What a great little studio! Patti has been so patient with me, even though I can barely sew a…read morestraight line. I love that no matter whatever I want to make, Patti still encourages me, and seems truly delighted in my meager accomplishments. She is a true teacher, taking time to explain details again and again. She willingly shares details and knowledge from her lifetime of sewing, down to what kind of pin to use, to where to find the least expensive magnetic pincushion. Who knew? I've even learned how to make my own patterns! The atmosphere is always calm and focused, and I find it a welcome respite from my busy day to day life. Sewing has become a meditative practice for me now, which I look forward to every week. Patti is able to juggle every skill level in class, whether someone is just learning the bare bones basics, to the much more advanced. She's pretty well connected in the sewing world too, and hosts really interesting guest workshops. The studio is small and very tidy, with easy parking just outside the door. Classes are currently on a month to month basis, which is nice because it's not a huge commitment. I've seen students come for just a month, to get help on a specific project. Yep, she can do that too. And for the record, I've seen 2 men in class, everyone is welcome, West Side Sewing Studio is my little weekly getaway. I come home relaxed and focused, and I get to make cute stuff!

Chef Jay is very warm and communicative and was easy to work with when considering menu options and making final recipe decisions for our lesson. Everything can be tailored to your interests, tastes, and the degree of challenge you're looking to tackle. We decided on tofu parmesan, homemade pasta, and a summer tomato sauce. The food was absolutely delicious--I ate every bite! His teaching style is approachable and inclusive. The conversation was great, as well, making for an all-around wonderful evening. Even as a non-vegan, I would highly recommend booking Chef Jay for a unique date night, a team-building exercise, as a gift, or as a fun activity for the entire family. I joked that I never have to think again about what to get my vegan sister for her birthday, and I don't think she'd mind it one bit if this is what we did every year. 10/10 phenomenal experience!

Sean the owner is a gracious host (plus he played in local ska heroes Big D & the Kids Table), his assistant Shanna is beyond helpful and kind with her time & the one teacher I interacted with Danilo is awesome too!! Shawn would have his lessons and improved greatly over his time there. We also got to watch young kids work on song writing, arranging and performing which was super cool to see!! I would recommend YOU ROCK for anyone that wants to play when if you have never tried before. They have summer camps for kids, adult classes, group classes, private lessons, recording studio, pod cast studio and even a performance area. Give Shanna a call or stop in and check it it for yourself!! A+++ great place, great people and a great mission to spread a true love of music.

I was a customer for approximately 12 years, and this was the final straw. Over the years, I…read moreexperienced repeated scheduling problems--appointments canceled at the last minute, students not showing up, arriving in the parking lot only to be told my appointment was canceled, and poor communication during weather closures. On one occasion, I drove to the school during a snowstorm only to find appointments had been canceled without notifying clients, even though they have an automated notification system. I continued giving them chances because I understood it was a school. Unfortunately, my last visit ended with another disappointing experience, and instead of addressing my concerns as a loyal, paying customer, I was told I could no longer return. Students are there to learn technical skills and customer service. I expected management to use this as a teaching opportunity, not to dismiss a customer who had supported the school for over a decade. I cannot recommend this school based on my experience
