Just had knee surgery yesterday with Dr. Chudik and I'm super happy with the whole experience from…read morestart to finish! Dr. Chudik came highly recommended by my PT. I was able to get an initial appointment scheduled right away, zero wait! My appointment started on time. He ordered an x-ray (on-site) and then determined I needed an MRI (also on-site) so I came back a few days later for the MRI, once my insurance agreed. Once he determined what was needed he offered to do surgery the next day! I decided to wait 5 days, but I was really impressed that he could arrange for surgery so quickly! So far so good with the surgery outcome. His bedside manner is lovely. He met with my husband and I pre-op at the surgical center then my husband again after the procedure while I was waking up in Recovery. He individualized the plan as I have a duel diagnosis of cancer. It would appear that his surgical skill is excellent too as I actually feel really good and it's only 24 hours post-op. So I'm pretty sure he solved the problem! I'm up walking on crutches, no swelling and just a bit of pain! I also want to give a shout out to the other members of Dr. Chudik's awesome team at Hinsdale Orthopaedics: Brecken the athletic trainer who did my initial screening was professional, efficient, attentive to my worries, and made sure all my questions were addressed. Pat in X-ray, who I saw on two separate days, was so friendly and upbeat and she remembered when I came back the second time that we were distant Irish cousins so that's a fun coincidence. Jason in MRI scheduling was friendly and helpful, checked my insurance for me and scored me an evening MRI spot so I wouldn't miss work. Michelle the PA squeezed me in for a last-minute pre-op visit then took loads of time with me and made sure all my concerns were addressed, even called to check on me the night prior. Front desk clerks were friendly too. Great experience! I highly recommend Dr. Chudik for orthopedic surgery!

Over the years, he has performed successful procedures on my shoulder, both legs, wrist, and elbow. Most recently, in the summer of 2025, I underwent a full knee replacement under his care, and the entire experience--from initial consultation to recovery--has been exceptional. What stands out most about Dr. Romano is his conservative and thoughtful approach. When he first noted that I might eventually need a knee replacement, he didn't rush to schedule surgery. Instead, he made the recommendation but gave me the time and space to decide when I was ready. I ultimately waited a year before going through with it, and I'm very glad I did it on my own timeline with his continued support. Pre-operative care was outstanding. His team provides clear, thorough guidance to help patients prepare for surgery, including medical and lab clearances, and a pre-surgery meeting to ensure everything is in order. I had my procedure at Rush Oak Park, which--like Dr. Romano's team--was excellent across the board. Though it was an outpatient surgery, I stayed overnight and received top-notch care throughout. Dr. Romano came to see me in the recovery area shortly after surgery to check in personally, reassure me, and explain how the procedure had gone. What impressed me even more was that he returned the following day--Saturday--to visit me in the hospital. He didn't have to do that; Rush has hospitalists assigned to oversee patient transitions and discharge. But Dr. Romano took the time to come in himself, examine me, and ensure everything was on track. That level of care and commitment is rare and deeply appreciated. He also gave me his personal cell phone number so I could text him directly with any questions or concerns. That kind of accessibility is almost unheard of, and he was genuinely responsive. Of course, his office team is also attentive and available, but knowing I could reach him personally was incredibly reassuring. Follow-up care has been just as thoughtful. At my post-operative visit, a member of his office team carefully checked my scar tissue, explained the next steps in recovery, and extended necessary medications. It's clear that patient well-being and recovery are top priorities for Dr. Romano and his entire staff. In-home physical therapy--arranged through a company they work with--has also been exceptional. The professionals from Interim HealthCare have been friendly, skilled, and focused on results. From the initial office consultation, through surgery and into the follow-up visit with the doctor, all of the Hinsdale Orthopedics staff we encountered were terrific. I hesitate to name some of the staff specifically, because they were all professional, helpful and courteous, but I offer 3 in particular. Katie: during the initial office visit in August and the follow up visit in late October, Katie was knowledgeable, caring and patient. She answered all of our questions carefully and made my mom feel like she was a VIP. You can tell when someone takes pride in their work - that's Katie. Judy: working behind the scenes, Judy took care of all of the scheduling details. But more importantly, she took the time to check on progress and results. In the critical week before surgery, she noted that the labs facility (not affiliated with their office) had not followed through on the lab orders correctly. She alerted me so I could get my mom's labs taken care of so we didn't lose the surgery date. Kudos to Judy for great communications and taking the time to care about us. Dr. Alden: doctor made my mom feel at ease with his easy-going manner. Once he established that surgery was the best course of action, he made it clear that the timeline was entirely up to us - absolutely no pressure. He carefully explained her options, fully answered our questions and discussed the expectations of surgery. Interaction at the hospital and follow-up at the office was likewise caring and patient. We have no other experience to compare to. This was the first joint replacement surgery in our immediate family. But without hesitation, we would recommend Dr. Alden and his excellent staff. As I write this, mom is 3 weeks and 3 days post-surgery. For the most part, she has graduated from the walker and is using the cane around the house, becoming more independently mobile every day. Prior to surgery, she had very significant bone-on-bone pain. Her pain is now limited to minor muscle pain as she gets adapted to her new hip and increased mobility. The prognosis is for zero pain in the very near future. Thank you Dr. Alden for giving my mom a new period in her life of increased mobility and much less pain.

The therapist (ATI) recommended by Hinsdale Orthopedics was totally incompetent but I was JUST getting my range of motion back and the MUA caused swelling putting me back to square one. Had he not done that, I would've gotten my ROM back. Insurance dropped me because I "wasn't making progress". I fell into deep depression as I was an extreme athlete and now I'm a cripple with a cane.

His experience and dedication to his profession is very obvious with the amount of time he spent with me reviewing my x-rays and symptoms. He gave me conservative as well as surgical suggestions. After much contemplation and the realization that the pain had gotten to be too much, I decided to have surgical intervention on one foot. Well, 4 months later I am so happy and pain free, that I am scheduled for my other foot in a month. I couldn't be happier with Dr. Nichols and his staff. They have all made this experience so easy and pain free!! I've referred all of my friends and family with foot problems to him.

I am a runner and I went to Dr. Nichols as a refferal from my family doctor. My experience has been…read moreterrible. The first visit I went, Dr. Nichols said I had a neuroma.He injected my foot with cortisone, without asking my if I wanted the injection or discussing what the injection was even for. It was very painful! He used a 2" long needle that went between my toes and through my foot. The worst part is, my foot now had ANOTHER pain for a week and a half from the shot. It did not help at all but made my pain worse! The bill for the shot that I didn't even ask for was $140!!! And he acted like it would cost nothing and forced me to get it when we were one-on-one in the patient room. I went back to Dr. Nichols a month later complaining of the same foot pain. He still thought it was a neuroma, and said to look and see if my insurance would pay for custom orthotics (otherwise $800). He had no real answer or diagnosis for me, even after taking X-Rays. Two weeks later, I went to a Sports Medicine doctor in the Cadance physician group. He said that I most definitely did not have a neuroma as Dr. Nichols said, but that my issue was metartarsalglia. He told me where to get a ball of the foot pad that would support my big toe up while I was running extra long distances. It has worked! And now I'm able to run 10 + miles without pain! My experience with Dr. Nichols definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. Seeing a specialist isn't cheep! And then they stabbed me with another $140 bill!. Awful.
