Malis Restaurant (formerly Khmer Family Cafe) specializes in three items. 1. Roast Duck 2. Roast Pork 3. Stir Fry Intestines I've been here twice for the roast pork and I agree that the roast pork is the best in town! It's juicy, tender, and extremely flavorful. The skin is sooo crispy. Even the accompanying sauce is excellent paired together. The price for roast pork is by the pound. They'll offer to cut or chop it as well. Payment in cash or card is accepted. As a takeout only spot, don't expect much in terms of service or ambiance. The focal point really is the food. The roast pork is superb. I'll be back to try the roast duck.

Finally! Another local in Fresno to get sir fried pork intestines (innards and ears) besides Chin's Kitchen. There's nothing wrong with Chin's, it just nice to not have to drive across town. And guess what?! The flavor's different here. Which is a good thing. My first time here (09/05/20) covid is still in full effect. The shop is small, but there were stickers on the floor to keep us apart. I haven't reviewed on Yelp in a long time! It appears that I use to judge too harshly. Malis is a solid 4 stars. I recommend. Get a roast duck and share it with some friends. If you like innards, you gotta try these out too. I know, everything I just recommended is on the heavier fatty side, well balance that sh*t out with some hot tea and a salad. Malis I will definitely be returning for some more innards. Maybe even try some other dishes. Thank you.

This place is very good. They even waited for me after 6pm when I called to say I'll be a few mins late. I've had their roast duck, pork and intestines. All 3 are very consistent in taste. With intestines you get to pick the parts you want and heat level.

Food is great! Service is alright but I don't go there for the service only for the food.

Mom and dad were friendly and engaging , they stepped out for a bit to visit with their other customers and myself. With mom and dad presence I felt like home , a nostalgic heart warming feelings at one of my aunts/ uncles house for a meal. Unfortunately the young lady needs improvement , on her customers service skills. All though she has her mask on, her tone of voice seems cold and unwelcoming. The restaurant doesn't have much of an esthetic ambience, walls decorated with Khmer Angkor paintings, other part of the restaurant were cluttered. Nonetheless the food and the friendly inviting atmosphere with the both parents what stood out to me . #25 BBQ pork / steam rice with egg $15.99 Definitely recommend, the pork was moist , loads of flavors with a hint of lemongrass. #28 BBQ pork & Eggroll vermicelli Bowl $13.99 . The pork was well seasoned and the accompany sauce blended well together with the noodle salad. #38 beef lok lak $19.99 comes with rice , salt lime pepper sauce and lettuce , tomato . The beef is more chewy , not tender . Pair well with the lettuce wrap dip in lime salt pepper sauce . Catering tray needs at least one day notice .

But since we were dinning in I decided to try their Steak and Eggs with the bread. It was sooooooo good. The warm bread was crunchy on the outside and nice and soft in the inside. The eggs and meat came out on a sizzling try. There were two sunny side up eggs, thick cut of sweet/salty/tender marinated beef, small mushrooms, and pate on top. Paired with the bread this was a very comforting and delicious dish. The Nam Nuong rolls were good. Good portion of fillings and great crunchiness of the eggrolls wrappers and thick cut of the nam Nuong pork. I was only disappointed in the sauce. It was good but lacking depth of flavors. I think my expectation was it go be like the ones at Brodard's. And it wasn't. Located in the back corner, it can be a little hard to find parking if it gets busy but there is also the side parking lot. There was a wait list but we waited in line at the to go counter to ask to be seated. We were given our water and ordered. Once the food was dropped off we weren't checked up on again but this didn't bother us and you pay at the counter afterwards. The place had a lot of seatings with some seatings outside. There were tv playing Vietnamese food channels that was cool. I didn't get anything from their huge options of drinks and Che this time though. Looking forward to doing so next time. If you haven't tried this place, I would highly recommend their Vietnamese sandwiches with extra pate and butter.

The location is right next to a gas station so little parking available. They have a food truck outside next to their dine-in inside. I like that they have a limited menu so that's was good. I will say this, I've never had Hmong food so I am not sure how it should taste. I order half dozen egg rolls and three spring rolls, and a large Nab Vam drink. The egg rolls were crispy, although the glass noodles inside caught me off guard. Actually, I didn't like them... I do like their sweet and spicy sauce though. The spring rolls were nice and thick, and I like that they add pork to theirs. Definitely filling. However, their peanut sauce is overwhelming spicy. It kinda masks the nutty flavor of the peanut butter. The drink was ok. I love how colorful it was. I listen to the guy and shake my drink well, but I didn't find it no where sweet. I think I had expectations that it would taste like a boba drink but yea it felt off for me. Other wise, it's ok. I ended up disagreeing with my friend on the eggrolls claim lol

This pho has a deep, rich, and flavorful broth, with a generous amount of meat. Our server encouraged us to melt some of the marrow into the broth, resulting in a silky and decadent soup. It is easily one of the best phos I've had in America, hands down. All of the staff is super friendly, and I never felt like I was waiting for too long to put in an order or get a refill. Ordered pork chop, hot tea and pho with marrow which I have already reviewed. Pork chop and sauce is a number two seller directly behind the pho. When I want a pork chop, I want it moist, and the fat crispy and salted and seasoned well. This hit every single mark! I normally care that I am in a restaurant and don't chew on bones. I did not have one care in the world and picked up my pork chop bone and chewed every single crispy morsel of caramelized goodness from that bone. The sauce that accompanies the pork, rice and egg was slightly sweet and was the perfect balance to dip rice and pork into! It was light and bright and enhanced the flavors not overpowering them. The egg. It is surprising how many places can't cook an egg where the yolks natural fatty goodness isn't overcooked. I busted the yolk and let it drip all over my rice mixing it in to give the perfect amount of salt and fat mixed with the swing pork and sauce! It was a perfectly delicate bite filled with different textures! I will definitely order this again! The hot tea is made with natural herbs in it and not a cheap paper tea bag like other places. It is very simple, mild tea that is easy on the tongue and the belly. I enjoy my pot of hot tea every time I come! Thanks again for a day filled with excellent customer service and phenomenal food! Will I return: I HAVE BEEN FIVE TIMES THIS MONTH ALONE!

I wanted to try it myself so decided to swing by today for some Thai food. It's very clean inside with Christmas decorations still up. The lady was friendly and brought us waters and menus and asked if we had any questions. I have been craving chicken pad Thai so I went with that and my dining partners ordered Lad na with beef and shrimp and flat noodles with tofu and vegetable. Sodas are $1.85. And Thai tea is $4.50. I actually really enjoyed the Thai tea. It wasn't as sweet as other places and It had a very creamy flavor to it. As far as my dish, I thought it had really good flavor profile, it wasn't too sweet and it wasn't spicy at all. My only gripe is I didn't really get that much chicken and I don't like to fill up on just noodles because that's empty calories and not as satisfying. Next time I will probably order extra chicken with an up charge. I sampled the other two dishes and they had good flavors as well. Nothing tasted bland here. Pricing is also on the lower end compared to other similar establishments, and the menu is quite varied, but with a lot of traditional Thai dishes. I would like to come back and try some appetizers and maybe pad see ew.
