We called ahead to make sure they were open and they had a table all set up for my husband and I and our 19-month old daughter - with a cute plate, little baby spoon, and highchair ready for her. Our waitress was so nice and the sweet tea was delicious. This is Southern granny cooking just like my grandma made when I was a child. You can order single plates but the best deal is their family-style for $23 a person with black-eyed peas, green beans, stewed tomatoes, biscuits and corn bread, mashed potatoes and gravy and fried chicken with one other protein - we chose pot roast and it was soft and delicious. I wanted dessert - but it was so filling we had to skip although all their pies sounded wonderful. This is a historic old log cabin-type building with plenty of tables inside and they were super nice and low-key for us and our baby. Food was out almost instantly and everything was delicious. Everything was seasoned well and full of flavor. For main dishes we were served fried chicken, pot roast, and pulled pork. All were amazing. If you have a sweet tooth - be sure to save room for dessert. The cobbler was delicious and a perfectly warming end to a wonderful meal shared with friends.

My bf ordered the lamb bolognese, which he liked, and I got the gnocchi, which had cherry tomatoes, roasted corn, and zucchini. It was very good, albeit on the brink of over-seasoned. The burger was served with thick slices of tomato, onion, and lettuce, a small amount of mustard, and on the side were jalapeno and hot dill pickles. The seasoned fries were very good, though they were slightly too salty for my taste (I'm not a big salt person). If you need to limit your sodium intake, I suggest skipping the seasoned fries. My wife ordered the Ahi Tuna Tacos, which were delicious and beautifully encrested. While she found the coating flavor was unusual with tuna initially, adding lime juice made it perfect. When I tried a piece, we noticed that the tuna might have been cooked on the same surface as my burger, picking up some of the char, which added an interesting element. Overall, the service was excellent throughout, and both our meals were enjoyable and served hot and quickly. The atmosphere is lively, filled with customers enjoying the music. We didn't stay for the band (which I'm sure would have enhanced the mood), but we noted that the outdoor tables are quieter and suitable for families--though this might change later in the evening. This spot is perfect whether you're looking for a quick meal or an enjoyable evening with live music.

The four out of five stars that it has is clearly not because of their burgers. Quite underwhelming. For $14 I thought I might get possibly two slices of tomato and two pieces of cheese, one on each patty, or even a special bun, but looks like they're doing some cost cutting. I gave it an extra star because the sweet potato tots were pretty good but the burger is 2/5 stars. It's sort of compares to a Hardee's six dollar burger, but with that one, you get more cheese and toppings. The place itself looks like it could hold a lot of people and the bar looked well stocked, a place to maybe watch a game and have a beer.
