AJ was amazing with the kids, guiding them through exciting art activities with so much patience and enthusiasm. She was able to keep a large party of 16 kids engaged even though the age group was a tad on the younger side. One of the coolest parts? AJ even took music requests! The kids got to rock out to Taylor Swift while they painted, crafted, and danced around--it added such a fun, lively vibe to the whole party . We also found out she has a Taylor Swift summer camp posted. The space was bright, colorful, and perfectly set up for little artists to let their imaginations run wild. There's even a Moms' night out option where you can bring your favorite cheese platter! Every child left with their own artwork and a huge smile on their face. It was the kind of party they'll be talking about for weeks. I had never tuft before so this was something new and exciting to try out! Every step of the way, Sav (the owner) was absolutely wonderful, so extremely helpful and accommodating. From the detailed emails regarding the correct location of the building (inside Hope Artiste Village) to recommendations of the best images to tuft to helping you sharpen your tufting lines, we couldn't have asked for a better instructor. She gave great instructions and came around to help out where she knew we were struggling a bit but always encouraged and made us feel like we were all rockstars. I can't say enough about how great of a class we had. She had her niece Leah (sp?) help out as well and she was such a sweet kid. The space is large, airy and welcoming. Feel free to bring something to eat/drink but light snacks and water are provided. We left with the cutest rugs that we made ourselves. Great to walk away with a masterpiece we personally put our hearts into. I'd love to come back in the future.

I love that no matter whatever I want to make, Patti still encourages me, and seems truly delighted in my meager accomplishments. She is a true teacher, taking time to explain details again and again. She willingly shares details and knowledge from her lifetime of sewing, down to what kind of pin to use, to where to find the least expensive magnetic pincushion. Who knew? I've even learned how to make my own patterns! The atmosphere is always calm and focused, and I find it a welcome respite from my busy day to day life. Sewing has become a meditative practice for me now, which I look forward to every week. Patti is able to juggle every skill level in class, whether someone is just learning the bare bones basics, to the much more advanced. She's pretty well connected in the sewing world too, and hosts really interesting guest workshops. The studio is small and very tidy, with easy parking just outside the door. Classes are currently on a month to month basis, which is nice because it's not a huge commitment. I've seen students come for just a month, to get help on a specific project. Yep, she can do that too. And for the record, I've seen 2 men in class, everyone is welcome, West Side Sewing Studio is my little weekly getaway. I come home relaxed and focused, and I get to make cute stuff!

My daughter and I took part in a glass blowing lesson presented by Jennifer and David. We had an…read moreamazing experience! Jennifer and David patiently explained every detail of the process prior tom and then during the handling the molten glass. Their explanation and guidance provided a high level of comfort when it came time to work with the glass! Jennifer and David are passionate about their work and proudly display their work and are eager to answer any questions we had about working with glass and producing their masterpieces! We were extremely happy with the lesson and the pieces we created! It was definitely the highlight of our vacation in Jamestown and highly recommend a visit to Clancy Designs!!

If you're one of the many who have to head back to work with a new baby in tow, then you know…read morethere's nothing more nerve-wracking than placing your brand new darling in someone else's hands. You worry about whether your baby will like the caretaker...whether s/he will like them more than you...whether they will care for your baby as well as you could...and whether they will be kind enough to not tell you that they witnessed your baby's first word/crawl/gurgle/etc. If you're also in tune to the importance of early childhood education, you likely also want to know whether they follow the standards for care and that they are fostering your child's social, emotional, and educational learning and expanding your baby's gross motor skills. Whew. It's exhausting, thinking about all those things...and, as a new parent, I thought of all those and more when trying to decide where to enroll our daughter. A Child's University was seriously one of, if not the, best place we could imagine. Each and every day, she loves going to 'school'. I also love that she can grow there and maintain continuity, as the school goes up until Kindergarten. I have full confidence that she will develop mentally, socially, and emotionally under their watch. They do wonderful craft projects, even with the teensy babies, and every time I pick her up she is happily playing with the various toys or other children - always with one or more of the teachers sitting watchfully. All of this allows you, the parent, to feel good about the fact that your child is engaged all day long. And, while they do have a ton of rules and protocols to follow, I know all are done with safety in mind. The teachers are outstanding. I am not joking when I say that a primary concern of mine is whether they will be sensitive to the conflicting emotion caused by leaving your baby with another caretaker. For that kindness, and for the kindness they show to my daughter each and every day, they get an A+ in my book.

We are so taken care of here, our feedback is frequently requested.  Any questions I've had, are answered within hours - day or night.  And I have to give Jamie, the Director, major props because not only is she cool, calm, and collected with great communication skills, but she's also fashionable, stunning, and super funny. In addition to the amazing employees and the beautiful and bright space, this is a quick list of what I love so much about A Child's University: *It is accredited - It is extremely difficult to achieve and maintain academic accreditation.  It shows in all levels of the education. Yes, even my 11 month old had a daily curriculum they follow including themes, art projects, science, math, and health/motor skills. *Daily art projects.  Yep, even in the baby room, they do art! *They exceed the state's teacher ratio standards by staffing more educators in each room than the state requires.  Full time educators have their degree. *It's clean.   *They play music entering and leaving the building, and in the baby room. *They use an app that sends push notifications so I know the minute my son goes down for a nap, has a wet diaper, and how much of his lunch he ate (or threw on the floor as the case may be). *They send several pictures daily and have a live stream camera. *They have a nurse on staff daily. *The staff is so loved, and in return they shower our babies with love.  It makes me smile to see all of the love notes and gifts that the teachers received.

It was a great experience for us - the staff was kind, professional and my son just loved them all. I really did appreciate the camera system they have in place, so that I could check on him from home during the first few days - no need to wonder if he was having a good day. The school also always had a number of fun, seasonal activities lined up for the kids and I loved getting the most adorable little keepsakes to bring home. I have 2 kids and have checked out a number of schools through the years. This one definitely gets an A in my book!

Please, stay away from this facility…read more My child has been here in Pre/Pre K class. Not long, though, because this facility does not care about your child. Not once do they wash their hands, even before meals. So, from the minute they walk in to when they get picked up, their hands do not get washed. Children use the bathroom on their own with no one watching, no one helping. There are 2 toilets in one bathroom, and boys and girls can use it together at the same time. They go out to play in the playground 4 times a day which is of course not right, since their ages range from 3-5. Circle time lasts bout 15 minutes once or twice a day and the rest, their playing by themselves with blocks or toys. You child can fall and be all dirty, but the "teachers" do not change their clothes. You would think, since they have a camera, they would be aware of the parents constantly checking up on their kids, but no, these teachers do not care. Sanitary is a big issue with most parents , but this place does not think so. I will be filing a report with the licensing department because it is absolutely gross to think that my child is being left at a place where they allow children to eat with hands that have not been washed after going to the bathroom or being out in the playground. We sent our previous child here so we can be convenient, but I have learned my lesson.

We tried our hand at a Japanese art called suminagashi, floating ink on a watery solution, swirling & marbleizing it, then floating a plain silk scarf on top to which the color adheres. While we waited for them to line-dry outside, we sat on the little patio and sipped wine. There are several artisans associated with Boldacious, you can buy their products or attend a craft class. Several of us plan to go back in the fall to take knitting classes.

I absolutely love it there and 100 percent would encourage any parents in the Cranston/ Providence surrounding areas to send their children to this school. The entire staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. Their passion for what they do is above and beyond amazing. They care about the well-being and safety of all the children in the classrooms and take very good care of them. The classrooms are setup/ directed in a way children can excel and learn different subjects while having fun, gaining good foundation, routine and responsibilities. Both my children have learned and grown so much since attending this school, which in return has allowed me to learn and grow so much as a parent. They answer any questions I may have and will go out of their way to follow up with me and make sure we are all set. I am truly grateful for all the help and support they have given my family.
