At the time there were only two other people in the waiting area - so I was pleased. However, I proceeded to wait in the patient waiting area for over an hour (after my scheduled appointment time) with no communication from staff regarding the delay. At approximately 2:30pm I approached the reception desk to ask if it is normal practice to have patients wait more than an hours time before being called in. The receptionists sarcastic response was "DEPENDS". That is extremely rude and completely unprofessional. Not only did I wait two hours but no one could even tell me when I would be seen. It was only when I approached the receptionists desk to make my inquiry did she then get the nurse to admit Dr. Epstein was backed up. Naturally, I cancelled my appointment -- as I have no interest in ever going back to this office. Lucky for me I only required a routine physical exam and was not actually sick.This is not the first time I've experienced this irresponsible neglegence at this office. It is very disheartening to see people behave so inconsiderately. I waited patiently for two hours. I would have continued to wait had I stayed because there is no consideration for anyone's time. Basically, when you make an appointment at this office you should be sure to block your calendar for the day's entirety as this is how long you could wait to be seen at this office. -Severely disgruntled

Hard to write a review for the entire group but it's so convenient to have a 1-stop shop for all your medical needs (especially when your primary doc or OB/GYN refers you to a specialist and all they have to do is email them your scans instead of you requesting a copy, waiting a couple days, etc.) It's very well organized. They also have a good relationship with the Vassar Ambulatory Surgery Center so they schedule a lot of outpatient procedures there (right across that manmade pond they have there). I'm not a huge fan of how these medical groups are getting so huge, but I have to say that the majority of the care that I get there (besides a few doctors in the internal medicine and orthopedic specialties, who shall remain nameless) is excellent. Dr Epstein epitomizes what I feel is going wrong with medicine - I had to see Dr. Epstein once because my regular doctor at the time was unavailable, due to having a lot of acid in my stomach and a lot of pain swallowing. He asked me what I did for a living (I work 1 FT job, 1 PT job and I go to school part-time at night) and basically said that "I need to relax because it's probably from nerves". I ended up getting an endoscopy as per the recommendation of Mid Hudson Medical Group's GI and guess what I had? 3 polyps (benign, thank God) in my esophagus and an ulcer in my stomach. Thanks for nothing, Dr. Epstein! If my polyps had kept growing, it would have required emergency surgery since they could have created a blockage. He seems very cocky and has a very big ego (but not a lot of skill to back it up) - not a great doctor. Go to someone else in the group.

The wait wasn't long, but that's about the only positive thing I can say. The assistant asked me the standard questions about my allergies and medications, which I answered clearly. Then Dr. Selena Lebron came in, asked the exact same questions again, and even accused me of not disclosing a drug allergy--something I had already told the assistant. She mumbled throughout the visit, barely making eye contact, and didn't even tell me whether my test was positive or not before jumping straight to prescribing two medications. When I asked for clarification--what the medications were, how many, when to take them, and what they were for--she seemed annoyed by my questions and said, "The pharmacy will give you instructions." Completely unacceptable. I also asked why I was having these symptoms and how I can prevent them. She then told me I'd get a referral to a urologist. Spoiler: I never received one. A few days later, I had severe side effects from the medication (nausea, vomiting, throbbing headache), so I called the clinic. The man who answered the phone was incredibly rude and dismissive. He offered no guidance and just said, "I don't know, go to the ER." Then another doctor got on the phone and said since the original doctor wasn't there, there was nothing he could do unless I came in and paid another co-pay--or went to the ER. No responsibility, no care, no concern. Just rude, unhelpful, and borderline negligent. I will never be going back to this place, and I strongly recommend others stay far away.

Too difficult to find the right number to call, and I always feel like I'm a pest when I call the 800 number (which is the absolute easiest number to locate).

He talked all about his family the whole time and complained about other patients that go there. At 7 months pregnant i wanted to switch doctors but i thought it was best to just stick it out... but then there was a problem with my insurance the day i went in for a visit and instead of them helping me correct the problem they said i could no longer come in until i fixed my insurance. Totonelly, one of the finest medical doctors in the Hudson Valley, with over 30 years of experience. In my first visit to Dr. Totonelly an ultrasound was performed on both my legs which helped to identify damaged veins. I was then very well educated by Dr. Totonelly regarding the varicose vein treatment I was to receive to relieve my vascular problems. I was really happy when my Aetna insurance approved the surgery, called Endovenous Ablation. That surgery was done in the office under local anesthetic and no hospitalization was required. It took approximately 45 minutes per leg, which were surgically repaired with a one week interval between the two surgeries. In both instances I was able to walk without any problems the same day of the respective surgeries. Amazingly, within a couple of weeks after the surgeries I STOPPED FEELING burning and annoying pain in my legs. Dr. Totonelly further advised me about cosmetic Laser spider vein treatment and Sclerotherapy to both legs. I received 4 treatment sessions to address my numerous spider veins. I could not believe it, but the treatments resulted in the complete disappearance of huge brown spots on my legs caused by poor blood circulation. It took 10 days of constant calling and leaving a call back number ( which they never called back) to discuss a billing issue to tell them they were in error. I finally called the receptionist and got thru to yet another very nasty person. Before I could discuss another concern , they hung on me. If these people are that unhappy with their jobs they should go elsewhere or be fired. There is no need to treat anyone especially Ill patients with such unprofessional attitudes. I could go on with so much more with several other situations but I would look elsewhere for dr care. The humiliation you need to go thru to see a good doctors is not worth it.
