Knowledgeable and competent staff. I love Benjamin Moore paint. Just finished painting my house.

Extremely expensive. The same Benjamin Moore paint was available for $17 a gallon less at three other stores (including Ace).

He then spent the whole time trying to talk down to me and being anything but helpful. He was so focused on intentionally talking to me in a little pet voice and pointing out that I had "misspoken" on a technical issue instead of just making an effort to help me get the product I need. The funny thing is I called him out on the fact that he was giving me false information. For example, he claimed that the "poly" in polyurethane means "clear" (it is actually short for "polymer") and that I had therefore misspoken by asking for a polyurethane enamel in a certain color. I pointed out to him that there are plenty of polyurethane paints on the market that have colors. He was like "yeah I just mean in Sherwin land." This is also false, look on the Sherwin Williams website for Polane T, a black polyurethane paint! This guy is a complete moron. He should be fired. Like all misogynists, they are idiots who don't know what they are talking about. Frustrated, I said I just wanted them to put the color tint of the numbers and letters I gave them in a polyurethane paint on the shelf and without knowing the details of what I was doing, said it would not work for what I was doing and that paint is only used by "little old ladies" in their houses. I told him to just do it anyway. He went and mixed the paint and the other guy rung me out, not quite such an in-your-face misogynist but totally unfriendly and clearly not on board with the fact that I would dare to call out his coworker. And lo and behold, the paint I bought actually ended up working perfectly.

Every single time I've moved something - pretty much anything that might be 3 feet in width - I've scraped the side of my walls. So after a year of wall scratching (and a new roommate), I decided that maybe - just maybe - it was time to do some patch work. The construction company that built my abode purchased their paints from Rodda. This location was the closest to my house, which is how I ended up here. The staff was really helpful, though finding someone to help me was a little hard (Either their understaffed, or there was a high influx of customers for a Friday afternoon.). The paint color, I was told, was an "older color" (I guess they have been renamed since my house was built.), but the staff was able to find a conversion chart and get me the right paint color. Then they helped me to get the other stuff I needed: spray-on texture (they also did a demo with me, which was very useful), a paint roller, and a basic "how-to" list. The prices were reasonable too. I'm no home improvement expert, but I have been to the Home Depot and Lowe's before: everything one needs to texture the walls and paint (and fix the holes) for under $50 (including the gallon of paint) seems really reasonable to me. Like I said: great service, and knowledgeable staff. I just wish there was more of them to go around... And I really wish that they'd volunteer to come home and do my painting for me.

Excellent customer service! Today was my third visit here in about 7 years, and it was such a good experience, I had to sit down and write these 5-star words as soon as I got home just now. The staff at Miller Paint in Ballard are all professional, pleasant, and patient. They're also completely prepped for Pandemic Painting; the store is immaculate and set up for distancing. Easy to read signage is displayed throughout. They had clean pens for me to sign the payment slip at check-out. I felt safe here. I came for two types of tinted paint and supplies for two different outdoor projects. The clerk had a real eye for color, and he was perfectly happy to spend time showing me lots of swatches so I could compare tints and tones for both. Sheen is also an important factor when buying paint. He took me over to a giant wall display so I could compare the difference between semi-gloss, eggshell, flat, and everything else in between. Yes, I rubbed my fingers all over the samples to compare. Nice touch! The clerk even looked up my last order from 2017 in the computer system so we could accurately compare colors. I didn't remember ever submitting my information, but I'm glad I did. Miller Paint is so high-tech! But he went 'above and beyond' by suggesting we tint the primer base so that the final coat would look better. He spread a sample on cardboard so I could see the color. Do you think the guys at Home Depot have the time for this level of individualized service? Dream on! I'm lucky that I live so close by Miller Paint in Ballard. But even if you aren't a neighbor, you should still make a special trip out here to get what you need. I know they have other locations, but the happy people at the Ballard store make all the difference. Celebrate with paint! Miller Paint.

I bought a reel lawn mower in 2011, a photocell for my outdoor lights sometime shortly after that, and in 2025 I needed a hook blade utility knife. I think it was James who helped me out. I could not find them for the life of me but when I asked, he showed me where they were, helped me choose between the options, and sold me a really nice Milwaukee utility knife that was probably overkill but I like quality tools and it was nice to have that level of knife to cut through some tough Marmoleum flooring. I've read through the negative reviews and I think people should extend some grace to anyone trying to hire and retain quality employees in this day and age of self-centered people. It seems they acknowledge the negative experiences and commit to doing better. I think it's hard to expect more from people and I doubt anyone consistently gets better service at a big box store. I appreciate the small independent business owners who can stay afloat anywhere but particularly in business-hostile Seattle. I don't have a hardware store like this in my neighborhood (Leschi) so I think those who live nearby Greenwood should be thankful to have this neighborhood resource.

I ordered lavender rosemary latte but my coffee came as plain latte. The tall girl with short colorful hair is weird as if she has something against you! The food was even worse. My salad was full of wilted vegetables, and the bacon and potatoes were cold, hard, and clearly cooked hours ago. To top it off, the plates have deep grooves that make it impossible to eat--ketchup and egg yolks get stuck in the grooves. I genuinely worried about the material's safety. If you want to help people, start by serving fresh, safe food. I wouldn't be surprised if that salad was a health hazard. I just wasted over $30 for a very low quality food. Also, all the great looking food in the photos on yelp, on not served any longer.
