We came here to try their famous Bomber sandwich and it did not disappoint! It's a great sandwich! They use thick quality bacon in there, I think it's Baker's Bacon. A large is 12.99, I could barely finish half of the sandwich A small is 9.99. They have a Pepsi fountain drink dispenser, yes! A 32oz is only 3.00. They also have Icee machine, 32oz is 3.75 and 25oz is 3.00. There are tables inside to enjoy your sandwiches. They also make tamales, available on Tuesday's and Saturday's. We'll be back to try those and their other sandwiches. There's also deli salads and desserts in the cold case, with a small selection of meats. They carry Marianne's ice cream too. On August 3, 2025, around 1:10 PM, I had a very negative experience at Mal's Market in Seaside. I clearly asked for no sauce on my sandwich, reminding the employee that it had been messed up the last time. Instead of acknowledging my request respectfully, he cut me off, argued, and responded dismissively as if I wasn't worth listening to. When I mentioned the past mistake, his response was unprofessional and childish. Eventually, he even told me to "shush" if I wanted the sandwich. What made this worse is that other employees -- including the man I believe is the owner -- were present and did nothing to address the behavior. He literally had his back turned and allowed the employee to continue speaking disrespectfully to me without stepping in. That shows this isn't just about one worker, but a failure of management to ensure customers are treated with basic respect. This kind of customer service is unacceptable. Customers deserve to be listened to, treated politely, and for their requests to be honored. Management should seriously address how staff treat people here. read more

This is a quintessential Seaside deli experience. It was a beautiful sunny day and I've heard about the huge sandwiches, so I headed over for lunch. There was a line, but the servers went quickly. The deli is in a bodega-styled building and they do have outdoor seating. I didn't see a restroom or high chairs for the kiddos. As for the sandwich, I got a turkey sandwich w/ provolone. Tucked away on a side street in Seaside California this place is a quintessentialb Neighbourhood market. They have all the usual stuff chips and drinks and stuff that you might need but they also carry Mary ann's ice cream, which is absolutely delicious. Their deli is why we go there and they have a nice array of sandwiches. My favorite one is the one with bologna ham, salami and mortadella on it. It's just addictive. I've loved Mals Markets for their bombers but lately the owner has been so rude on multiple occasions he doesn't know basic manners and respect. This makes me not want to even order here anymore. As a local from 18 years I'm not supporting this business. If we expand further his store is gross expired food and sticky items. It's not pleasing to the eye he doesn't invest in his business. Breakfast sandwiches here are absolutely amazing, and the lunch sandwiches are pretty good. Service is quick and we usually take our sandwiches to go though there are a few tables you can sit and eat at. There is a small parking lot and street parking. Went yesterday and was underwhelmed. If they paid half as much dedication to being clean and sanitary, as they do to their political leanings it would have been better. Maps is a great old fashioned neighborhood deli, (although it's not in a great neighborhood, the sandwiches are great). When I went I got their house specialty / I believe it's called a Bomber.. very good sandwich, extremely fresh bread and tasty meats snd cheeses. One stop shop convenience store with yummy food. Have yet to try their sandwiches but their desserts look yummy. I'm mainly here to review the tacos served outside every Tuesday. The group of women who make/serve the tacos are super friendly and they dish them out fast. They are delicious. And if you think they look sparse don't forget to stop by the toppings table and pile on the onions, cilantro, slaw, beans, and salsa on your tacos! I've been coming here ever since I was a little girl and even after moving to the East Coast I still come here when visiting California. I always get a bomber sandwich and or tacos on taco Tuesdays made freshly taste so good I love it. Owner and his daughter are great people and it's always a joy stopping by. For those complaining about sanitation just keep in mind they wash their hands non stop between orders and also wear gloves. I have observed the store being cleaned constantly. As for the signs in the store it's nice that they can express themselves in a humorous way if you can't understand or handle it I feel sorry for you. Just the right combo of meat, veggies (lettuce & tomato), mustard, mayo... all on a soft but sturdy roll, which worked just right for its generous but not-overwhelming-in-quantity contents. (My fellow Americans seem to love their soft sandwich rolls. Just read their reviews. No one wants to have chew their roll.) Docking them a star cause there was a young man behind the counter near the entryway not wearing a mask (everyone else in the store seemed to be abiding by Covid guidelines). Been searching for the best sandwiches in town for a while and decided to try Mal's per the sign out front and a friend's recommendation. It was ok- the proportions/flavors of the stuff inside were mostly fine, but the bread was pretty lame. Kind of tasted like a sandwich you'd make at a friend's house: nothing special, but gets the job done. The owner is definitely trying to push that "I'm a strong republican- don't mess with me" vibe with all the signs in the restaurant. Which is totally fine (it's his store after all, he can do whatever he wants), but it just gets a little distracting. Gives the impression that he's sort of desperate to seem like a tough guy. Again, his choice, I just came here for a sandwich.
