We stay here every time we visit Mt View. The motel is always clean and the owner and staff are very friendly.

Asha is still at the helm as the general manager and the place is run just as well as I remembered. The breakfast they provide is certainly more than you would expect in a hotel of this size. Rooms are clean, service is great. I highly recommend.

The front desk attendants were very friendly and helpful. Our room was neat and clean. Sounds weird to say we were thrilled with the bathroom, but we were. Nicole long countertop, shelves underneath. The tub/shower is probably the first I've seen that was not at all slippery while showering/bathing. Decent lighting for makeup. The fridge and microwave were handy and also very clean. The AC was easy to use and kept us quite comfortable in our first floor room. (The outside temps were in the 90's. The Cattleman's Steakhouse next door offered 10% off with a room at the hotel so we walked over and enjoyed a delicious meal. The hotel offered a very nice breakfast buffet in the morning. Nice selection of breakfast offerings: eggs, bacon, biscuits, gravy, waffles, yogurt, fruit, juice, coffee, tea, cocoa, cereals. The hotel is great for travelers who are looking for a clean and reliable place to stay. It's just off the highway and very easy drive to "the main strip" in Willow Springs. When I had a slight wardrobe malfunction in the morning, the front desk was able to provide me with a tiny sewing kit and I was good to go.

I've probably been there 10 times over the past 20 years. Prior to Echo Bluff being built, we stayed at various places in Eminence (Rivers Edge, various B&Bs). The accommodations were always Spartan and it was almost impossible to find any restaurants that offered anything more than "Fried something" or hamburgers. All that has changed with Echo Bluff State Park Lodge. The Lodge has accommodations that are orders of magnitude better than what can be found in Eminence and the on-site restaurant has really good food and a menu that is large enough that one could eat several different meals at the Lodge without having to repeat and entree. There is a beautiful creek behind the lodge (about 150 yards) that you can put your lawn chair in, sit back and enjoy the cool stream water and the absolutely gorgeous view of the Bluff.

The girl that works here greeted me at my car and asked if I was staying. I reassured her I was. I think she was worried about a random car. She later knocked on the door and asked if we were taking their towels. Their towels and sheets all had stains, I hardly wanted to use them, let alone steal them. She said others had been stealing towels in the past, this was our first stay and it was only my girlfriend and I. We woke up in the morning to no hot water, not even warm. We asked another room and they had the same issue. When going to the main office, it was locked and nobody was around. This is a cheap stay but lacks any type of amenities you may be looking for, such as hit water and clean linens. Also, there were 3 cars broken down and being worked on in the parking lot.

There wasn't anything that worked right in the room and the carpet and everything else in the room looked like trash off the curb and there were pieces of baseboard missing in the room that gave you a good view of the spider webs in the walls. The front door didn't shut very good and didn't look very safe at all. There were spiders on the towels and in the shower like they had been there for weeks. They do allow pets to stay for an extra $10.00 a day but if you bring your dogs they will get fleas like mine did and you ll have to stop and dip them before taking them home again. The girl running the place said the owner is sick and never there and I can why. She was very friendly and helpful but that did not make up for us coming into town on a weekend and being stuck in a nasty place with no chance of getting another room some place else. I was also confronted by someone who had already spent on night there while in the parking lot and she said they had mice under their beds and that while they were across the street at the gas station someone had broke out their passenger side window while their suv was parked in the hotel lot. They were already in the second room they had been given at The Colonial Inn and they were leaving after driving 7 hrs for their vacation that was ruined by their experience with the hotel. I will be looking for a different hotel to stay at with my pet s the next time and I wouldn't recommend that anyone stay at this place. It should be condemned.

However, Spring River Lodge is a nice little oasis. All the staff, and I mean all. Met the front of house folks, the cleaning crew and the breakfast folks. All of them pleasant and friendly. We had probably 20-30 family members staying here and it was a delight. It's not fancy, but there is a nice, clean indoor pool; there's a nice patio out back and a sizeable seating area (typically for breakfast - we took it over anyway). Super clean rooms (I saw, they actually do strip the bed down and wash/replace EVERYTHING), comfortable beds and nice hot showers. What more could you want in little ol' Hardy, AR? Not much methinks. Liquor store across the street and McD's as well for late night munchies (town shuts down around 9PM).

And when the receptionist is actually doing her job she was hired to do, take a reservation, the manager is anxiously pacing behind her to hurry her up with the call to get back to the laundry room. The laundry room has broken, outdated faulty appliances. They really should hire a laundry assistant, invest in updated equipment and let the receptionist focus on welcoming the guests. Also there is always a child who comes to work with his grandma and stays her entire shift and even helps her with her chores. Is that even legal? It's unprofessional for sure.
