When I called to make my first appointment I was spoken to in a very condescending manner(was told my insurance plan would not cover services in their establishment without ever being asked for the plan I had), however I pushed through and made the appointment. When I showed up for that appointment I was treated nicely and professionally. When dr stechishin finished with me I was given 2 more appointments (one for 03/06 and another for 08/21) and appointment reminder cards, when I showed up to my next appointment I was told I was not on the schedule and would have to wait for the rest of the staff to arrive. My appointment was at 2pm (the staff have a lunch break from 1-2pm) the dr and receptionist arrived at 2:15pm the gentleman behind the desk told me their system loses appointments regularly, I was STILL understanding and asked for another appointment which was given to me quickly. I then ran home to grab the appointment card they had given me and confirmed I had arrived at the right time and date. I then checked the new appointment card and saw it was under a different name I returned to their office to resolve this and was told by the receptionist that he has over 1000 clients and cannot be bothered to remember each one! (Called me by multiple Spanish last names after I told him out loud what my name was this gave off very racist undertones) I then asked if they at least made my appointment for August and was told that was not in the system either. This behavior and attitude by the receptionist is completely unacceptable and downright comical I even asked how he planned to keep this from happening again and he basically stated he had no plan. Needless to say I'm canceling all future appointments and won't be returning to this circus they call a dental practice I wish I could better express how frustrated, insulted, and demeaned I felt read more

I just now went in for a discovered cracked filling, and again, she was very thorough but so very quick! She was kind and patiently guided me through the procedure. Mallory has been an immense help to us as we are new in Fort Bragg where many dentists we called we're not taking new patients or if they did, we wouldn't get in for months. So we were grateful that we found such a highly skilled dentist. My husband is very immune compromised and Mallory's skills and training handled that issue just fine. We've had 3 crowns done between us and frankly-it's hard to tell which molar was crowned-she matched them perfectly. Evan works hard to get us scheduled when we need to come in and works with our insurance company to get procedures covered. Mallory almost makes going to the dentist fun! She and her staff are friendly, timely, and helpful when it comes to how to bill your insurance company. And although they are no longer contracted with insurance companies (because insurance companies pay business in small communities less for their services), they can still bill them on your behalf. Stephen, the business manager and also Mallory's partner, is sharp, caring, and an excellent manager! I wish there was someone like Stephen running most businesses these days. He gets back to you when you leave a message, confirms appointments, calls you if they need to reschedule due to dental emergency and is respectful of you time! Didn't even get a chance to get through the front desk to visit the dentist. The man who is the receptionist has an Attitude (yes, with a capital A). He has no business working with the public, and as I stood in front of him wondering how a dentist (or anyone in business) would allow a person like this to represent them, I thought they had to be related. I have visited Dr. Stechishin three times: once for a cleaning/checkup (when my go-to dentist couldn't fit me in) and twice for a replacement crown. Not only was Stefan, the office manager, precise in scheduling, but his careful Covid check-in procedure surpassed our local hospital. Ignore the alleged scheduling "confusions" reported by others -- contrary to all my experiences. Dr. Stechishin is not only personable and articulate when pinpointing a problem (discovering a missed molar root canal issue that demanded urgent attention, referred elsewhere) but well-trained and competent -- deserving a term that fits all fine doctors: scrupulous. She also has "soft hands" when injecting and doing prep for the crown (which fit seamlessly and blended quickly into the background, as it should). In the Ft. My wife and I love this practice. Dr. Stechishin's practice is sorely needed here on the coast and I appreciate their efforts to launch during the pandemic. Stefan is always super efficient (follow up appointments made and coordinated with my insurance while I was still in the chair!) I was recently in Carmel for vacation. Out of nowhere I suddenly had extreme tooth pain. By the time I called the office, it was late afternoon on a Friday, and they had already left. However, Dr. Stechishin answered her phone, and after hearing the amount of pain I was in, and that I had a wedding to go to the next day, offered to come in early on Saturday to help me. I met her early on Saturday and she was amazing. It turned out I needed a root canal, she got it done quickly and then made an early appointment for me on the following Monday as a check-up to make sure I was doing ok. She was incredibly nice and professional. Her husband also made sure all the paperwork was submitted to the insurance company quickly. What could have really ruined my vacation ended up just being a ridiculous story to tell. If I lived in Carmel, I would definitely be making Dr. Stechishin my full-time dentist! read more

Since being the only network dentist in Fort Bragg I reached out to Dr. Stechishin. Having major dental problems is difficult enough, and then encountering a dentist that makes dealing with issues even worse makes it impossible to recommend her. If you don't ask questions you might like her, or if you don't need a referral (after driving over an hour, he was completely unprepared due to not receiving the information from her and not answering her phone) was the final straw. I had not been to a dentist in over ten years and had allowed my dental health to deteriorate horribly. The last two dentists I had been to did not treat me very well and turned me off from going to a dentist no matter how bad my teeth got. My teeth ended up rotting and starting to break. VERY unprofessional office. I left a message inquiring about an appointment for a check-up and cleaning. A guy called back and left me a message giving me two times to choose from (one on Monday and one on Tuesday). I called again and left a message saying Tuesday would work. I got a message Monday morning (yesterday) from the office saying Tuesday wouldn't work and saying the Monday afternoon one was what they had available for what I was needing to have done. I was unable to return the call yesterday and just figured they wouldn't schedule me for that time. Today (Tuesday), I get a call from the office with the guy upset that I didn't show up today. I explained that he had said in his message that Tuesday wasn't going to work. I apologized for not understanding and asked if we could try to set something up since we had made contact finally. He said, "No, actually, I'm not going to do that." Wow! I guess this this dentist has plenty of clients, if her receptionist can turn them away for no reason at all. read more

I just had the most strangest interaction with Dr. Stechishin's office. I have an emergency dental issue and am looking for a dentist in my area. I found her office number on my insurance company's site and called to see what is the earliest appointment I could get, in order to avoid prolonged pain. When I called, I got the voicemail and left a message explaining the situation and asking for someone to call me back. I then tried calling another doctor in the meantime, because my tooth is starting to experience pain and wasted to get the first appointment I could get and did not know how long it would take for Dr. Stechishin's office to get back with me. I did manage to get an appointment with another doctor, but not until five days later, which is a long time to wait with a toothache. I then called back Dr. Stechishin's office (by accident). Once I realized it was her office, I asked about the earliest appointment they had. The man that was on the phone had a bad attitude and after some back and forth proceeded to tell me that I should keep my appointment with the other doctor. I was so taken back by his attitude. I even mentioned to him that I can't believe you are turning a way a new patient. I am very baffled by his unfriendly and terrible customer/patient service. Apparently, he had returned my call while I was on another line, but I was unaware of that. Regardless, customers/patients should not be treated in the manner in which he treated me. I told him that his attitude answered my question as to whether or not I would select Dr. Stechishin's office as a dentist. Although, she was not the one who conversed with me on the phone, his unfriendly attitude represented her office and left a terrible taste in my mouth. I have been travelling internationally for years to have my dental care performed by Dr Stechishin. I would not trust anyone else. From routine checks and fillings to crowns, bridges and, most recently, a full set of veneers, the work has always been excellent. She is professional, approachable and fastidious in all she does. She works diligently and precisely to achieve perfection. Injections are gentle and almost imperceptible, yet effective and I experienced no pain. After any work, she continues to meticulously shape the result until I have no sense that anything in my mouth is different. My bite is strong and comfortable, yet my teeth look and feel so much better. I have remained seated in her chair for hours while she painstakingly finishes every detail. i had a denture made last year and it was a horrible experience. because of some mishaps in her office she was giving me the denture for free. i had one mild made and it was sent to the lab to be created. she asked me to drive to the lab and look it over. not knowing what i was doing i went to the lab. the teeth looked fine. remember this was after one mold. the next appointment i had my teeth pulled and the denture fitted. from the start i could see the teeth were too big. i couldn't close my mouth. she and her husband tried to convince me that's how it was suppose to be. i could eat. it hurt to wear and it kept falling out of my mouth. i went to another dentist who told me the denture was off. after hearing this she agreed to make another one. well this time we had a mold made and a few fittings. the new denture fit bit the teeth are too small. again. she tried to convince me this is how it was suppose to be. come to find out by her own admission she was trying out labs so she was getting these for free. i kept the new denture but never went back to her. i am i'm the process of finding a competent dentist to get me the right size denture. i would be so mad is they hadn't tried to convince me the first denture they gave me was correct. i looked like a rabbit. stay away from these people. they are shady. read more
