I was going to attend a concert for a boyband I'm friends with (98 Degrees!) and had VIP for soundcheck, meet n greet, champagne toast in the dressing room prior to the show and 1st row center seats. To say the least I HAD to look my best especially up against all the other women. I turned to trusty Yelp to find a new MUA and came across Stelliny. As the thorough Elite Yelper that I am, I initially made a list of a few makeup artists with positive reviews and who were nearby in proximity. Stelliny was my #1 choice based on this initial research although she was a teeny bit higher priced ($150 for makeup/hour with $50 deposit versus $120 average for others). However, Stella instantly won the bid due to her customer service. I had initially called a Google Voice number attached to her Yelp listing but she immediately called me back on her private cell. She was patient in answering all my questions and steered me to her online booking. When I had an issue with the said booking system, she was super quick to text solutions and resolve the issues. This rapid response and client care helped aid my choice for her as my MUA. Stelliny makeup services is based out of The Beauty Room LA location in Sun Valley in a strip plaza across the street from Sunland Produce at the Sunland/Glen Oaks intersection. Ample free parking is available behind the building which is a much better choice that the 30 minute street parking alongside Glen Oaks. The back entrance of the salon is super cute with a BOHO style patio area and succulents which extends to the lobby area with displayed crystals, sage and a fake plant wall. The salon is super modern, clean and cute so don't let the location deter you. I was instantly welcomed BY ALL of the staff and didn't have to wait long for Stella to be ready for me. Stella is a super sweet girl but also very professional. She isn't one to be chatty during the makeup service but she DOES ask for your input on exactly what you seek, asks to see any photo inspiration you brought along, lets you choose lip colors, etc. She doesn't just do what she wants and instead allows the client to have a voice. An hour later (it flew by, honestly) and my face was complete and looking fabulous! It wasn't overly produced or thick like Bozo the Clown. My look was glam but was still akin to my everyday self. So basically, it was me but elevated which is perfect because I don't want to feel like I'm wearing a fake face. Aside from just the quality of the application, the makeup itself had amazing staying power. I had my makeup appointment at noon, had to be at the venue at 5 and didn't get home till 11pm. 11 hours later and nothing was smeared, dripping or worn off! Amazing! Stelliny is a wonderful choice for makeup services from bridal to glam, soft glam to events and everything in between.
