Service is always nice!! Place looks a little shady but the food the food.... The food is so good you see nothing else. Always 5 out of 5!

My food was amazing and our server was friendly & paid attention to my group of 12 people there. Great food

Very Reasonably priced for the area. Can't speak for anything else, but the Spaghetti was quite disappointing for a restaurant labeled as an Italian Restaurant. The inside is buzzing with people as it seems to be a popular spot in Gretna. Nice staff but the service can be slow at times due to there being a lot of people. Would not recommend here for food, but their happy hour prices for beer is unbeatable at $2-3 read more

I've been here twice. Both times, the food was so so, which I could've overlooked. But on my second visit, I wore a pro-Trump shirt and one of the hostesses seemed offended. She repeatedly bumped a chair into me while arranging tables, to the point where I had to move. Unfortunately, I won't be back and can't recommend this place. read more

Working in the area and stopped here for a late lunch. Ordered unsweetened ice tea and shrimp salad. I was welcomed when I entered and sat in the booth of my choice. Comfortable surroundings and nice clean bathrooms. When the salad came to my table the shrimp were a fairly good size and just grilled to perfection. Enjoyed it all. read more

Review for my first time here: I came by yesterday ( April 30, 2021) but didn't have time to review the place or even take photos. In terms of wait time to be seated, it was instant. To add on, it was roughly lunch time so it was great to get a seat right away. The waitress was also very quick to bring my buddies and I drinks and kept checking on us for refills. The food wait time was great and the food came out nice and hot to the table. The food itself is not the tastiest food that I've had however it is not bad. I had the Chicken Cordon Bleu and it was good. The pasta was ok though. It is walking distance from the hotel that I'm staying in so I have no complaints about that. Overall, great place and great people working here. Day 2: May 1st, 2021 Waitresses were just as quick as yesterday. Today I ordered the Bourbon Burger which was really good. Reminded me of the burgers you eat at home and since I'm literally across the country from my home, it was even more good. The cheese fries were very good too. A tad bit too greasy but it's French fries with bacon so I can't really complain. Overall, it was a good day eating here. The COVID protocol is in full action here. Employees wear mask, clean after every pattern has left a table, groups cannot sit next to each other and mask must be worn off the table. I must emphasize the work that the ladies are doing because they check in on you so much so if you ever need anything just ask them. Even if you don't need anything, they'll ask you and keep tabs on you. They do a great job. read more

I came here on my way to see a concert and I thought it was going to be a normal experience. I WAS INCORRECT. The food is DEVINE and all the staff are VERY nice. I got a pineapple pizza and it came FAST. The crust is PERFECT and the cheese is AMAZING. We then ordered a keylime and it was DELICIOUS.In total please support this restaurant. read more

The service was horrible from the start. Waitress was not friendly. Took atleast 45 minutes for food to come out

The food is pretty good. Just a little too greasy for my crazy belly. Being and elder like me I take my grandkids a lot they love it we just all have to wait in the bathroom line after. But what can I say gotta love that quality time!! #lovethegrandkids read more

Tonight I ordered a 1/2 a rack of ribs close to closing time. When they arrive, they were Luke warm. After I sad something About the ribs being luke warm I was told they were Pre cooked The next what they could do I said it was late kitchen closing. I didn't want anything else. They said they would take it off. The bill after I got my bill. I was charged for a salad. Don't mind paying for something. Had I known? I was charged for a salad I would have ordered another meal. If you can't make it right, the first time, I shouldn't have to pay for a salad that came with a meal very disappointed. read more

Okay, not many choices in Gretna, had to drop off a trailer at the Uhaul place so thought we would try Mama Rosa. It is across the street from the Hampton Inn, so probably gets most of their business that way. Food was mediocre at best. The Mama Rosa salad was awful, a bench of junk on iceberg lettuce, I have never had canned mushrooms on a salad , yuck. The homemade lasagna was okay, and the chicken piccata would have been good, but the canned mushrooms ruined it. Really, how hard would it be to use fresh ingredients? Bottom line, would not go back. read more

Yum! Absolutely great food and even better service. Couldn't decide between steak or Italian so I took the waitress's suggestion and went for the steak and mixed veggies. Steak was ordered medium rare and was cooked to perfection. Absolutely delicious. Veggies were the perfect accompaniment. Had the calamari as an appy and strawberry cheesecake as dessert. Washed down with a couple of beers. Doesn't get better. Perfect meal. Waitress was very attentive and always making sure everything was ok. I will be back on my next visit to the area. read more

Food is always good. Pizza is better than Pizza Hut/dominoes. Great service. Always friendly and professional

The worst chicken I've ever eaten. The best part of the meal was the packaged saltines that came with the paltry salad. Unfortunately- the only walking-distance dining near the Hampton Inn read more

Great pizza and burgers and their Ranch is the best in all of Gretna. Sometimes theirs quite a wait but it's always worth it.

This spot did accommodate me by delivering but they did not deliver on quality food. I ordered a meat lovers pizza and chicken alfredo. The pizza was made with way to much cheese almost to where it wasn't edible and the chicken alfredo had absolutely no flavor or seasoning. It almost looked like a diet mean you would get at the grocery store. No to mention for that quality of food they are very over priced. I wouldnt recommend eating here if you can avoid it. The staff was nice though. They didnt even provide utensils to eat the food with read more

We are regular Mama Rosa customers. I am still disappointed that the manager does NOT make any staff wear masks. There is a window so you can see the cooks. None wearing masks. Still. We ate dinner there last night on 11/7/2020. I am surprised nobody has left this review yet. Masks - not required here. No Parmesan on my child's spaghetti and he loves it. I asked for Parmesan 3 times, but they never gave me any. A little pricey. Gretna has 1 of 2 restaurants worth dining in for dinner. Mama Rosa's and Mexican. We get tired of Mexican and are thankful for you! Outstanding food? Not really, but it's good enough for me. MASKS -- Wear them! It's right next to the ER, and Yes... Coronavirus is all over Gretna.. read more

My family has enjoyed our annual family dinner here for the past two years as it is an easy central location for all of us. Mama Rosa is always very accommodating of our large group and allow us to bring our own desserts! This year we took over the back of the restaurant, not a private room but definitely a somewhat private space which was perfect for us! The service was good, considering the size of the group. We all ordered a variety of things and the reviews were generally good about the taste of things. My boyfriend and I split a pizza and while it won't win any awards, it held its own against some of the other fancier pizzas we have had elsewhere. All in all, I would recommend Mama Rosa if you are in the area and looking for some basic decent Italian food. read more

The following will be difficult for the reader to comprehend this is the truth of my experience.. 1. Surgeons would envy the brightness of this restaurant. 2. All the staff take their smoke breaks outside the bar door, which is 1-6ft from any given bar stool. 3. You have to wait for the bartender to get done smoking to wait on you. 4. "Italian restaurant/full-bar"??? There's no wine (what they have does not qualify). So I braved a vodka & tonic with lime.. Tonic flat, lime wedge rotten! 5. Most of the hard liquor bottles were empty but still "stocked" on the illuminated shelf. 6. Ordered a steak salad- it consisted on 3-grape tomatoes, 2-slices of cucumber, 1/8 head of iceberg lettuce, some shredded carrots.. And.. About 1/4cup of Shredded "steak-um". Though I can honestly say as a kid I had steak-um, somehow this place found a way to stoop lower in quality. All truth people-- can NOT make this up. read more

I need to stop thinking that I'll find good Italian food in any small town south of the Mason-Dixon Line. This place was ... not good. Okay, look - the service was fine. I was staying at the Hampton across the street and ordered some food - they brought it over quickly and the delivery guy was nice. But - ohmygod - the pizza. SWIMMING in grease. I mean - greasy. Like - me at puberty level of grease. This isn't even Olive Garden level of quality. read more

I wish there were halves on the rating. Because it really is a 3.5 more than a three. The dishes that I had was the soup and chicken cacciatore. I did not try the pizza or sandwiches. Pros. Pasta was not out of a package. Sauce had sliced vegetables in it. Food was hot when it came out. Cons. Clam chowder I got took awhile and pretty much fresh made or boiled super quick. Not thick but thin. No flavor or additions besides cream potatoes and clams. Possibly butter but didn't see any separation. Pasta had the same issue. Had veggies and the sauce was good but not seasoned at all. Tried looking for a flake or two of oregano or chunk of garlic but none to see. Now this could be just me since I enjoy flavor and other things going on in my food besides the basics. With that said I was not disappointed with the food since it hit all the requirements and was just ok in the flavor department. It's a mom pop local owned Italian restaurant. I want to repel vampires when I leave. That is what I expected. Would I go back? Rumor has it they have a great steak. read more

When we first walked in a nice lady (employee) opened the door because my grandma was handicap. (I don't know about you, but I never saw an employee open the door for a handicap.) Everyone is nice and welcome and the service was wonderful! We got a salad for an appetizer and it almost filled us up! For our main course we got pizza and it was so delicious! Wasn't burned at all, nice and evenly cooked. When we left. We left with our stomachs' full and happy! The prices wasn't bad either, not as bad as a Olive Garden or another Italian place. read more

We are so happy Mamma T's is back open! Awesome pizza, pin wheels, and Stromboli's! Can't wait to sit outside on their deck this summer!

I have ate here twice with my family and their food is delicious! Right near the Gretna ER. The staff was polite and our service was fast.

It deserves a 5 star rating, but know 1 gets that. My wife and I stayed across the street at the Hampton Inn and walked over to enjoy dinner 1 night. We both are in Food Service and are probably looking for the best in service as well as food as we expect our employees to do where we are employed. Ordering a salad, appetizer and pizza. First, the service was great, Second, the food came out fast, fresh and hot with time for enjoying our salad and appetizer first. Great timing and service. Will go back as we visit that area quite often. The menu has a great selection. I saw many enjoying there dinners as much as we did. Thanks to Mama Rosa's wait staff and cooks. Job well done. read more

Traveling through. After map app we were using sent us to a boarded up diner I asked at local gas station. I know it's old school but it still works usually Service and food good. Very clean and right off main road. Got philly cheese. Good for not being philly cheese region. Wife got chicken wrap also good and large portions Only suggestion is to upgrade coffee a bit was standard fare and fine but consider featuring a local roast. read more

We had just gotten into the motel across the street from the restaurant and decided we would go over there for an evening salad. Service, cleanliness, friendliness of the waitstaff and iced tea was very good. The grilled chicken salad I had was not grilled and must've been steamed and was very soft not atvall what I expected. The Greek salad my wife had,she said, was also disappointing. We will not be eating there again. read more

I can't exactly remember what the dish I got was called, but it was a pasta dish with chicken, creamy spicy sauce, crab, and I added mussels. I was so amazed at how good the food was. Since I am new to the area and used to living where there are amazing restaurants everywhere I have found that almost everywhere I've tried eating has not at all lived up to what I'm used too. So I'm not saying this is the best food I have ever had, I've been to Italy no pasta will ever compare to this BUT I am saying the food I had here is by far the best I have found anywhere in the area. Plus they have a happy hour, alcohol and pasta it really couldn't get better. read more

Not gonna lie, this one is gonna hurt my feelings a little. Went here on a whim while I was checking out Leesville Lake/Dam areas for recreational fishing spots. Saw it from the highway a couple times and was curious, but never really drove that far south much. Upon entering, I was impressed by the size and layout. Appeared to be quite clean, 3-4 servers acknowledged me and inquired as to whether or not I had been helped. Everyone was very friendly. I ordered my food and sat at a table across from the bar that looked into the kitchen. While waiting, I observed a gentleman that was wrapping food in plastic wrap for later use. He was not wearing gloves. Usually not turned off by that, but as I continued to watch, he would touch his forehead, wipe under his nose, and at one point, grabbed a rag from his pocket to wipe his nose and stuffed it back in his pocket. I was kinda mortified, but since he wasn't making my food, I let it go. In hindsight, I shoulda got the hell outta there because when I got home, I realized that just because he wasn't making my food, didn't mean he didn't prep the ingredients. He was a taller gentleman, older and had an unkempt, unshaven graying beard. Really unfortunate because the pizza was SO good. Probably the best I've had in the area. But I will never go back. read more

Omg the food was horrible! my grandmas had to much cheese on hers. you couldn't even taste the actual meal all you tasted was cheese. I don't know where to start on how bad this place is, I guess I can start with the good the salad was good the rest of the food was crap. I got the grilled chicken dinner. It comes with a salad and one side, which was vegetables that were burned and overly salted, some were crisp while others were like eating a wet napkin. The grilled chicken wasn't even grilled it was seared, there was no grill marks it was seasoned with some ms spice powder crap you can dump on anything, and was super over cooked till the perfect amount of dryness settled in. I figured since we are in the country that at least the vegetables would be farm fresh and delicious but I was wrong. My friend got a margarita pizza that was made incorrectly, instead of using sliced tomatoes they use pizza sauce as the base and then slap some nasty looking mozzarella cheese on the top and call it a day. The dough for the pizza was mushy on the bottom because it had not been cooked thoroughly. I don't know how you could make a margarita pizza wrong but apparently it's possible, it's supposed to be one of the easier pizzas to make. I'd say if you want pizza or Italian go to Pizza Hut or dominoes they will be ten times better than this craptastic place. read more
