Shanney did my makeup for my wedding two days ago. I asked for soft glam, glowy, subtle, and not too exaggerated during my trial. She delivered. I asked her to tone it down a tad bit for the wedding on my lips and cheeks, and that happened beautifully as well. She is professional, punctual, a good listener, and most importantly, a perfectionist. I highly recommend Shanney. read more

I fell in love with Shanney the minute I found her through social media and through one of my closest friends: My! I finally found someone with my aesthetic, who is as sweet, responsive, attentive and so talented for a MUA. I first booked Shanney for my October 2023 engagement shoot and she literally killed it! She listened to all my likes and dislikes and we made notes for what we shouldn't do on my wedding day. Example, no bottom liner/eyeshadow and only liquid eyeliner because my eyes transfer the product to my bottom lid or smudges badly without liquid eyeliner. For my Sept 2024 wedding, she was very responsive with the contract, my constant updates, answered all of my questions and even made sure to check in the night before with me. I am highly detailed and big on communication and Shanney went and beyond with those services. I found my match, truly! I felt 1,000% confident and radiant as a bride and I cried so much that day too. My makeup looked unfazed with all the crying and wiping of tears, she is a pro!!! I didn't even have time to stop and retouch anything except for my lips throughout the whole day, but everything stayed on my dry and sensitive rosacea skin! My makeup was done around 9:30am and lasted all night for my wedding that ended at 11:15pm! Thank you, thank you Shanney, you're truly a rare and the sweetest gem and I am so thankful that I found you. Words cannot express how appreciative and grateful I am that you were my MUA. You listened to every detail and feedback and was honest when needed without ever being rude or offensive. All my bridesmaids and myself looked absolutely stunning! Love you Shanney! Book her ASAP, I did almost a year and a half in advance, LOL. She IS WORTH IT! read more

It goes without saying that my bridal makeup was better than I could've imagined--Shanney's skills truly shine, and my makeup stayed flawless all day! But what really blew me away was how she went above and beyond by helping me with my bridal bouquet when I ran into a snafu. Talk about a lifesaver! Wouldn't look anywhere else--highly recommend! read more

My bestie booked Shanney for her wedding. She did all of six of the bridesmaids' makeup and had time to freshen us up afterwards. She was so easy to work with and all of the girls looked so beautiful. If you're looking for a makeup artist for your event or your big day, I highly recommend her! She's great with glam for girls who are used to wearing heavy makeup, but also can adjust for girlies who prefer soft glam makeup. Book her! You won't regret it ;) read more

After scheduling a trial with Shanney, I was immediately convinced that she was the perfect choice for my wedding day. Her warm and personable nature put me at ease, and she really listened to my vision. What truly set Shanney apart was her exceptional skill. On the big day, Shanney arrived ahead of schedule, which instantly eased my nerves. She took her time, masterfully highlighting my features while ensuring I still felt like myself. Shanney is hands down the queen of makeup. I was lucky enough to book her for my wedding and she absolutely nailed it!!!! My makeup looked flawless all night and even stayed on perfectly after dancing the night away. She is so kind and calm which was really nice on the day of my wedding when I was a bundle of nerves. She listens to what you want and makes suggestions when you are unsure. She took awesome videos of my husband and i which we would not have had if Shanney wasn't with us. Brides, do yourself a favor and run, don't walk to book Shanney if you are a 2026 bride. I am happy to speak directly with any brides who have questions about my experience or want to see any pictures. Thank you Shanney!!!! read more

This review is looong over due! I pretty much booked Shanney last minute (like a couple months before my wedding) because I wasn't really planning on hiring a MUA for my big day. I figured getting my sister to do my makeup because I liked the way she does it for me. But everyone convinced me that it would be better to get a MUA for the big day because I should want to feel pampered and since I never had my makeup professionally done, it would be the best time for it. I did a lot of research before choosing Shanney, I loved her makeup looks the most out of all the ones I've seen. I didn't even book her for a trial because I trusted her that much. Fast forward to my wedding day, she came right on time, got everything set up quickly. I had her also do my bridesmaids, my mom and MIL makeup which they all looked absolutely gorgeous! I was amazed at each one!! When it was my turn she made me feel comfortable and listened to what I was looking for. I didn't give her pictures for reference, more like just explained to her that I wanted to look like a fairy. When she was done, my jaw dropped when I got to look at myself. I never felt so beautiful!! I was so glad I booked her because she made me and everyone looked so beautiful, and it lasted all day and night! (It was such a hot day that day also!) I didn't even touched up my makeup. I was so sad to remove it when the night was over. She took photos of me after also which are the pictures shown here. These photos of me have no filter but I literally felt like a walking filter, I looked so flawless! Thank you so much again Shanney for making a girl feel so gorgeous on her big day! read more

I don't event know where to begin. Out of all my wedding planning, working with Shanney was one of the easiest choices I've had to make. Her work speaks for herself and it's a bonus that she's just a girl's girl that talking to her is effortless -- and I'm not much of a talker lol. I had her do my make up trial that was also for my engagement shoot, and then again for my wedding day. I love that she asks me about the state of my skin first and how that changes the way she approaches her personalized makeup process for me. Shanney is an artist who knows what she's doing and she does it WELL. I'm still gawking at my wedding pictures. I'll definitely be taking one of her one on one classes one day. I've gone to Shanney twice for my makeup now and I absolutely LOVED how it came out both times. From looking at her page I already knew that she would know what looks good on her clients because all of her work showcased how she was able to compliment a variety of different faces and makeup styles. I booked her photo shoot makeup because I wanted extra detail to look extra snatched in photos and boy she DELIVERED. I honestly never knew I could look this good hahaha. I've had my makeup done professionally before but from now on I only trust Shanney to do it. I also enjoy doing my makeup but I have nowhere near the skill she has so I was shocked when I saw how amazing the outcome was, I was rethinking the way I do my own makeup Everything about the look from the way she did my eyeliner, contour, eyeshadow, chose the correct lashes that fit my eyes, made me feel so beautiful and worth every penny you pay. I'll definitely be booking with her again for special occasions (I hate when I try to do a new makeup look on myself for a special occasion and it doesn't come out the way I want and I get stressed hahaha). Service is also amazing because she makes you feel comfortable and is very easy to talk to. She pays great attention to detail and always checks with you if everything looks good. You will not regret getting your makeup done by her 100% Thank you Shanney for blessing me with your amazing talent and making me feel beautiful on my photo shoot and birthday celebration :-) read more

I booked Shanney as my makeup artist for my engagement photoshoot and eventually my wedding. She is an amazing artist who is talented, knowledgeable, professional, and personable. 10/10 would recommend her! I loved her work so much that I booked a 1:1 makeup lesson as a birthday gift for myself. TALENT: She did an absolutely terrific job on me, my two sisters, and a bridesmaid on my wedding day. Not only was she able to execute beautiful looks on each of us with different face and eye shapes and skin tones, but her work lasts and lasts. She did my makeup from 8-9:30am the morning of my wedding and at 1:30am after the wedding my makeup was still going strong. I even slept in my makeup (I know, I know) and it still looked great the morning after. Seriously - I was tempted to go another day without washing my face. KNOWLEDGE: Shanney's super knowledgeable. I am pretty picky when it comes to makeup artists because (before COVID) I used to wear full makeup on the daily and I'm pretty well-versed in different brands and products and what holy grails are out there. I did *many* makeup trials and Shanney not only has great techniques (which I can't wait to learn from her) and an eye for tailoring a look to best suit your face, but she went to school for special effects makeup, built up her foundation as a makeup artist at MAC, and knows her shit when it comes to the best products out there. My sisters and bridesmaid raved about Shanney as well. PROFESSIONALISM: Shanney is receptive to feedback and her demeanor made it easy for me to point out something I wanted changed or done differently. On my wedding day, she showed up right on time (maybe even a little early) and was very efficient in setting up and keeping everything clean. It's a small thing, but I appreciated that she even brought her own lighting and chair so you truly don't need to worry about it on your big day. She didn't have to, but she helped a bridesmaid who worked with another artist with a lip touch-up. PERSONALITY: The cherry on top is that she's just a nice person who is pleasant to talk to in addition to geeking out about makeup. She was a calming presence the morning of my wedding. Thank you, Shanney! read more

If you are looking for a MUA, book Shanney now! One of my best friend recommended her and I'm so glad she did. I look through her work on social media and I'm like yesss, that's the look I want for my wedding. I didn't have a specific look in mind but I knew I wanted something dramatic. The booking process with Shanney was seamless and she was transparent about her pricing. Her precision and skills are on point. She truly is an artist and has a passion for what she do. She will make you feel comfortable in her make up chair especially if you have never gotten make up done professionally before. In my case, I was lucky to get my make up done by her twice. My make up turned out flawless and I got so many compliments! If I need to get my make up done again, I would definitely book Shanney. Thank you again! read more

I've been following Shanney on IG for awhile, waiting for an opportunity to take her 1:1 make-up class in NorCal since I'm in SoCal. I finally had a day off and immediately decided to book a flight and appointment with Shanney. Shanney is relaxed, easy to talk to and the environment is welcoming, professional, and clean. I thought I was kinda intermediate with make-up but this lesson showed me that I was more beginner than I realized. During the 1:1 lesson, I appreciated that it was hands-on - like Shanney helped me feel the pressure I was putting on my eyeshadow brushes (I thought I was applying light pressure but it wasn't light enough). That's something I wouldn't know when watching a video. I wear pretty light make-up on the daily but I wanted to learn how to properly contour and do glam make-up for events/going out. I've watched YouTube make-up tutorials in the past but when I'd try it, it didn't turn out as great. Their cheekbones or eyes differed from mine, so I was glad I was able to learn from Shanney and find the grooves on my actual face. Tips: 1. Take as much notes/pictures as you can so you can reference them after you leave. 2. I brought my make-up products to the session but ultimately ended up using Shanney's because her products were better than mine. In retrospect, it could've been more beneficial to use my own since that's what I will ultimately use on the daily (unless I buy all the same products Shanney used on me - which is also an option!) 3. Practice, practice, practice afterwards so you remember Thanks so much Shanney! read more

I met Shanney back in June for a wedding I was in and she damn near made me feel like I was the bride, lol! I've always been extremely hesitant when it comes to getting my makeup done because sometimes the finishesd look can be very overpowering for my face since I don't wear makeup to begin with. Shanney walked me through everything she did, asked me what I liked, and I honestly told her that I trust her own judgment as the professional because I had no idea! I can honestly tell you this was the first time ever getting my makeup done that I was completely in love with the finished look and the process as well! Truly made me feel radiant in my own skin. Shanney did my makeup on my wedding day and it was absolutely perfect! The weather ended up being foggy with heavy mist, but the makeup did not budge and still looked flawless by the end of the night. I did a trial where we fine tuned the look, then she recreated it beautifully the day of the wedding and color matched my foundation perfectly with my spray tan. One of the reasons I picked Shanney was her ability to do makeup on any skin tone, texture, etc. My bridal party was quite diverse, and her makeup looked perfect on everyone. On top of being insanely good at makeup, she is super professional, responsive and timely. I cannot recommend Shanney enough!! read more

Shanney is INCREDIBLE! I absolutely loved the way she did my make-up on my wedding day. She was ahead of schedule and I felt she took her time on my other bridesmaids and me. We all looked so beautiful! She got to our hotel early in the morning to set up her station. Not only was she professional but she was kind and caring. Each of my bridesmaids felt comfortable with her and she did the exact look they wanted when shown the picture. Shanney understood my vision and more!! She knew exactly what I wanted for my wedding day and gave me the makeup of my dreams! I am super picky when it comes to my makeup (especially because this was my second wedding makeup look). I came in knowing what I wanted and what I did not want and she DID THE JOB! I felt very comfortable with her only because she made me feel comfortable! We had a really nice conversation while she was doing my makeup and I felt like it was a good distraction from any nerves I was having. My make-up lasted the WHOLE ENTIRE NIGHT AND I looked good! Of course, I had to touch up because it was hot and I was oily but at no point did any of it come off or look bad. By the end of the night, my makeup still looked BOMB! If you are looking to book someone for make-up and want an easy, smooth, and comfortable experience with an overall great person, BOOK WITH SHANNEY!!! I promise you won't regret it. read more

I'm a loyal client of Shanney's! I first hired her to do my engagement party makeup in 2019 and loved my look! I got so many compliments. She always makes me feel beautiful and my bridesmaids were so excited to get their makeup done by her. After my wedding I still come back to Shanney for special event makeup and lash extensions. I need to give credit where credit is due. I too myself found Shanney on IG and have been following her ever since. The second I stumbled across her profile, her work instantly made me want to reach out to her, eagerly hoping that she had my date and time slot available for the big day. She got back to me shortly and mentioned that she was booked in the morning all the way in SF on my wedding date! BUT! She was extremely kind enough to pencil me in and willing to do what she can to make it on time to get me prepped and ready in Santa Cruz! Talk about a long drive and dedication to please your clients. I was already so so so happy that she was willing to accept me and instantly booked it. Not only did she make it on time, but she made me look even more stunning than what was done in the trial. Because of her expertise and the love and care she puts into her work, I have put my full trust in allowing her to transform me. On top of that my photos turned out so good!! The makeup stayed all day and night. I also have extremely dry and sensitive skin and it amazes me how well she was able to work on my face and turn it into an UNFORGETTABLE look. Even her trials will not let you down. Don't think about the price ladies, it is all about the quality and you will not regret it. No doubt she is 100% your MUA for any event. I would also like to point out how she stays connected with her clients and shares the products so that you can have them. If you're thinking about booking her, do not hesitate! read more

Shanney went above and beyond to make me look beautiful in my wedding day. I had multiple guests, including my father and husband, tell me I looked like a model after she was done with my bridal look. She did everything I asked of her and worked with me to find the right shade of lipstick, etc. She also took a ton of photos of me after I was done and throughout my ceremony, capturing additional moments that my other photographer didn't get. She then airdropped it into my phone while I was busy with guests to make sure I had them. She truly went the extra mile to just be a great help.
