She hired an assistant to the wedding, he was also late. The assistant had to show Tracy how to use the airbrush sprayer. Sadly, the assistant was not an updo professional. He put on no hair protectant and had to keep trying to smooth the curls, with a very hot iron, because he spiraled them way too tight and short next to the face. He was shown a picture of a half up with a bun. He did not do a bun he pulled the sides back and put in a bunch of bobby pins over and over again, calling that good. I almost cried before my daughter's wedding due to this stressful situation. The mother of the bride missed her daughter getting into her gown because Tracy's assistant had to keep trying to redo hair that ended up looking not that good. It was very stressful and my hair was fried. The person he did before me at least had time to redo her hair. The bride's hair was not done the same way as in the trial since Tracy did not take a pic and could not really remember how she did it so it took much longer and made one of the attendant late. The whole thing was unprofessional and seemed like a lot of rushed winging it. Tracy charged way too much for this weak service.

I told her early on that I prefer a very natural look and don't feel comfortable in heavy makeup -- and she absolutely delivered. My makeup felt light, effortless, and still completely me... just elevated. It was more beautiful than my daily look, but never overdone. I especially loved what she did with my eyes and lashes. They looked soft and natural, yet defined and stunning in photos. And my hair -- this was huge for me. I don't have a lot of hair and I didn't want to wear a wig on my wedding day. She respected that completely and somehow created beautiful, natural-looking volume that made me feel confident and radiant. I was honestly amazed at what she was able to do. She was also so open to feedback and small adjustments throughout the process, which made me feel really heard and comfortable. The main reason I did not go forward with booking with her was because of the haphazard nature of the hair part of the trial. Vian did not part my hair, comb my hair, or use hairspray, and just draped the headpiece on instead of tying it to the hair. She told me the trial is to only get an "idea" of what the hair would look like and made me undo the hairstyle after getting pics so she could get the hair piece and pins back. I was pretty stunned because I paid almost double to include hair in the trial rather than just makeup, so I was expecting to get more than just an "idea", I wanted to see how the hairstyle would stay throughout the day. The end result was messy hair (attached a photo) and my sister who was watching commented after that she could have done a better job. In addition, Vian told me I needed to get a haircut for curtain bangs before the wedding in order for the hairstyle to work. This felt like an excuse, I'd expect her to work with the hair I have and make the best hairstyle possible, not fault me for it not looking good. Afterwards I had a hair and makeup trial with a different artist for the exact same price. At this one, I got a full hairstyle with combing, hairspray, pins that stayed on for the full day and I wasn't told that I needed to cut my hair, and it looked much better. I ended up proceeding with booking this person for the wedding instead. For the makeup, later that day I noticed that there was a smudge on my eyebrow. I checked photos and it was there in the very first photo my sister took of me after the trial was completed. I was surprised Vian didn't notice and fix this and this made me question her makeup skills as well. Style wise the makeup didn't match what I had on my Pinterest board that I showed her -- those had softer, lighter colors but I was given a darker, higher contrast look. To be fair, she asked what lip color I wanted and I told her she could choose because I didn't know (not experienced with makeup). However, the second makeup artist was so much more thorough -- she looked through my Pinterest board and asked things like, "these are all warm toned but this one is cool toned -- do you want warm or cool toned" and was able to distinguish what I liked from that, and I ended up with a look I was much happier with. Perhaps Vian would work better for someone who has a strong idea of what they're looking for, versus someone completely new to makeup (me).

I booked Arianna Scott after she was referred by a friend who looked stunning on her wedding day…read more Lucky for me, Arianna was available on my initial wedding date and later on my final wedding date after a postponement (thanks, pandemic). I had many emails with Arianna's team when booking, and coordinating the trial hair + makeup (for me), and day-of hair + makeup for myself and my bridal party. Arianna's admin team was always responsive within a reasonable timeline, and took extra efforts to reach me (text, calls, follow up emails) for anything time sensitive. The most important part of my experience - how absolutely talented Arianna is! Arianna did my trial makeup ~1 month before my wedding and I was so glad I booked that service. It allowed her to run with my initial vision, then allowed me to see what changes I wanted for day-of. Arianna remembered and flawlessly executed my requested changes from the trial look (more of a cat-eye, standard vs subtle lashes, tighter styled updo) on my wedding day. Speaking of my wedding, it was a 95-100 degrees and sunny for my mostly-outdoor wedding! I was worried I'd sweat off some of my makeup, and my hair wouldn't hold the styles nor curls after pictures, none the less making it through the ceremony and reception. I don't know how Arianna did it but my hair and makeup stayed THE ENTIRE DAY. My photographer was also impressed with the long lasting details. My only touch ups were reapplying lipstick, and lightly re-circling the hair framing my face.
