We spent the day in Summersville exploring the lake and the river. We stumbled upon this restaurant and we are so glad we did. This was the best place we ate at all week. Casual and low key and the food was Amazing. I had the smothered chicken and my gf had the ribeye steak sandwich. It was real steak and not like a shredded steak. You won't leave hungry! The bartenders were also fantastic. Gave us a lot of insight on the local life, things to do and avoid. Awesome place for the locals and those traveling to the national park! read more

I like that this place has awesome food and I can also bring my baby girl! The food is good and so are the drinks, my husband got the gad dam burger and it was huge, he doesn't get full at restaurants often and this did him in! Stopped in tonight for dinner. Lots of empty tables so not really busy, but the service was slow. Took a long time for our food order and even longer for the food. We watched to groups of 2 walk in sit at the bar and leave 10 minutes later because know one even acknowledged they were there. The time between getting our beers and getting our food was 90 minutes. I had the Mushroom & Swiss Burger with Cheese and Bacon Fries. My wife had the Grilled Chicken Wings with Garlic Parm sauce. The only positive was the food was hot. Notice I didn't say good. When I travel I always look for small locally owned establishments and I go out of my way to support them when I can. I hit the mother load today when I was invited to visit this location with a friend. First, the service was remarkable. I have to admit we got there a little after lunch had ended but the waitress was phenomenal and she could not of done a better job. The selection was terrific, and the caliber of food was off the charts, especially for a small town eatery. Last but not least, the place is so well decorated with sports memorabilia I could go back and just look at all the Mountaineer memorabilia for hours. I didn't have the pleasure of visiting pre-fire, so I can only talk about my experience over the Thanksgiving break. We went to watch the WVU game with some fellow crazies. My wife, brother, and I were able to snag 3 seats at the bar - SCORE! - and we had a great view of their multiple HD TVs. It was loud, but not too loud. They had a local craft beer on tap from Fayetteville - SCORE! - and the usual suspects of course. No liquor, but it wasn't missed. We tried a couple of their fried appetizers. They weren't super greasy and both baskets were pretty much empty after a few minutes. It was too cold to enjoy this day, but the real gem of this place is the back deck. It's huge and also has a nice TV and bar setup. Would be an awesome place to hang out on a nice spring day. read more

Came here after finding this on yelp and definitely enjoyed it. Great place to watch the game and the sriracha cheese fries were delicious if you love heat like I do. Also tried the big 12 burger which had a great BBQ flavor. Nice restrooms too! Friendly owners that made us feel welcome even as kansas fans. read more

Maloney's is classic West Virginia. Good food, good people, good prices, and West Virginia University Mountaineers! It's a great place to come catch any game that's on. They have all the sports packages so if you can get the game in WV, it will be on at Maloneys. Their food is great. The Maloneys Burger and their BBQ wings are my favorites. The staff is very friendly and attentive. This place can get quite busy on the weekends but the bartenders and waitresses are always attentive and friendly. read more

Negatives: even for bar food, food was just ok. Mobbed with children (Applebee's would have been a better option for the kids). Burgers overcooked and not that great. Should be more flexible with wing flavors in terms of getting multiple flavors per order. Not much to look at from outside. TV volume was very high... On the recommendation of our hotel's front desk, we checked this place out. A great improvement over the chains out on hwy 19. We both had burgers; the Swiss mushroom and the Traditional. Both with fries on the side. The burger was homemade, fresh, on an excellent slightly chewy bun. And the fries were, bar none, the best damn fries I have ever had. Pillowy inside, crisp and beautifully cooked. Atmosphere is pure casual. Some nice beers on tap. Excellent, friendly staff. If and when I'm back in town,I'll be back. Bravo. read more

Look folks, I'm into wings. You don't get five stars unless you do something that gives me a crisis of faith in my wingdom. For me, you don't put bbq sauce on wings. A burning bush told me. However, the huggy bear wing sauce here is 1. really deep bbq flavor 2. come-from-behind, satisfying heat 3. balanced sweetness. In short, the burning bush got it wrong; you can totally do bbq sauce on wings if its good, and this was the best. I haven't even started on the fried pickles; they had more flavor in the breading itself than most places put in the whole dish. Go eat here. read more

Very mediocre burger for $10. It looks like it use to be a 6 oz frozen party. My wife ordered it medium rare, not sure you can cook something that thin that way but it was very well done. As for my prime rib, let's just not go into detail. But the thing that really made things worse was the extremely BAD attitude the waitress had.
