Nina is an amazing makeup artist and hair stylist! I hired her on my wedding day to do makeup and hair for my 6 bridesmaids, my mom, the flower girl, and me. She brought 2 other assistants and showed up on time at our hotel in Pleasanton at 9AM (I needed to be ready by 2PM). Prior to the wedding day, she had asked everyone to prepare some pictures of what they wanted. On the day of, Nina did my hair and makeup, while her assistants did everyone else's. They were incredibly patient and friendly! Some of us were picky about makeup, but that wasn't a problem at all for her assistants. They took the time to ensure that the foundation and lip stick color matched everyone's skin tones. And they made sure that everyone was happy with their hairstyles too. Nina was literally the MVP on my wedding day. She was highly responsive throughout the whole process. She even showed up 10 minutes early at the crack of dawn and still made us feel like she was happy to be there with us the whole time. I planned my wedding from out of town and I only visited San Jose twice prior to the big day so time was precious. The artist I originally scheduled a trial session canceled on me last second at 9pm the night before - she said one of her clients just changed their wedding date to the same as mine :(. I was only in town for two more days so I scrambled to find someone to replace her. I called Sunday (I think) morning and Nina scheduled an appointment with me that very day! (In retrospect I suppose I'm glad my other appointment canceled). I showed up at her place for the trial session and Nina is such a sweet and patient makeup artist! I brought along some example pictures and requested something simple and more natural since I don't wear makeup on a regular basis. The trial session was pretty good I thought it was beautiful, but there was something off and I couldn't pinpoint what it was. It could have been because it was my first time in so much make up that I looked pretty different. Maybe the hair was too big, or lipcolor too bright, or eyelashes looked too long. But I voiced my opinions and nina was very receptive to the feed back. I decided to book with Nina for me and a few of my brides maids. She was very good at keeping in touch - emailing me to remind me to give her feed back, or to confirm the get ready location. We ended up using one of the bridesmaid's houses to get ready because Nina's apartment / studio was not large enough for all 5 of us. The day of bridal hair and makeup was AMAZING. I'm not sure what to say besides the fact that everything was perfect and my face looked flawless (I thought so anyway - when the photos come out I'll post pictures so you can decide for yourselves) I don't think I've ever felt so pretty ;) I would definitely recommend doing a trial run if you have the chance to. Nina are reasonably priced and does gorgeous works. So, I hired Star Makeup Artist for my sister bridal hair and makeup as well as the same for bridesmaids and the mother-of-the bride. She did a fantastic job. They don't like wear a lot of makeup and Nina surely bring out their nature beauty, but not overly done-up. The same goes for the rest of the bridal party. Everyone looked their best, but not so make-up that they looked fake.
