Our wedding was held in the early morning and located in the Santa Cruz Mountain. She arrived on time, prepared, and started working. She answers your questions in a timely manner and very professional. You can tell that she is very passionate about her works. I was not sure if I need her to stay to do the touch up after the ceremony. She suggested that it is not necessary. She left me some lip makeup for the simple touch up if needed. Her makeup lasted more than 8 hours without any problem. Strongly recommend! I wish that I can give her 10 out of 10 stars instead of 5 stars on yelp. They are super fast, efficient, and, most importantly, they genuinely listen to what you want. Nothing was overdone. I went to them for three different functions, and each time they gave me a completely different look. Every look was beautiful, moderate, and exactly according to my requirements. A very special mention to Pushp for my Jago hairstyle! She styled my hair so beautifully with a paranda. Even though my hair isn't very long, she didn't use any artificial hair. She managed to tie and secure the paranda beautifully with my natural hair, and it stayed perfectly in place for almost 7-8 hours--until I actually took it out myself! I was so impressed with how beautifully and securely she did it. Thank you so much, Pushp, for listening to exactly what I wanted and making the hairstyle look so beautiful. Simmi was equally amazing with my makeup. She listened carefully to everything I told her, especially about my skin type and the kind of makeup I was comfortable with. Vanessa is not only a highly talented artist but truly a wonderful person and great fun to be around. I only wish I could hang out with her all the time. "Hiiiii, it's me again..." On the day of the event, Vanessa arrived about 40 mins early to our appointment. She was scheduled to do my make-up and 2 others in my wedding party. I was the last gal to have make-up done and let me tell you, when I saw both my girls done up - I was even more excited than before. She's so talented - yes, that means, she's REALLY THAT GOOD. She had my face on in less than 25 mins and if I wasn't getting married in less than an hour, I probably would have cried. I looked so beautiful, I couldn't believe myself. The make-up lasted through the night (it was hot and I was a dancing machine) and into the early hours of the morning. I never felt like I looked overly done up, cakey, or heavy. My make-up didn't smear, melt or wipe off when I gave everyone hugs and kisses after the ceremony. I was a queen for a day and I owe most of it to the women that did my make-up and my hair (tho my dress was to die for - vintage romantic). Thank you, Vanessa, for making yourself available to people like me. I'll never forget how special I felt - an unexpected and appreciated gift. Highly recommended! Prices are reasonable too!

We had the pleasure to work with Grace and had an overall pleasant experience. From beginning to…read moreend, Grace was extremely detailed and thoughtful with understanding all of my requests for my bridal look. The best part about Grace was that she was always extremely responsive and flexible with scheduling. She helped guide me through different hair accessory options and provided detailed advice on what type of hair extensions I could consider. Before the trial and the wedding day, I prepared a brief slide deck that included photos of my vision and my wedding parties' preferences. She always communicated ahead of time so I could ensure the team was well prepared. During the trial, Grace was extremely cooperative in aligning my trial with my engagement photoshoot. She was super flexible and listened to all my feedback during the session. For example, she noted my oily skin/eyelids, was attentive to how I preferred my bangs, helped add volume to the areas I was concerned, and even included some of my favorite makeup products that I brought along with me. We communicated very well and it was such a joy to work with someone that I vibed so well with! The trial experience made it easier for me to trust in her completely during the wedding day. On the wedding day, Grace was very thoughtful and considered the proper amount of time her team would need to complete a round of hair and makeup for a group of 10, including the bride, groom, bridesmaids, MOB, MOG, and sister. Their team arrived on time and setup was completely seamless. I really appreciated their thoughtful consideration to layer in good quality skincare to make the makeup long lasting. Grace was also super helpful in leading her team, by helping touch up after hair and make up were completed by the other team members, and checking in to ensure the team was not running too far behind. As expected with all hair & make-up prep, there are always a few delays, but Grace was able to ensure that everyone caught up on time smoothly and was ready by the agreed time of 12:30PM. Specifically for the bride, Grace did an amazing job! I was so grateful to work with her again after the engagement shoot and easily enjoyed the few hours together. Grace was very gentle and put a lot of thought and care into my overall look. I appreciated how Grace always took my feedback into consideration. For example, I was very comfortable speaking with her about when my eyelashes or hair extensions were placed in an uncomfortable position. As always, Grace ensured I was comfortable and happy with the final outcome. I was also soooo thankful that Grace was around during the wedding day since the weather was quite hot. I appreciated how Grace took time to touch up my makeup and hair constantly during the photoshoot. She was so patient and caring and it's a great quality to have as a HMUA. Our bridesmaids as well were quite happy with their hair and makeup looks and the team was very friendly and accomodating. Half the girls got up-dos and the others got half up-half down hairstyles that lasted the entire night! The groom also was satisfied with his look and looked younger than ever Overall, we highly recommend Grace and her team! They were all so professional and sweet! Grace also provided complimentary services throughout the evening that were much appreciated! Thank you again for supporting our entire day from beginning to end! You're the best!! Can't wait to use your services for future events as well

Grace and Selina, her assistant artist, created such a peaceful atmosphere for us as we were getting ready. It was an extra bonus that they could speak Chinese with my mom and mother-in-law, so they both felt really comfortable communicating their preferences. They arrived on time to our very remote venue and even finished 15 minutes ahead of schedule! Between the trial and the wedding day, Grace was always warm, professional, communicative, and receptive to my needs. I was so happy with the final look and I really felt beautiful all night long-- it even withstood the countless hours of tears and dancing! This business deserves 0 stars…read more My experience with Emily & Michelle (the studio manager) was similar to the other 1 star reviews you will see on this page. They were by far the most unprofessional and disrespectful vendor I encountered during all of my wedding research. The biggest pain point was unresponsiveness which was consistently bad from day 1. It was silence for days despite multiple follow ups, even when we got to the month of the wedding. Whenever I did receive an overdue response, they were unapologetic and I might even say rude. Because of the concerns with communication, my planner kept trying to dissuade me from hiring Emily and I held out until the very last moment hoping to find another HMU artist. However, we were close to my wedding date and even with my planner's help, I wasn't able to find an alternative. So I reluctantly signed the contract a few days before the wedding and transferred a $1600 deposit. That's when I came across the reviews on this page about the no shows. That was the (much delayed) final straw, and coincidentally a HMU artist I had reached out to months prior reached out to say she was available for my wedding. So I notified Emily that evening asking if she would consider refunding any part of my deposit. Granted, she has no legal obligation to do so but it had been less than 24 hrs since I had sent her the deposit (in other words, less than 24 hrs that she held my wedding date which means no lost business for her). No response from her. She kept my $1600. Even with forfeiting the deposit, I decided to switch my HMU artist and 1000% believe I made the right decision. If I hadn't, I would have continued to stress about whether she would show up on my wedding day, and even if she had, I'm not sure how the experience would have gone. For example, if I wanted an adjustment to my hair or make up, would she have been accommodating? Shame on me for ever signing with Emily against my better judgement! I never write reviews but felt compelled to share this experience. I don't recommend her for any future brides.

I called Emily and she picked up and I was so excited she was available for my date, she went through questions I had and she said she had trial availability for later that month. After that, I followed up over text and email to confirm a trial and she was completely unresponsive. I saw her IG account was posting updates so I know she was still active online. Later my wedding planner reached out, and again she replied right away saying she was available and then ghosted him. Her behavior was incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful, as we wasted time waiting for her, when it would be easy for her just to say she is not available or does not have capacity. Don't waste your time.

She is very talented, listens to you, and manages to make you look like a glammed up version of yourself for the big day. She has several packages to choose from, and she offers trials as well. I sent her links to my pinterest page, and she was able to get the look I was going for. I was a little concerned that the hair and makeup may not last until the wee hours of the night, but they did! So well in fact, that I had panda eyes when I tried to wash everything off, haha. Throughout the day, I had to re-touch the undereye with q-tips and YSL touch eclat, but that's pretty par for the course. The hair looked as good at the end of the night as it did in the morning for the first look. I'll attach a photo during one of the wardrobe changes, which shows my hair around 8 hours later. She gets back to you in a reasonable of time, is responsible and shows up punctually (I had a 6 am start, so this was important), and most importantly, is really good at what she does. Bonus that she was able to help lace up my corset and get me into my dress. She's a pro at veils and explaining to your party how to swap the veil for the comb as well. Plus, she's really nice and pleasant, which is helpful when you're stressed out. She packs a touch up kit for you, which has trial/deluxe products that you may need, which was a lovely bonus.
