Chennai Dosa offered a large menu of curries, dosas, and more, but my pick was the North Indian Thali, which came with a sampling of 10 ramekins of dishes, along with two chapatti flatbreads and a papad cracker. The dishes included chana masala (chickpea curry); a decadent paneer butter masala; yellow dal; spicy potatoes; a mixed vegetable dish of potatoes, peas, and carrots; and two different mixed rice dishes (a slightly sweet rice and a more heavily spiced brown-colored rice). The thali also came with sides of raita, a yellow sweet made of semolina, and sliced cucumbers/carrots/onions to round it all out. This restaurant was definitely a hole-in-the-wall, but the service, flavors, and prices were all on point!

The pictures on the menu do not necessarily match up with the entree it is next to. Ate palak paneer and butter paneer for dinner with side of parathas, and an extra cheese paratha. Palak paneer left much to be desired, was a little low on the flavor side. Butter paneer was much better, a little sweeter, and had a coconut flavor coming through. The plain parathas were thick and fluffy, great for sopping up sauces. The cheese paratha was really my star of the show- it was a kinda of Brie/cream cheese filling that was gooey on the inside. Somehow, it really brought extra flavor out in the entrees. We arrived at an opportune time, so we didn't wait, but we were the last to arrive before the rush. After us, there was a constant wait and solo customers were seated in any available space, even with other guests. This did not impact us. The staff did not rush any of the guests to turn over tables and accommodate the rush. The food seemed to be made upon request and the staff was constantly moving and serving. In sum, if you are a vegetarian, looking for relatively cheap and tasty Indian food, don't mind a divey/crowded atmosphere, definitely check this place out- it clearly gets a lot of hype.

Ok so let's talk about Sangeetha and why I'm giving it such a high rating…read more Sangeetha is located down the street from a couple of other Indian restaurants. We tried a couple of the other places down the street, but hands down Sangeetha was the best and most accommodating to our dietary restrictions. Certain members of my family eat a semi-Jain diet and do not eat any food items with onion or garlic in it. Because of this, traveling can be quite difficult and it's often very hard for them to find food items that they can eat, especially while abroad. This restaurant was very understanding about their dietary restrictions and was able to modify dishes for them so they could actually have a full meal. Service was great and the interior was clean. Chaat service does end at a certain time so you can't get it later in the day, but their menu is still pretty appealing. Honestly, one of the better Indian restaurants in Paris esp if you have dietary issues.

Gwadar serves some of the best-quality Indian-Pakistani dishes I've ever eaten, all the while with…read moreexcellent service to boot (an abnormality in Paris, that is). Ordered samosas to start, which came piping hot and delicious, although they may or may not have been frozen before. Rose lassi was okay, but tasted artificial. Main dish was palak saag, which was lamb and spinach cheese curry. Came with rice and naan, and it made for a hearty meal. Lamb was slightly on the tough side, but the spinach and cheese were creamy and smooth. It was a lot of food, as I could barely finish everything on my own. Unfortunately, I'd gone on the weekend, which didn't allow for a lunch special: I would definitely recommend going on the weekdays, as my food came out to nearly 30 euros (bread and rice were charged extra), as opposed to 16 euros for the special. Food was pretty good, but it was the courteous and welcoming staff which made my experience in Gwadar a good one. Worth a try!

Kinda hard to find, but it's literally the only place open past 10pm here so just look for the lights I suppose? Food is hot, cheap, and covered by a just-spicy enough sauce. They let you pick a scoop of rice, meat, and a vegetable and they throw the whole mess nonchalantly on a plate in true Indian fashion. It's pretty generously portioned, though I was still left a little hungry because I maybe got two pieces of lamb. Still, at €7.00 per plate, I can't really complain.
