This was very first visit to this theater and I was very impressed. The staff was extremely pleasant and friendly. The theater chairs are very comfortable and everything was amazing. I will be visiting this location more often, because it's closer to my house.

ample parking, close to plenty of eateries. adult beverages and snacks are also available. Very clean environment, clean restrooms and clean theaters. Spacious seating.. starting to like this hidden in plain sight location

This Malco studio is a great asset to the community. I can't believe this was my first time going. We decided to walk over after lunch on a Sunday afternoon. When I first walked in I was reminded of an old school type theatre. So, movie goers don't be surprised. During the afternoon the tickets were priced at $9. I think that was still a little pricy considering the prices at other places. It was cool. Great spot for those who are in the neighborhood.

I love going for nachos and cheese over popcorn myself. When I go to the theater to watch a movie.

This Malco location has to be my 2nd favorite as it is a relatively small walk to restaurants Like Local Bosco's Bogie's & Bayou (read my reviews of these reataurants) without having to cross the street. Studio on the Square offers spacious parking for its patrons. It's also offers the Bar & Grill like some of their select locations (like Wolfchase Collierville or Ridgeway four) great consessions stand & quality service like a majority of their other theaters in the Memphis area. I like the fact this Malco will feature locally screened movies & some select releases you won't find at other Malco theathers. I want to see The View Within starring Millington localMario Reed in his documentary about his journey in life. Seating was very comfortable & spacious. Wonderful screen but not as impressive as their other locations. But doesn't take away from the movie going experience one bit. I will definitely come to this theater when I'm gonna have a big weekend with dinner movie & a live show afterwards. Enjoy the show. For showtimes and listings to this location go to www.malco.com or download their app to your device.

Here for a special screening of "View Within" and Mario Reed's story of courage and inspiration. As for the venue I always enjoy this neighborhood theatre that has a friendly staff with a nice prompt entry, it's a real cozy feel. They only have five screens, but they show a lot of independant films and they're really the only theatre in town that does that and the building itself is very nice. There is a coffee and alcohol bar where you can buy your beverages with plenty of food and there are even free posters. The walls are covered with murals of classic hollywood actors, actresses and movie scenes. I really appreciate this particular evening because they have screened this local and independent film, just nice!

I don't know about you, but I don't know of any movie theaters that wine, except for this one. Instead of popcorn and coke, treat yourself to a glass of red and a sausage and cheese plate. There are little bistro tables scattered throughout the lobby so that you can sit and enjoy before you head in for the movie. Or take it in with you if you choose. A smaller theater, Studio on the Square still shows the major new releases as well as indie films. If you're itching to see a show and you don't want to fight the large crowds or wait in line for refreshments, go to Studio on the Square.

    Very artistis and eccentric theater.

My wife got us tickets to see Gary Owen because she knows how much I love seeing him. The show was absolutely great and she picked some very good seats. I did feel like he cut the show just a little short. There's always that one drunk person that wants to yell out from the crowd. I think it was starting to irritating. What can you say about the orpheum? That hasn't already been said. It's a very nice historical place. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars. Is because like everyone else, they take advantage of people on concessions. I realized back in the day. This is the way places made their money. It's a little different these days. They make plenty of money on the shows. My other small complaint is the seating. Although its way better than Minglewood Hall, the seats are just too close together. I'm a big fella, and it's just very uncomfortable. Overall, they put on great shows and the place is very nice. I definitely wouldn't let the small things stop you from going.

You can also order food from your seat at this theater. They have drinks and grill type food. Although. I like the olive branch theater much better, this one's not bad. If you go during the week. The weekends, it tends to be a hangout for a lot of young kids. The inside is fairly clean. And the service is good. I just wish they would open up more registers. The popcorn tends to taste a little old at times, but for the most part it's ok. I recommend this theater if you want the recliner seats. If that's not a big deal to you. The olive branch theater is much nicer and they have the bar grille as well.

We were able to immediately buy our tickets from the kiosk. No wait! The line for the concession stand was long but moved quickly. That was surprising and enjoyed. Of course, the concession stand is not cheap but the popcorn and the nachos were good. Worth the money! The actual theater itself is clean and the reclining seats make it very comfortable. I did not try the service, but the sign said you could even have hot food delivered to your seat right in the theater. I don't often go to the movie theater, but when I do, I'll make sure to return to the Malco DeSoto cinema.
