There are some wedding vendors you hire because they're exceptionally talented. Then there are the rare few who become an unforgettable part of your wedding story. Abhilasha Singh was absolutely the latter.
She was my hair and makeup artist for my pre-wedding shoot and trial, sangeet, wedding ceremony, and reception, and without question, choosing her was one of the best decisions I made throughout the entire planning process.
From the very beginning, Abhilasha was an incredible partner. She was responsive, thoughtful, and invested long before the wedding weekend began. She guided me through skincare preparation, recommended hair extensions, helped me select accessories, and thoughtfully planned every beauty look. She was always available to answer questions--not just from me, but from my family as well. Once I shared my outfits and jewelry, I gave her complete creative freedom, and I cannot imagine making a better decision. Every look was distinct, intentional, and perfectly complemented each event while still feeling authentically like me. She has an exceptional artistic eye and an intuitive understanding of how to enhance a bride's natural beauty rather than transform it.
What truly sets Abhilasha apart, however, is not just her artistry--it's the experience she creates.
Wedding mornings can be emotional, exciting, and overwhelming all at once. Every single time I sat in her chair, I felt completely at ease. She has the rare ability to bring a sense of calm into even the busiest moments, and that gift is just as valuable as her incredible talent. Looking back, some of my favorite memories from my wedding weekend are simply the hours spent getting ready with her. She made those moments joyful, peaceful, and genuinely fun.
Her professionalism is equally remarkable. She was consistently punctual, organized, and seamlessly coordinated with my wedding planner and vendor team. She expertly draped my sarees and even accompanied me to my ceremony venue for my saree change and makeup touch-ups, ensuring I looked polished from the first photograph until the very last celebration.
And then there's the work itself.
Absolutely flawless.
My makeup looked luminous in person, photographed beautifully in every lighting condition, and stayed impeccable through hours of ceremonies, portraits, happy tears, hugs, dancing, and celebration. I have never felt more beautiful--and more importantly, more like myself. She made me feel confident, elegant, and completely present throughout every event.
I also had the pleasure of working with one of the senior artists on her team for my mehendi, and the experience reflected the same level of excellence, professionalism, and care.
One piece of advice I now give every bride is this: invest in people who will shape how your wedding feels--not just how it looks. You spend countless intimate hours with your hair and makeup artist, and their energy becomes part of your experience. Abhilasha brought warmth, confidence, grace, and positivity to every moment. By the end of the wedding, she no longer felt like a vendor--she felt like someone I was genuinely sad to say goodbye to.
If I could relive my wedding, one of the moments I would most look forward to would be sitting in Abhilasha's chair again. I never imagined I'd say this about my hair and makeup artist, but I genuinely miss our time together. I still text her from time to time simply because I enjoy catching up with her.
Years from now, I may not remember every lipstick shade or every curl, but I'll always remember how Abhilasha made me feel: beautiful, confident, calm, and completely present for some of the most meaningful days of my life. That is an incredible gift, and one I will always be grateful for.
Abhilasha is an extraordinary artist, an exceptional professional, and one of the kindest people you'll ever meet. If you're fortunate enough to have her by your side on your wedding day, know that you're in the very best hands. read more
