I never recommend anyone unless I can stand behind it. I highly recommend Giovanissa! I've never been big on getting my makeup done. It's hard shelling out hard earned money on the chance you might end up looking like a wet dog, tore up, hideous. That is not a problem with Giovanissa! She asks you what you have in mind, but if you want her to give you something out of your usual routine she envisions a look that will enhance and accentuate your best features. I was searching and searching for a MUA and came across Giovanissa on Yelp. I was so glad to have came to her ! I had a graduation on June 12 and had made my appointment months in advance (out of excitement and paranoia of no appointment times that would work for myself) She asks for potential make up looks and hair styles since she teams up with a stylist and offers these services. She always sends texts for confirmation which is great because it reminds me of our appointment. Please read all of the agreement in the text ! While I was in getting my make-up done, some rambunctious bridezilla was calling and saying she didn't read her agreement about a travel fee... yikes don't blame others for your irresponsibility. I wrote up all info with photos in emails and sending out quote requests to local vendors for my upcoming wedding. I wasn't able to find their email on yelp or anywhere online, so I called the number. Google voice transferred me to a live person. Super unprofessional and impatient. She literally reprimanded me, a potential customer, for asking for an email as she keeps insisting I text her the info. I don't think I got a word in. There are plenty of talented make-up artists in nearby areas, I don't need to deal with a vendor that is demanding and rude, especially when I am paying for their services and who talks to their customers that way. Unacceptable. I'm not going pay and have to feel like I am walking on egg shells on my wedding. You say one thing wrong and they are literally YELLING at you. NO THANKS!!! I told her I wanted something natural and not too heavy make-up for my engagement photo shoot since it was going to be at the beach. After looking at multiple makeup artists and hair stylists for my wedding, I came across Giovanissa's page and WOW! Her work is amazing. Just got my make up done by Giovanissa.. i found her on yelp and i decided to go with her based on her experience and her great reviews... as soon as i requested an appointnent, she contacted me and booked me... the entire experience was amazing.... she is absolutely a delightful person... i told her briefly what i wanted and she did her magic!!! Ladies regardless of the look... you can NOT go wrong with her!!! She gets to know you in that short amount of time to achieve the look you desire!!! I know this review will probably be removed due to the unethical ways that some of these platforms are set up, but I hope it isn't removed because there are a couple of very important things to note before booking with Giovanissa. I went to her months ago and I don't like writing reviews, but even though months have passed since she did my makeup, it still upsets me when I remember her, so I had to write this. She will ask you if you want contoured makeup. It costs about $25 extra and is not worth it, but if you say no, you must let her know a couple more times before she starts your makeup because she will still contour, so she can charge the extra $25 if she thinks she can get away with it. BEWARE. She will send you an extremely long and very poorly written agreement, which she actually expects you to read all the way through. Near the end of this agreement is where you'll find the code to get into her building. She expects you to either memorize the code or pull it up to retrieve the numbers while you're standing out on the street. Do not call her while standing outside her gate and ask for the code. She will rip into you and make you feel stupid for not knowing the code. Also, she will not buzz you in. She will insist that you go back into the long and poorly written agreement to find the code and to let yourself in. Again, she will not buzz you in. When you finally make it to her front door, she will act like nothing happened and will proceed to be nice in that very fake way. You know which way I'm talking about and you will be uncomfortable the entire time you are there. She does a good job. She has skills, but so do a thousand other artists in LA and most of them are much more professional. Her prices are average for an artist working in a salon, but they are very high for someone who works out of her apartment dining area. If you don't mind rudeness. If you don't mind leaving a place feeling like you just got hustled, then go ahead and book with her. Otherwise, there are plenty of alternatives in LA. No need to settle. read more

WOW LASHES!!! After having individual lashes for almost a month my regular lashes needed some lift. Giovanissa walks you through the whole process which is great and the results are amazing. Woke up on Friday and decided I was going to have my makeup done on Saturday for my god daughters wedding. 11/11/17. I opened up YELP and found Giovanissa. I immediately called and was greeted by the sweetest and nicest person. I made the appointment and was so excited. Let me say she honestly earns every single one of the 5 stars I gave her! She did such a fantastic job I couldn't believe it was me! First, she uses very high end and quality products. Her studio is beautiful and comfortable. And, she asks you all the right questions about preferences but knows enough about her stuff to really accent your features. I never thought I could pull of shimmer golds until I saw her work on me. It was subtle, beautiful and looked gorgeous. I received so many compliments. I was truly impressed with how beautiful her work is. And I thought she was fast but took enough time to do it perfect. Absolutely horrible experience trying to book her for my maternity photo shoot. I've had many photo shoots and worked with many artists. She told me that her availability was at 6am which was early for my shoot, but I was willing to accommodate her schedule. She was 2 hours away so I would need to leave at 4am to make the appointment. Once I worked out the details and was ready to book her, she then decided that she was going to charge an extra fee for the appointment being at 6am, the time she was available. LoL Hair and makeup was already expensive, then she decided she wanted more even though I was accommodating her. Horrible customer service. read more

Omg my makeup came out AMAZING!!! I found her on yelp because I was looking for a makeup artist to do my makeup for a photo shoot.. I was looking at all her pic just so I can have a feel of what she can do.. And all those beautiful faces and all the great reviews I knew she had to be the one. My photo shoot was in downtown L.A and I'm from riverside and I drove to Burbank to get it done. Was I determine for her to do my make up? Yup! I got my makeup done before at the mall but this was different I needed some professional work done.. She was so light on her hand. And I didn't feel like It was caked on my face like when I get it done at the mall. I showed her how I wanted my make up and she had it down to the T.. I felt pretty again..
