I did not take my decision to go to star physical therapy lightly. I have "known" of them for many many years as my family dr. is across the hall. I have chronic spine pain from a slip and fall backward impacting mid back on a metal bar. a lumbar surgery, a cervical surgery, as well as many many stints of various injections, physical therapists, traction that was a joke, many different dr's of different medical teaching, I found myself being told to do pt and/or chiro. I had been intrigued about the cold laser therapy for a little while and saw star pt does it and their reviews were very positive. I figured I would give them a chance, after all, I have no problem leaving when the therapy is not helping. I originally was going because "the surgeon" said so, and I know the routine. everytime you start with a "new" dr. they all follow "the routine".
I kept going because they really were giving me some relief! The pain was so very severe. THEN, I got a case of vertigo that was so bad. I called dr. haas to cancel my appointment and he said, "no, come in, I can help you." I did and yes, he had me vertigo free after three visits. We shifted back to the spine pain but my knee had gotten so bad that I paused on chiropractic and PT so i could let it rest a bit. The spine pain shot back up and I needed to get the level down in order to go through knee replacement surgery. I am now back with them to do what they can to keep spine pain down until I recover enough from knee surgery to have neck surgery, again. Unfortunately, I will be cut off PT by medicare very soon and I dont know what I will do then. However, come january, whenever I am having an issue, I will be going right back to Star.
I wish I could say that we had met under different circumstances but, Dr. Hass (yes, he's dr. OF physical therapy) is very good at what he does. He gave me every therapy he had at his fingertips to help me. He really cared about me. He always has the best interest of his patients in mind. I can really see how so many call him friend, as I do now, all of the people at Star really! They all have little tips and hints of all kinds, like wetting a tennis ball and putting in the freezer to have ready when you need to ice and work out a muscle cramp (thanks Diana lol). When to do a particular exercise and when you just aren't ready for it. He really knows how to give you exercises to help strengthen your core without hurting you, no matter how deconditioned you are. All of his helpers are very knowledgeable also. Diana, Rhea, and Srbana-I really hope I spelled your names correct. As I returned to star, Dr. Haas had taken some well deserved time away and the "fill in" turned out to be his teacher who was even more knowledgeable, if you can believe it! Dr. Marzouk was able to explain part of the reason why I had vertigo due to the state of my neck and pressing on the blood supply! things that the "Doctors" would not even think of! It's sad, really.
If you need any kind of help in your body, STAR is the place to go.
