Absolutely love how my hair turned out after going to Mallory! The main reason I went to her was because I have frizzy, curly hair and wanted my hair dyed with some caramel balayage/highlights (not sure the correct terminology) and get a keratin treatment. She was one of the only few hairstylists nearby who've worked with curly hair and specifically had experience working with that type of hair for keratin and hair dyeing (we all know it's a much different experience when hairstylists are only experienced with straight, "more manageable" hair). I've never had a keratin treatment before nor have I dyed my hair, but Mallory made sure I felt comfortable and educated about the whole process. Since the hair dye and keratin treatment lasted about 6 hours (I have thick, long hair), it never felt that long since Mallory is a joy to be around with her stories and even went out of her way to get me Wetzels Pretzels and snack on girl scout cookies. I got my keratin treatment in the beginning of August. I was afraid to get it at first, scared my money will go to waste. I gave it a shot. My hair was always frizzy, no matter what products I used from shampoo to conditioner to hair treatment and oils. I will always get frizzy hair, cutting my hair style to braids only. I wasn't able to let my hair loose after the braid because it would've been worse. During the winter, if I straighten my hair, the minute I stepped out my hair would do back to its frizz and waves as if I never straighten it. There's too many great things I could say about my recent hair experience with Mallory. I found her after tons of local yelp searching. I reached out online and was scheduled for a Keratin treatment and haircut within the hour. Now I'd never had a Keratin treatment before and though I'd done my research, I had a lot of questions and concerns with it. Mallory was informative, honest, and completely educated on it all. I had gone almost a whole year without a trim and she made sure to keep as much length as possible. She made a great point by saying that she didn't feel right doing this expensive treatment and have me leave with scraggly ends. Even with the 3-4 inches she took off, I felt great about it. It was long and healthier than it's looked in years. I waited 2 whole weeks to write this review because right after my keratin treatment, I left for a 10 day trip to Europe. I really wanted to see how my hair held up through the rainy and moist London and Paris fall weather. Mallory is really easy to book and work with. I have wavy/borderline curly, fine, low porosity hair, and she knew exactly how to work with my hair type. I usually never write reviews but I feel I need to share with you, the amazing experience I had with Mallory and why I'll never go any where else. I decided to have my hair lightened or sombre whatever you want call it for the first time on Friday at a salon in studio city. To make a long story short, the results were horrible... I had yellow and orange hair. When I pulled my hair back you could see streaks against my dark hair. It and I looked horrible. I felt like I had made a huge mistake. I knew I needed to fix my hair.
