Malis Restaurant (formerly Khmer Family Cafe) specializes in three items. 1. Roast Duck 2. Roast Pork 3. Stir Fry Intestines I've been here twice for the roast pork and I agree that the roast pork is the best in town! It's juicy, tender, and extremely flavorful. The skin is sooo crispy. Even the accompanying sauce is excellent paired together. The price for roast pork is by the pound. They'll offer to cut or chop it as well. Payment in cash or card is accepted. As a takeout only spot, don't expect much in terms of service or ambiance. The focal point really is the food. The roast pork is superb. I'll be back to try the roast duck.

Finally! Another local in Fresno to get sir fried pork intestines (innards and ears) besides Chin's Kitchen. There's nothing wrong with Chin's, it just nice to not have to drive across town. And guess what?! The flavor's different here. Which is a good thing. My first time here (09/05/20) covid is still in full effect. The shop is small, but there were stickers on the floor to keep us apart. I haven't reviewed on Yelp in a long time! It appears that I use to judge too harshly. Malis is a solid 4 stars. I recommend. Get a roast duck and share it with some friends. If you like innards, you gotta try these out too. I know, everything I just recommended is on the heavier fatty side, well balance that sh*t out with some hot tea and a salad. Malis I will definitely be returning for some more innards. Maybe even try some other dishes. Thank you.

This place is very good. They even waited for me after 6pm when I called to say I'll be a few mins late. I've had their roast duck, pork and intestines. All 3 are very consistent in taste. With intestines you get to pick the parts you want and heat level.

Food is great! Service is alright but I don't go there for the service only for the food.

Mom and dad were friendly and engaging , they stepped out for a bit to visit with their other customers and myself. With mom and dad presence I felt like home , a nostalgic heart warming feelings at one of my aunts/ uncles house for a meal. Unfortunately the young lady needs improvement , on her customers service skills. All though she has her mask on, her tone of voice seems cold and unwelcoming. The restaurant doesn't have much of an esthetic ambience, walls decorated with Khmer Angkor paintings, other part of the restaurant were cluttered. Nonetheless the food and the friendly inviting atmosphere with the both parents what stood out to me . #25 BBQ pork / steam rice with egg $15.99 Definitely recommend, the pork was moist , loads of flavors with a hint of lemongrass. #28 BBQ pork & Eggroll vermicelli Bowl $13.99 . The pork was well seasoned and the accompany sauce blended well together with the noodle salad. #38 beef lok lak $19.99 comes with rice , salt lime pepper sauce and lettuce , tomato . The beef is more chewy , not tender . Pair well with the lettuce wrap dip in lime salt pepper sauce . Catering tray needs at least one day notice .

We ordered the soup with Kreung, two difference types of pho, rice porridge, orange chicken, and the pad Thai chicken. We also ordered the pork vermicelli and the lok lak. All of the dishes were great and prepared well and quickly. Everything twe had was absolutely delicious. The main soup, kreung, was very authentic and had all the right flavors. The pho and the porridge was also delicious, though I will say the beef ball pho had less flavor than the Cambodian pho we had. The porridge was also delicious with garlic flavors. The pad Thai had great, typical flavors, though the chicken was a bit dry. I loved the orange chicken, which came with rice and a delicious egg roll. The orange chicken had so much flavor and even came with some veggies and I think pineapple. Our favorite was the Chinese fried donut, which they have made fresh for the store. It was super delicious. The desserts they have made for them on the weekend, sesame balls and the sweet and savory donut, were both so delicious. We truly enjoyed everything that we had, which is why we came two days in a row. My only regret is that they've been open for almost 20 years and we haven't tried them earlier. What a great restaurant and cute family business. Hope they do well!

The location is right next to a gas station so little parking available. They have a food truck outside next to their dine-in inside. I like that they have a limited menu so that's was good. I will say this, I've never had Hmong food so I am not sure how it should taste. I order half dozen egg rolls and three spring rolls, and a large Nab Vam drink. The egg rolls were crispy, although the glass noodles inside caught me off guard. Actually, I didn't like them... I do like their sweet and spicy sauce though. The spring rolls were nice and thick, and I like that they add pork to theirs. Definitely filling. However, their peanut sauce is overwhelming spicy. It kinda masks the nutty flavor of the peanut butter. The drink was ok. I love how colorful it was. I listen to the guy and shake my drink well, but I didn't find it no where sweet. I think I had expectations that it would taste like a boba drink but yea it felt off for me. Other wise, it's ok. I ended up disagreeing with my friend on the eggrolls claim lol

Noticed a fellow yelper and old friend who made a stop here as well a few yrs ago. So cant say no to that! Food was delicious and authentic! It is limited to what Im used to but completely understands due to the area and preferences of the community. Most important is the main items are good. Let say it was good enough I wished I had more. Almost ordered for seconds! Got #1 plus bone marrow and #41 pork chop with eggs rice plate. Then topped it off with Vietnamese coffee for the long drive home. I barely drank half and feel the jitters already so drink in sips, people! Then again I recently cut back on coffee which doesn't help but you have been warned if you don't drink coffee routinely. What stood out extra was the amazing customer service. It's family owned and operated and we felt at home as if we were their home guest! They were extremely attentive and checked on us very often.

I wanted to try it myself so decided to swing by today for some Thai food. It's very clean inside with Christmas decorations still up. The lady was friendly and brought us waters and menus and asked if we had any questions. I have been craving chicken pad Thai so I went with that and my dining partners ordered Lad na with beef and shrimp and flat noodles with tofu and vegetable. Sodas are $1.85. And Thai tea is $4.50. I actually really enjoyed the Thai tea. It wasn't as sweet as other places and It had a very creamy flavor to it. As far as my dish, I thought it had really good flavor profile, it wasn't too sweet and it wasn't spicy at all. My only gripe is I didn't really get that much chicken and I don't like to fill up on just noodles because that's empty calories and not as satisfying. Next time I will probably order extra chicken with an up charge. I sampled the other two dishes and they had good flavors as well. Nothing tasted bland here. Pricing is also on the lower end compared to other similar establishments, and the menu is quite varied, but with a lot of traditional Thai dishes. I would like to come back and try some appetizers and maybe pad see ew.

The food is flavorful, the customer service was so good, food was fresh, and done in a timely manner. The portions are large, and I had to take half home with me. Loved the mango with coconut sticky rice, but especially because it had no seeds. I can't eat seeds right now and they don't put any on this scrumptious dessert. It was the perfect combination. The rice was airy, fluffy, and really seasoned well. If you've never been, this is a real hidden gem. The one dish we could agree was good was my sons, otherwise this might be a 2 star review. But let me set up the stage. We've been going all day. 2 of us haven't eaten all day, and it's 3:00 pm. We're very hungry! And my wife has a headache that she is trying to brave for the sake of our daughter. She just promoted to high school a few minutes early, and really, it's her fault we are here. She wanted fried rice and this is what Yelp told us was a good place to eat. We walk in and while it's cooler than the 98 degrees outside, but it doesn't feel relieving. I later saw that the temperature was set to 85 degrees. The menu is pretty straightforward. I'm split between the beef salad, the laab and the Thai salad. I really like laab but only when it comes with sticky rice. Beef salad is one of my favorite dishes and it's really filling. But it has to be done right! The authentic spots usually get it right. The bourgeois restaurants usually get it wrong. I'm getting good vibes from Thai Season so I give it a go. Everyone else gets orange chicken, fried rice and garlic chicken with pad Thai. My daughter complained that her pork fried rice had huge chunks of broccoli and onion in it, but she still liked it. My wife felt her chow mein wasn't very good. I thought it was bland, but she liked her fried rice. My youngest liked his orange chicken and fried rice. My wife and I felt the orange chicken was just OK. Panda has better to be honest. My beef salad was just OK. Possibly the laziest way I've had it was with Italian dressing. 2 different restaurants for that too me. The way I like it, and the way I make mine, is with a homemade citrusy dressing. I could not pin the reason why this one failed, other than it tasted watered down. Hands down though, we all felt my sons garlic chicken and pad Thai was the best dish by far. I almost gave this 3 stars until I remembered I paid $92. Maybe I need to stay out of Clovis. Apparently they like bland food If there was one thing I liked, they serve everything in ready to go boxes.
