves the children's area that has a kitchen, cashier stand, doll houses, puppet theater and Lego table. The staff are kind, helpful and knowledgeable. It's great to see them when visiting.
