    the "Red' dragon fruit drink

Slip into Mamak Corner if you love a good serving of Roti Chanai (or one of the other varieties) or some very tasty Malaysian Curries plus noodle and rice dishes (something for everyone) I had the lunch special, a Roti, Curry and a Malay drink. the Roti is stretched and cooked fresh in the window for passers by to see, this is served with a couple of delicious curry dipping sauces (and some sugar if you like it a bit sweet) I have the Beef Curry and oh yes, it was very tasty, the meat juicy and tender, a couple of chunks of potato included and all bathed in a (not to) spicy curry sauce. Highly recommended

Somewhere between lettiing my Malaysian friend's Mum load me up with food and overnight stopovers in Kuala Lumpur, I've gotten a real taste for Malaysian food. Dried fish, peanuts, cucumber, sambal and of course roti canai. I usually go to Kopi Tim for my Malaysian fix, but the opening of Mamak Corner off of Hindley St suits me just fine. I'm not that into green plastic decor, but I am really into dinner for under ten bucks. Last week I herded my friends here for a quick meal before going out for drinks. I have a fixation with peanuts, so I got the nasi lemak. I love meals that come with a selection of little condiments and accompaniments. We also got roti canai (fluffy and light, comes with an assortment of curry dipping sauces) and a roti with egg cooked in between the layers. The roti were delicious - not too oily or burnt. The egg one was a little on the soggy side, but nothing worth complaining about. i also got a Teh Tahrik - a cooled sweet milk tea. The flavour is a little strange - sweet and nutty - but I think most people would like it. The prices are super cheap, so I wouldn't complain if the service wasn't amazing. It was pretty good though! The food came out super quick. The food here won't blow your mind, but it also isn't oily or bland. Cheap, quick and tasty!

The food that is made here, reminds me of being in KL. Satay beef with rice and the vegetable curry, are both a great choice to go with. The roti breads here as well, I can also say disappointment isn't a thing. Some of these little restaurants that I go to, I see a bigger picture for them. But I guess having your own little restaurant, is what makes it special and keep the people coming back!.

Mamak Corner has cheap and easy food. The menu isn't too big, the options aren't too confusing, and the prices are incredibly small. I love being able to go here and the roti for only around $5. It may not seem like a full sized meal, but it's perfect when you're not too hungry. Their roti planta is my absolute favourite, it's buttery and sugary and has a fantastic crispness to it. This dipped in the fish curry is delicious. They also have drinks, other mains, and desserts. Sometimes the service has been a little slow here, but it's always friendly so I can never complain.

The Nasi Lemak Curry Chicken, curry was nice, anchovies crunchy, sweet sambal portion small. For the price, i think its acceptable.

This is a great location, ok food, priced well, but they don't have a single baby seat. Had the Char Koay Teow and Nasi Lemak Chicken Curry which were ok and above average.

It's been a few months since i last visited the place. Oh. New stuff on the menu. That's good. That's what I'll order then. Hainanese chicken rice, let's see how they fare. My wife ordered curry chicken with rice. It's good that they changed the menu too. I remember previously we had to order the rice and curry separately. Other than the new items on the menu, there's a new change too. Eftpos payment. Omg. Lol. Why do i seem so surprised at such a common payment method? Because for the past few years that i frequent the place they have always been a cash society. So much so that a couple of times i just turned around and dined elsewhere because I'm too lazy to walk over to westpac atm machine. Ok, nuff of all those. Food is here. Mine came first. It's a yay. Juicy chicken thigh meat with a big bowl of rice, served with 2 condiments and a bowl of soup. The 2 condiments are soya sauce and chilli. They seems to have added a hint of vinegar to the soya sauce, as it doesn't taste like your normal soya sauce. The chilli feels homemade and it's really spicy if you eat it without rice or meat. I might be wrong about how they prepared these condiments though. It's a guess after all. I weren't prepared to ask them how they do it. Not my nature. :p The meat itself is good and fair amount for one to finish the rice with. The rice itself can maybe do better because the aroma of the chicken broth isn't as distinct enough, so it's a bit bland if you compare to Ricky's. The bowl of soup is generous enough for 4. In a blind food taste, I would say that their condiments are the differentiator between other ppls offering. What about my wife's meal? A nay. Considering that they are selling roti and curry is a major part of the meal, the curry is a fail. I'm not sure if i caught them on a bad day or what but the curry is watery today. Wife is rather upset with that. We have tried their curry in the past and it's always ok enough for our taste bud. Did they changed the recipe? I'll still visit the place every now and then for their roti, it's not my favorite eating place but they are still decent enough in my opinion.

The bartender Matt is amazingly awesome and will concoct whatever drink you can imagine. He does it with pleasure and his enthusiasm is infectious. Then there is the owner Anna , A wine connoisseur with the taste and talent to pair the perfect wine to the perfect dish. We started out with the yellow fin tuna appetizer paired with the perfect Pinot Grigio, it was fabulous! The cubes of fresh tuna light coated in sesame seeds, the squash compote and paprika that delicately decorated the plate, Then there was the watermelon cubes that after enjoying your slice of tuna refreshed your pallet so perfectly before you enjoyed the next morsel of tuna, pleasantly back and forth with sips of the delicious well balanced Pinot Grigio. It was like the opening act at the symphony, orchestra. For our main course, the orchestra conductor stepped up the tempo of harmonious delights. The presentation of food, the fabulous, delicious, flavors were all in synchronized harmony. My wife chose the pork cutlets I chose the rib eye Anna help us pair them with the perfect Pinot Noir from Adaline area. Magnificently, smooth and delicious, yet light spicy with light cherry notes that went well with our dinner this evening it paired magnificently. The meals: my wife's pork cutlet so soft and tender seasoned to perfection it naturally just falls apart in your mouth. The quinoa, and fresh, sweet, tender, beets that surrounded the pork cutlet elevated it to a heavenly state, moist tender, delicious full of flavors, the greens on the plate accented it to a meal for the Gods. The Rib eye steak is nothing like you would ever expect to be served stateside. It was far above the average standard cut of restaurant steak. Moist, tender, and perfectly prepared. There was no need to chew the morsel, because once you placed it in your mouth your taste buds jump-up in excitement. While dancing around in your mouth they made the morsel of ribeye, just melt away on your tongue. The green beans are as if they were just picked directly from the plant. The cherry tomatoes when you popped them in your mouth the juice and flavor of just one tiny tomato was like you had the most perfectly prepared bowl of fresh tomato soup in front of you. Each and every single morsel of this meal was like a Concerto in your mouth and you mind, simultaneously deleting, and enlightening each & everyone of the senses in your entire body. All of this in the Ambience of the 1860 treasury architectural design building. If you are in the area, I highly recommend you set up a reservation, set time a side and enjoy a fabulous meal, a fabulous wine, with a fabulous owner who knows her stuff. Anna is full of energy. She knows how to make sure each and every customer has the meal of their life! Bon appétit.

I heard they do good steaks but I was craving for a burger so being the smart me, I ordered a steak burger. Turns out there wasn't 20% off this one but it was a good deal of $10 with any drink of your choice! We also ordered the 300g rump steak and the Panko crumbed prawns, which consisted of a good serve of 10 prawns, tartare sauce, chips and salad. Much to my disappointment, my order was forgotten and I had to wait for half an hour before it arrived. The waitress was very kind and apologised for the delay and even offered me another drink! I was going to turn a blind eye to the food delay until I bit into my burger! The steak patty was chewy and I just could not take another bite. At this point, it was already past 8.30pm which is when the kitchen closes but the waitress was again, kind enough to re-make my order. I decided to swap to Panko crumbed prawns instead and they happily did it for me. Overall, I wouldn't say this was a completely bad experience. Yes, the steak burger is a definitely a no-no for me on my next visit but the rump steak, which I got to taste, was surprisingly quite tender. The good service also made my experience a whole lot better. Harry's bar has a nice old country pub feel as you enter, so I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a quiet spot to drink. They do also have partitions if you're wanting to organise your next function here.

Maybe I didn't dig too deep into the place, or maybe it was just that it was only a sports bar, but when I came back here recently they had completely opened up the uppper level. Oh, as it is with Adelaide, sure enough when I wandered into this pub I ran straight into a couple of old friends of mine, so I ended up killing some time with them. They actually had a decent selection of beers on tap, and the balcony was also pretty cool. In fact it is a much better addition to the Adelaide pub scene that this place used to be.
